TLDR: Amazing prenatal yoga classes, wonderful tribe of moms in the Mommy and Me classes, and now I can add the perfect place to throw a birthday party! I've been going to Green Locus Yoga for close to two years now. I started when I first got pregnant and now my son is 13 months. Wow, does time fly. Most recently, we attended a one year old birthday here. It was perfect! Here was the set up. We ran in 15 minutes late (of course. Btw how were all the other moms on time? I honestly thought we would all be that late.) The class had already started and kids and moms were dancing on their yoga mats. I really respect places that are timely! We had about 30 minutes of yoga/body movement to music (about 45 minutes for everyone who was on time). Then we had some refreshments the mom brought. I thought it was over at this point, but no, we had more structured play with a giant parachute! I thought it was a fantastic way to structure the birthday for one year olds - they have the attention span of squirrels so that food break was a necessity. At the end of the party, Mallory, the owner, told everyone to stay as long as we liked, but of course being moms of toddlers, everyone ran for nap time. However, it is a good feeling knowing you are never rushed to leave. After throwing Yoshi's first birthday at my house this year, this seems like the perfect alternative for his next birthday. They have a cap of 12 parents/kids (so a total of about 25), which makes sense for the space. We had a blast and the class was perfectly suited for the age of the kids. read more

Loved it here! I got a month pass on Groupon and I highly recommend this place. The yoga classes are diff everyday but very relaxing exp their candlelight yoga. I also recommend the Bounce Barre class. The instructor is amazing and I love it better than Pure Barre. You don't feel as sore but you still can feel you worked your butt off! I will say the prices without the Groupon are a little pricey but it was a great experience. read more

Now that my 1 month unlimited Groupon special is over, I can give a more detailed review of this studio after attending several classes with different instructors. Note that my number of yelp check-ins are inaccurate. I sometimes forgot to check-in because I had been practically living there for a month trying to take advantage of my unlimited classes and it would slip my mind. I still give this studio 5 stars and would give more if I could. I have only great things to say about Mallory (the owner and instructor) and all of the instructors. The studio offers yoga, barre, bounce barre, ballet, and other classes for dancers. I have taken Barre taught by Marianne or Mallory, Bounce Barre taught by Tiffany or Mallory, and Yoga classes with Pam, Felicia, Natalie, Vanessa, and Shari (I may have missed an instructor or 2). They each have their own unique way of leading their classes, but each time I get a great workout (I'm talking dripping sweat and shaky, fatigued muscles) and I leave the studio with a clear and calm mind. I love the friendly, relaxed, judgement-free atmosphere and how supportive the instructors and my fellow members are. They make it fun and not so serious. I'm able to laugh and smile during the classes even though I'm dripping sweat and my muscles are burning and fatigued. I also love how the instructors take the time to correct form & let you know if you're doing exercises and poses correctly. Proper form and not injuring myself are very important to me! :) My favorite workouts are 2 classes in a row of either Barre + Yoga or Bounce Barre + Yoga. It's the perfect combination of toning, cardio, and stretching/lengthening. I was lucky enough to take advantage of their June summer promotion for 3 months of unlimited classes. It was perfect timing as my Groupon special was coming to an end. So I'll be sure to continue going to Green Locus often as it's my new happy and zen place. :) I highly, highly, highly... did I say highly?... highly recommend Green Locus Yoga. Such a great studio. The owner and every single staff member is friendly, supportive and helpful. There is a class for everyone from Barre, different types of yoga, ballet, contemporary, even Bounce Barre with trampolines! The studio is well equipped and clean. Bright and cheerful lobby with lots of amazing retail options. But the biggest thing that makes me love this studio is the sense of community. The culture that the owner has built and the vibe in there is positive and supportive. Everyone cheers you on. You feel they are really in your corner. Pricing is similar to most yoga studios and WAY less than I was paying monthly at a chain Barre studio. Mallory is upfront and honest with her pricing and is great about answering questions if anything is unclear. Highly HIGHLY recommended. read more

Green Locus Yoga charged $249 to my cc when I was authorizing a charge for $60. They use a signature pad that does not display any payment information so there was no way for me to know I was being charged four times more than what I expected. When Green Locus stated they were extending the special, I thought they were extending the $60 special I was currently using, unaware that there were two specials going on at the same time. The owner at Green Locus did not provide me with any receipt or purchase information at the time of signature. I asked the owner when the end date to my special was going to be, knowing that it was only for one month and the months were from date of purchase to date of purchase, not from beginning of month to the beginningto beginning of next month.  She said she didn't have time to look it up at that moment. Since I thought we were talking about the same item, I agreed that it was reasonable for her to get back to me.  All this took place at the beginning of the month. It wasn't until the end of the month when I received my bill that I noticed I had been overcharged. that's when I made a call to explain a mistake has been made. But this merchant is very slick and she knows that the only way that she can deny my refund is to claim it as buyer's remorse. From the beginning, her actions were suspicious which is why I went to the sheriff's office to file a fraud report. They thought it was suspicious too, but it was not important enough for them to follow through. She offered to extend my purchase term. You can understand why I would not accept an extension or any accommodation to a purchase I never agreed to. So her offer to take classes after she keeps my money, is something I would not agree to. I contend that Green Locus is using the "buyer's remorse" tactic to avoid honoring corrections to erroneous charges. She is also very good at getting reviews removed. This is the second time I've posted this. she tries to shut down your first amendment right to free speech by threatening you with a trivial lawsuit. Thankfully there are now laws against that which would cost her even more if she followed through. read more

I took the beginning class there, and I loved it. It was perfectly paced, and though the moves weren't difficult, they really stretched me in places I didn't know existed! I even broke a small sweat! I had the opportunity to take a class at this Tampa Yoga studio a couple of weeks ago and had a great experience. The studio itself has a very peaceful feeling to it right when you walk in. The first thing I noticed was this is more of a holistic approach to health in general - beyond the various yoga classes, they also offer healthy food and juice products via a company called Beyond Organics. I haven't practiced yoga for a long time but have visited a few studios and found the instructor to be very personable and willing to help me when needed without making me feel uncomfortable due to my lack of experience. The space is large and airy with lots of natural light - my ideal setting for a yoga class unlike some other places that were in the basement of a building with only four walls to look at - Prices seem reasonable and the location is great within a high end shopping area. Lastly, was great to see the owner of the studio onsite interacting with everyone as we finished the class. I would definitely return and would recommend Green Locus Yoga both for people that have practiced for a long time and for others that are new to yoga as well. read more

I tried this place out on a Groupon several months ago. I was taking bar classes in Tampa, but when I started working from home, I wanted to find something closer. I tried several other places, also though Groupon. My first time at this studio, I fell in love with it! The instructors and even other patrons made me feel welcome. A far cry from the cold-shoulder I received at one nearby studio! After testing out several types of classes just to be sure I absolutely loved it, I decided to purchase a year-long membership! I knew I would like the bar and yoga classes, but I have even tried ballet! That was interesting because I have no experience with ballet, but the instructor was patient and very encouraging. I can't tell who my favorite bar or yoga instructor is because I like so many of them! They are all willing to answer questions before or after class and often offer up encouragement during class to individuals by name. I feel like they really care about the people in the room with them. Several yoga instructors make a point to acknowledge and thank every person at the end of class. Love that! The studio is located in a strip mall anchored by Mellow Mushroom. Parking is easy when I attend day classes. The lot gets a little busier during the evenings because of the restaurant, but there is plenty of parking to the side and rear of the building and the entire lot is well lit. I have always felt safe, even after sweating though a jazz class that lets out at 9:30PM! The inside of the studio is super cute too. It has a relaxed and modern look. There are mats available if you don't have your own. They have some really pretty ones for sale if you decide to buy one and a slew of other cute merchandise. read more

I really enjoy this yoga studio! They have created a zen atmosphere that offers different types of classes for everyone. It's clean, the staff is knowledgeable and I feel like they truly care about you and giving you the BEST yoga experience....meeting you wherever you are at on your yoga exploration and journey. Green Locus is a little gem in Citrus Park. It's a small studio, but has a beautiful atmosphere. I've been taking adult ballet here and really love it. The teaches are very helpful and friendly, as well as the owner Mallory. They offer ballet, barre, and yoga- which is unlike any other studio in the area. It is a very welcoming space, and accommodates super beginners up to very advanced levels. A lot of available parking. They have online sign-ups for classes which is really convenient, but I would personally love if they had an app for class sign ups. Green Locus definitely has a sense of community that a lot of studios struggle to find. I'm excited to try out more classes here. read more

I recently went to this Tampa Yoga studio for a flow class and I loved it. The instructor was able to challenge yet support me through the yoga practice. I found that I was able to breathe, focus and balance better than I had in months. This yoga studio was one of the most relaxing and welcoming places I have been to in the area. I have been doing all different types of yoga for many years across various cities (Chicago, San Francisco, etc.) truthfully Green Locus Yoga and Organics definitely tops the list for me personally. They find creative ways to keep you involved and focused on your health. Whether it is their outdoor yoga or kids yoga or bring a friend to the yoga studio - it definitely keeps you engaged and wanting to come back for more classes. The price is also right - very affordable for a cleansing and and relaxing yoga experience. Beyond Organics is also available to purchase at Green Locus yoga studio. These products (which I had not heard of before visiting this Tampa yoga studio) I have come to enjoy, especially the food and snack packs are great for a post class snack. Mallory, the owner, is a professional but also a genuinely nice person in that she takes the time to get to know her clients. My husband and I have enjoyed many Saturday mornings in Gentle Yoga with Pam! She's absolutely fabulous, funny, knowledgeable, and kind. When I decided to cancel my monthly enrollment and just pay as I go, my email requesting to do so was responded to within hours and the cancellation was immediately processed per my contract with no questions asked. read more

I would give all the stars to Green Locus if I could. If you are worried about walking into a new studio and think that people will judge, this place is the exact opposite. Every person I have met here has been so kind and helpful. Their yoga classes and instructors are informative, intention led, and peaceful. Paula is an amazing yoga instructor especially for beginner yogis, I can't recommend this class enough if you want to go back to basics or it is your first yoga class. Pam and Teri's classes somehow take you away from the hecticness of life and bring you into a calming frame of mind. It is for sure the best class to take when I'm feeling stressed. The dance classes here are worth every dollar in the world. Melissa, is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Since I started taking classes here, she has helped me immensely with my hyperextension. Her pateince, knowledge, and expertise is astounding. Melissa's class is amazing if you are new to dance or if you have been dancing for years! Vashti's ballet class is a great class for all dancers. The class is taught at a slower pace but that is because ballet technique is not something that you can teach at a fast pace. This class is really a great foundation to help you in the other dance classes. I have not had the opportunity to try the Barre Class or the Bounce Class but I have heard amazing things. There is also Prenatal Yoga, Mommy & Me yoga, Family Yoga, Teen Yoga, and even private lessons. There is really a class for everyone! The owner of the studio, Mallory, is so personable and a genuine human being. What can that woman not do? She does it all. She teaches most classes, is always hosting/planning events for the studio and the community, has a Ph D project in ABASI, and has the CUTEST cats that sometimes join us at the barre if they aren't hanging out in the front window! This was my first experience ever stepping foot into an actual yoga studio and I was blown away by the people, the atmosphere, the facility and all of the beautiful products available for purchase at the front of the studio. I attended a bounce class with my "little" from Big Brothers, Big Sisters and we got our butts kicked, while laughing the entire time. Honestly, it was so much fun, I signed up for a membership. The class was challenging and exactly what I was looking for. Green Locus is a great place for someone who is a beginner in yoga. They cater to the level of what you can do and modify the positions with someone who has limited ability like me. Melissa is a great teacher and owner who really cares for her teachers and clients.. The studio gives you that tranquil feeling even before you do yoga.. The different classes offered is very family oriented which is a plus and get the kids to start doing yoga early in life which could increase their strength physically and improve their mental ability to focus..I definitely recommend this place if you want your whole family to start living a healthier way of life through yoga. Great place! I never did yoga before and was worried there might be a lot of women in yoga pants doing cartwheels and putting their feet on their heads but it wasn't. There were other normal people like me just trying to do yoga. I did have troubles finding it though so make sure you go up to the second floor.They are also closed when they are not running classes so if you have questions, just call the studio. read more

I am a guy who has almost no experience with yoga. A friend told me about a special "guy's night" event that Green Locus was having in support of men's health issues. The price sounded reasonable and the special event came with a voucher for a beer at the World of Beer next door! The studio is tucked away on the second level of a very clean and safe commercial plaza located in the Westchase residential area. Depending on when you come, it might take a few more minutes than usual to find a parking spot, but even the overflow parking is a short walk to the studio. Once arriving at the studio, I found a a few people waiting in the reception area where a friendly employee was quick to greet me and have me sign in for the class. There were drinks and equipment available for purchase, but nothing was pushed on me for a sale. Since I'm inexperienced with yoga, I was hoping that I wouldn't feel overwhelmed. The yoga instructor was very welcoming and questioned our group about our level of experience. For almost every exercise she demonstrated, she offered alternative methods to perform the exercise to suit the student's abilities. I never felt overwhelmed, but I was definitely challenged! I did know that yoga could be such a workout! Fortunately, the class I attended balanced the exhausting workout with a very relaxing, meditative cool down. It's a very small studio. $18 per class is pretty high a hundred and $17 per month is much higher than normal. I take yoga at the y and pay $30 a month. And some of my teachers at the y also work at her studio. Be careful of the specials because you think you're buying one thing and next thing you know you have a $250 charge on your credit card that you didn't authorize because you didn't know she had changed the special. and she doesn't give you a written receipt to sign like they normally do with a credit card. Then when you call and say hey I think we had a misunderstanding, she won't give you your money back. When you try to negotiate or dispute the charge, she starts building a written log of lies to discredit you. She will then accuse you of lying, she will put up fake witnesses against you, she will say that you've threatened her, pretty much anything i That's bad business especially when everything's online these days. read more
