Last night we discovered Green Mill attached to the local Best Western Hotel in New Ulm, Minnesota. Ann was our waitress and she was EXCELLENT. Her suggestions on Entree choices were great. I had the Chicken Stir Fry Salad which came warm on top of a nice bed of Romaine. It was great to avoid Carbs but I get tired of Cold salads. Mushrooms & Onions were plentiful with Red Peppers all warm and tasty. Could have had a bit more chicken in it but when your looking to go Keto this works. My sister had the Chicken Parmigiana and my wife had the Chicken & Asparagus Stir Fry on top of Quinone and they were very satisfied with it - NO DOGGIE BAGS were used after this meal!! Great modern atmosphere, restrooms close by and exceptionally clean i hated to leave after our meal was over. This was a home-run place for us and we are looking to coming back for more meals during our stay in New Ulm. read more

We came to Green Mill in New Ulm during Oktoberfest. They offered German food as well as their usual fare. Well, it was Oktoberfest and we were in New Ulm.... Our German Platters were good as well as the Chicken Asparagus Bowl, but the Shrimp Loganstino wasn't even fair (cold, not much shrimp for cost of dish, no flavor). So I split the difference (5 for other dishes, 0 for shrimp) to make it a 4. We loved the New Ulm Narren (masked, costumed characters) that paraded through the restaurant. We visited Green Mill in New Ulm today an had a very poor experience. We were seated outside and after 20 minutes of waiting for a waitress to come to our table, we finally went to ask if someone would come to take our drink order. (There were a few other tables with guests outside as well that were being served by two different waitresses at the time so we we not the only ones on the patio.) A waitress finally came to take our order, we ordered our drinks and food since we already had plenty of time to look at the menu. After waiting another 15 minutes we still had nothing, not even water. The restaurant was not overly busy, 6-8 other tables of guests throughout the whole place. No apology or even acknowledgement of the lack of service. Wouldn't return. read more

The ambiance in the bar, tables or the terrace is very nice. The service needs attention. Seems to be they are short on personnel and the rest is on training. The food is good. read more

I was excited to return here to have the chili pepper burger again, but I can't say that I'll be back after finishing 95% of the burger and finding a hair sticking out of the patty! If only I could uneat that meal... Management did comp my dinner, but that was little consolation. One other difference from my first visit was that I was offered complimentary bread. Needless to say, that dinner left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't recommend it. Kitchen needs to fine tune some of their practices. read more

Had a horrible experience in new ulm. The mozzarella sticks were burned, the salad was hot from being under the heat lamp, the thin crust pizza was not cooked and limp, there was no bread and was told there would be none for an hour, and the cheese bread was burned and hard. The deep dish pizza was good. Told the manager and she said she hoped we would try them again. Ha! A disastrous mother's day dinner. The waitress was very nice and refilled our drinks without us asking. I gave her a good tip. Not her fault the food was horrible. There was a bad fly problem too- many kept flying around our food . The air conditioning was not working very well either. Very hot in the restaurant. read more

Management and wait staff were extremely rude. My 29 year old sister, 21 year old brother and myself (27 years old) were denied single beers for no reason other than "suspicious ID". If the server would have taken longer than 2 seconds to review our identification, she would have realized we were all well over age. All 3 of us were very chill & patient on a busy Friday night, but we were made to feel like criminals for no reason at all. Both waitress & manager were very rude and would not listen to us at all. Recommend avoid this restaurant if you want any type of customer service . I'm an out of town health care worker who stayed for the last time at the hotel as well as visited this restaurant fir the last time in 5/10 /22 . After a very long day working in the local ER my dad and I arrived 15 minutes before kitchen closing . We waited 10 minutes for aa server before being seated in the restaurant,. Despite this, we were given menus ,placed orders very quickly as we were advised we only had 3 minutes and then after sitting a while were told our order was placed 2 minutes too late so we wouldn't be able to eat after all .. Super overpriced, 4 people cost over $100 and we didn't even order alcohol. The wings we ordered were over cooked and dry, the celery was rotten and slimy and the ranch make have been expired because it tasted really funky. The pasta was served cold. Very disappointed. Went to green mill for lunch today and had the worst experience. It took over an hour for our food and when it did finally arrive the sweet potatoe fries were burnt and the food was cold. FRUIT FLIES EVERYWHERE. I wish I hadn't been swatting away fruit flies the entire time I ate. My server was super nice and attentive and the food was good... but so many fruit flies. Entering a restaurant is the first thing a customer sees prior to being seated. The environment when I first walked in was extremely pleasant and family friendly. My family and I were seated at a corner booth, which was cozy and comfortable. Our server, Sage, greeted us with a warming smile and we continued to order our drinks. The drinks were brought immediately, along with some butter and bread, for the wait. The coffee was cold, when received, and the bottom of one of the cups had a prior coffee stain at the bottom. We asked for another flask of coffee, and the second flask was hottER, but not as hot as coffee usually is, or should be. Also, the hot chocolate was extremely watered down, and tasted very powdery, as if only half a packet was used for one cup. The apple juice that I was given was only half full, which I didn't complain about, but thought should be addressed. We ordered a deep dish pizza, which took a rather long time, a long with a chicken caesar salad. The pizza wasn't as big we thought it would have been, for a large. The salad was drenched in sauce, but the chicken was rather fair. The croutons were wet, not crunchy, as croutons should be. I am disappointed with this visit, but am only reviewing three stars because of Sage's great customer service, and help. read more

Going in, I was skeptical about the Chicago-style deep dish pizza. However, I have to admit that they make a credible effort. The dough is a little lighter than it should be, but I liked it. Overall, the pie was really good and all four elements were in balance. I would recommend residents of New Ulm to visit Chicago for pizza (e.g. Pequod's, Lou Malnati's, Giordano's, and many fine one-offs) as well as many other things that we have to offer. But you can keep going to Green Mill for a solid approximation. read more

A lunch for three generations was full of fun and laughter! We cant say enough good things about our waitress Shelby and her service. She went above and beyond. She was kind and mellow not at all overbearing like some wait staff can be. My three year old was entertaining us by playing "teacher" and Shelby shared with her that she was planning on becoming a teacher. She even provided my daughter with tape to finish her picture. The manager Joe spoke with us sharing a casual conversation about the importance of customer service in today's mediocre world. Great place for a Sunday Brunch. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and our reserved table was ready to go. We were a big party and we decided to do the brunch buffet for everyone, which is great since they include OJ, bottomless coffee and apple juice with the option to add on bottomless mimosas for a small charge. I started with the prime rib, which was delicious, very juicy and cooked to the right temperature. Our waiter checked on us constantly and made sure that we were taken care of. Omg! And my favorite, was the sticky Cinnamon buns! They were soft, with the right amount of sauce dripping over it! Oh! And that's not all, they also had a chocolate fountain with all the sides and yummy treats to dip in it. My only complain is that the the chocolate was not as hot it should have been for the fountain, but over all, great food, service and friendly environment! read more

Good food, but slow service. We routinely allow 45-60 mins for pizza pickup when they tell us 20-25 mins, otherwise end up waiting significantly. Staff are friendly, and it's a great place for families. Great place for Sunday brunch.. Unremarkable beer selection, but to be expected given it's a chain restaurant. read more

For a restaurant attached to a Holiday Inn this place is really cool. The bartender Mike is super cool and he's a huge metalhead! The food here is very good with big portion sizes. Try some local beer that is brewed just down the road at the Schell's brewery! read more

Had dinner there with a friend tonight. We ordered the boneless Diablo chicken wings for an app...delicious! Not spicy but full of flavor and has a bit of sweetness to them which was good. Chicken was not dry and there was more meat then breading which I really appreciate. My friend and I both had the extreme calzone. Packed full of the ingredients (meat and veggies), sauce, and perfectly melted cheese! The bread part of the calzone was perfectly cooked and we really appreciated that the breading wasn't so thick so you had more of the ingredients rather than the bread. The marinara sauce was delicious as well. Our waitress was super attentive (I wish I would have remembered her name!). The management was very kind and courteous. The drink menu folder fell over at our table knocking over my bottle of beer which then spilt. They were quick to replace the beer at no charge as well as cleaning up the spill. Would loved to have sit outside this evening because they have a great outdoor space but it was far too windy for it. Will definitely go back! Also, in the past we have gotten the chicken and asparagus stir fry bowl which is one of our favorites!! Also price wise it was great in my opinion...a calzone and beer was only $20! read more

6 family members went out to celebrate a birthday at the Green Mill. We ordered 2 different pizzas and both of them were out of this world delicious. Followed by cheese cake which also was top notch tasting. I would recommend the Green Mill to anyone that wants a reasonably priced delicious meal. Everything on the menu is great read more

Went here after my daughter did the community dance show at the high school. The last time we were here, it was the German restaurant/half Green Mill. I didn't really want to come back because I was not a fan of that place. Lo and behold, it became a complete Green Mill! Very clean, very organized. I wish I could remember our waiter's name because he was absolutely wonderful! The fish tacos I got were delicious and I stole some of my husband's pizza, which was also tasty. What an unpleasant visit. We were on our way through for a girls road trip and wanted some pizza. This chain came up as the pizza to get in New Ulm. It was busy, but not crazy for a Thursday. Our service was so bad that I debated not leaving a tip. It took 45 min to get our appetizer and we only got it after we asked a different server to check on it. It came out cold. There was no explanation or server stop to say that they where even cooking our food. Based on the staffs reaction to my asking for our app, I set the timer for our pizza. 20 min later we asked the manager where our pizzas were. He mumbled something and walked away. 25 min later they brought the pizza to the table and it was warm...not hot. Our original server came back at 55 minutes. Didn't ask if we wanted more drinks or apologize for the wait. Needless to say the pizza is great if you want to spend 2.5 hours in this restaurant. read more

Came in on a Monday night after work. Had a couple of beers and ordered my pizza. After about 20 minutes I noticed that the waitresses were filling their own drink orders. Seems the bartenders decided the nice weather was better than working and decided to get sick at the same time? After patiently waiting for over an hour, I was able to get the attention of one of the waitresses , she checked and noticed no Order for me. Seems they had hired a new manager a few weeks earlier and the general manager Angie decided to take a vacation. At this point I am sensing a theme. No one seemed to have a clue as to what was going on and what should be done, I blame that on poor training from the GM. Can't remember the waitress who saved my evening but this is not the level of service I Demand at green mill. Will reconsider where I dine when in town again. Likely won't be here. read more

Met a friend here for lunch here on a Saturday. Came in around 11:30 am and we were seated promptly. Service was good. Food was good as well. Ordered the Millhouse Sandwich with fries. Sandwich was delicious, but my fries could have been warmer. They were lukewarm to almost getting cold. Otherwise, our dining experience was good.
