Beautiful course. This is a well maintained and scenic course. The service was great. I booked on the website directly. The starter got us out a little early which was great for us. The course is a nice challenge. I only regret I only had time to play only nine holes

Beautiful course but unfortunately has poor management with lack luster hospitality skills.

The Pro Shop has a homey, farm-esque feel to it. We checked in at 8:30 for a 9:10 tee time and were told, for the first time, that we had to be off the course at 1:00 for a shotgun start tournament. On a busy Saturday, that would be a stretch. "Driving range" was just a few grass mats where you hit balls off a cliff; interesting. Course was nice, needed a little water. And the rough was deep. I'm not sure if this on purpose or a lack of maintenance. Course had nice views. Very hilly, some blind shots, but not as many as Killington. It was very tough to figure out how to get to the next hole, we had to turn around a few times. After we finished the round, we wanted to check out the bar and maybe grab a bite to eat. However, there is no bar or restaurant. Just a snack window, though it appears the food they were producing was high quality. Overall, for $120, I'd rather go to Green Mountain. Though, Fox Run is still be best course "around" - hands down.

Words can't describe how pleased we were with Trailside for our wedding in September 2025, but I'll…read moretry. Josh and Ann are incredibly friendly, detail-oriented, and punctual. They answered every email inquiry we had over the 11-ish months of planning our wedding within 1-2 days. And we'd never planned something like this before, so we had a LOT of questions. They made it incredibly easy to plan all the details specific to their venue (every available amenity, dimensions, etc.) without requiring additional onsite visits. They have a default Wedding Weekend plan down to a science, and respected all of our desired deviations from that default plan while still offering specific advice from their years of experience.  The venue itself is lovely. Our guests complimented the quality of the rooms and the beauty of the natural scenery. It's perfectly situated for guests to easily take nature walks, hikes, or ride to the top of Killington peak in their free time.     They provided the services of a Wedding Planner for us as part of their base package, and they 100% delivered beyond our expectations in this regard too. When our primary reception caterer failed to provide services they were contracted for (setting dishware/tableware, washing dishes, filling water glasses), Josh and Anne jumped into action and completely took over. They tableset our entire reception, washed all the dishes themselves, and filled water glasses to ensure dinner could be served as early as possible. When our caterer even forgot one of the primary entrees, Trailside already had a backup plan to order emergency pizzas from nearby and settle the cost at a later date. Even outside the scope of a catering disaster, they consistently helped us to unload and organize our décor, keep the bonfire lit and warm, and kept s'more tables and other amenities stocked. They truly did not have to perform at the level they did, but they even employed additional helpers as needed to make sure we were never behind schedule. It let us truly relax and enjoy the company of our loved ones rather than stressing about logistics.   If you decide to book a wedding at Trailside, please relax knowing the fact that Josh and Anne are looking out for you and will help steer you in the right direction throughout the process- having a very natural schedule, easy room booking process, and picking quality vendors (they only onboarded our failed reception caterer by exception to their standard list and by my wife and I's explicit request - they no longer approve that vendor for weddings at Trailside). If you're deciding between venues, my wife and I would wholeheartedly recommend you pick Trailside and sleep easy knowing your wedding will go smoothly and beautifully.

If you are not playing with a member (course knowledge) you are scarewed (sic). The greens are pool table fast and if you are on the wrong side of the hole a 3 putt comes into play. The course was in fabulous shape when I played in late July. The rough was up so a missed fairway equaled a tough shot to fast greens. I shot above my handicap but I thoroughly enjoyed my round.

Just spent five, count 'em, consecutive five days playing in a tournament at RCC and yes, I am still very impressed. This place is in great shape, well kept and is one of those courses you can play every single day and still never be bored. Seriously. The food seems to have improved. It was pretty good before but now it is actually very good. 04/22/2010 The 18-hole "Rutland" course at the Rutland Country Club facility in Rutland, Vermont features 6,134 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70 . The course rating is 69.7 and it has a slope rating of 125 on Bent grass. Designed by Styles & VanCleef, the Rutland golf course opened in 1901. Greg Nelson manages the course as the General Manager. Okay, enough of what you can read online. This course might seem innocent enough but don't get fooled. Much like the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog this track will do more than "nibble your bum." The greens are usually lightening fast and replete with subtle breaks that can turn what might seem like an easy par into a vicious four putt. Beware the two-tiered green of the 13th hole, a long par 5. If you leave yourself a putt from above the hole you are, as they say, screwed. Generally the course is in impeccable condition. The course pro is super-nice. Snack bar at the turn features a decent selection of refreshing beverages and sandwiches / snacks. The food in the newly revamped clubhouse is very good and the bartenders are excellent. The only downside? No driving range and the men's locker room should be gutted. But for a great time and a fantastic golf experience give it a shot. Oh yeah, while the place is semi-private the members are great. No stuffiness here. Just good people, great golf and the occasional game of wolf.
