My coffee order is always correct, stout flavor without that 'burnt' flavor you get at a chain coffeehouse-my only complaint is when you get stuck behind someone asking for a 'half caf, partial whip, 5 pump something or other' drink and you want to punch them in the throat (but that's not Green Planet's fault!). read more

I passed by Green Planet Coffee a few times when coming into town. Took a while to get here because its on the wrong side of downtown for me. Taking my morning walk, I decided to walk a few more blocks and try it out. Good coffee. Nice place to hang out, sip some coffee, and check your email on your smartphone using their wi-fi. Not cheap ... but then are these little coffee shops ever cheap? And with their "organic" and "fair-trade" buzz words you know to expect a premium price. And they don't only care about the world ... they have a dog bowl of water outside too. read more

I love this place so much! I've been coming here for years every time I'm in town. I'm disappointed to say I can't give a full 5 stars but recently there was a man with black hair that was awful! I was so surprised I had to come back the next day and tell the other staff. He got my drink completely wrong and was not friendly or welcoming what so ever. This is one of my favorite places on the Jersey Shore to get coffee and just hang out. They have wifi so if you need to work there for a couple of hours you totally can. this location doesn't get very loud in the afternoon in the dead of winter. I cannot speak for any of their specialty drinks but their basic coffee is spot on. read more

The barista Sam was all by herself at this location but she did such a great job at helping every customer at a timely and friendly manner. Went there today to grab a coffee and was very much enjoyed it. Good atmosphere and location, though parking can be rough sometimes. I had one of their signature espresso drinks, the green planet americano. Their signature drinks are an organic espresso and they come sweetened with honey. I had never even thought of sweetening my coffee using honey, which is kind of odd because thats the only way that I drink my tea. The americano was great and the honey really complimented the flavor. I am going to have to steal this technique for when I make coffee at home! Overall it was a very good coffee with nice service and ambience. A little pricier than a starbucks but you feel better spending your money on a local business rather than a huge corporation so that was not an issue for me. 4 stars! read more

Great coffee! Even their decaf is great! I think this place blows Starbucks out of the water but I'm not a huge coffee person either. Environmentally friendly coffee...Sounds very trendy. Green Planet Coffee does coffee very well. Nice, cozy interior and some tables directly in front of the store. I usually get the iced coffee as I come mostly during the beach season. The "Green" coffee is a bit extra and of course it is organic and fair trade. They have the standard lattes, espressos and cappucinos. Cash only! I definitely will continue to make the effort to stop here when in town. read more

My favorite place to stop when in Manasquan. Great coffee, nice pastry and snacks. The staff is always pleasant. I usually get a lb of beans to go. If you get 2 lbs , you get a free cup of drip. This could be a great place if they could make a decent espresso. The automatic machine is no better than the nearby chain coffee shop. They actually have a real espresso machine but it was not even turned on!! No baristas here. Just untrained high school students. I discovered this cute coffee place while in the heart of Mannasquan. This is a fair trade coffee company (always a good thing, right?) and they serve up some of the best local coffee there. Inside is very cozy and comfy with sofas, chairs and high bar seats. They make some very good and unique smoothies as well as yummy desserts and other coffee friendly pastries. It's quiet, relaxing atmosphere inside with a friendly staff. read more

I would give it 5+ stars but the owner is a dick who does not want to serve you coffee the way you want it, but instead tells you how it "should" be done. however, he is never there and the women who work for him make up for what he lacks! WOW is this weak espresso. I agree completely with the other reviews when they say that the staff is untrained and knowledgeable. It's like the espresso machine is there just for show. When I came back in with a watery tasting almond milk iced latte the barista seemed to have no idea what I would be talking about. I asked for a iced coffee instead of hashing it out but that suffered from the same lack of flavor. I have worked at a local coffee shop for a few years and toured NJ trying lattes and mochas from small shops. This was one of the worst I have ever tried. It pains me how easily the owners could fix this problem even using the automatic machines by increasing the amount of coffee ground per shot. If any of the hoot and hollar about the bean source is true then it is really a waste of good beans. The only positive I will say is it has the potential to be a really good small coffee shop but just isn't quite there. Really sad. read more

First off, I must say I have gone here multiple times. Their lattes are good, but the coffee is pretty bitter. Because i have probably gone to every coffee shop on the planet, i know you can get a nice robust coffee without the bitterness. I usually drink my coffee black, but i cant here. Pastries are nice and the only reason I come back is because the staff is very sweet (and cute). :)The owner (?) There aren't too many options for coffee shops around here. The coffee at Green Planet is good, much better than many of the other local alternatives. They also have yummy smoothies and though I've never had their cakes and treats, they look delicious. The place seems friendly to vegans and those with other alternative food tastes. The inside has a relaxed cosy atmosphere, with lots of comfy couches and chairs. There's some good outdoor seating as well. It's right by downtown Manasquan so it's even a good idea to get the coffee to go and walk around town or down to the park. Often there isn't a large staff working, which usually isn't a problem because it isn't too crowded and it makes it feel less corporate. Though I might have more of a critique if Green Planet was in a busier city area or a college town, for this spot it's definitely one of my top picks for coffee and hanging out. read more
