We closed out the Green Scene Year on New Years Day to listen to music and enjoy the tasty food and drinks before they close until spring. I loved my Hot Bourbon drink with a nice hit of cayenne butter and a few other tasty additions the Gin and Tonic was amazing as usual. I had the Carnitas Pizza (crisp crust, well prepares Carnitas and fresh greens) and Wild Rice Mushroom Soup. (Deep flavors with nicely done Wild Rice.). We started with the bacon wrapped dates (perfectly sticky) and the White Bean dip (tasty and crisp veggies includes watermelon remediates, yum ). This remains my favorite spot in the area, worth the drive for sure.

I came here for lunch with my family while on vacation from Iowa and Arizona. I'm not sure when they opened but I can't believe this was our first time here, we have been coming to Walker for many years. The decor, service, food and drinks were 10/10. While we waited for a table to open up we ordered some drinks at the bar. We tried their espresso martini, watermelon crush, paloma and their cabana banana old fashioned, all were beautiful and delicious. The watermelon crush had a nice spice, this was my favorite cocktail. My husband and I shared the wild rice mushroom pizza, not a crumb left! It was fantastic. The kids had a cheese pizza, not a crumb left again, they raved about their fire oven pizza. My brother in law had their classic turkey salad, he said it was the best salad he's ever had. Everything looked and tasted so fresh. Even their ranch was amazing, I asked for a side of it for my pizza. Yes, I love ranch with my pizza :) We will definitely be coming back next summer, I will be looking forward to this!

Bacon wrapped dates - sooo good!

My husband and I arrived at about 11:45 on a Friday morning; there were about 5 other tables in use. By 12:15, they were packed, and the noise level was pretty loud. We ordered the bacon wrapped date appetizer, and the wild rice and mushroom pizza w/their house made sausage. Both were good, but the dates were really good! Our waitress was good - she refilled my water about 5x (we had just finished a hike), and she was friendly and helpful.

We came back for more deliciousness. Pizzas are amazing as always. We had the mushroom/wild rice one and Korean special. Such a great spot I. Walker!

Pizza was great, staff was great, wait was short. Good experience, would recommend. Salads on other tables looked wonderful.

If you ever find yourself in Walker MN. Do yourself and your stomach a GIHUGIC favor and quickly take your sweet ass to Green Scene Organic Market, Deli, Catering, Cocktail Bar & Restaurant!!!!! Started off with a little veggie & olive platter with a feta cheese mix. The watermelon radishes were effin heaven! Moved on to a 2nd course of white bean, kale, bacon & wild rice soup AND it came with a huge chunk of sourdough bread and in house made honey butter! So friggin good we purchased a quart to bring home with us. Final course! Wood fired wild rice, mushroom & sausage pizza with truffle cream, mozzarella, cheddar and microgreens. HOT DAYUUUUUM my mouth and belly were in heaven!! So basically all I'm saying is....IF YOU'VE BEEN TO WALKER AND NOT EATEN HERE. You're missing out!!

The food was largely amazing in a good way. The service was particularly disappointing. Our meal…read moretook over two hours, and it very much seemed that the staff believed "sorry we are busy" and a free desert would make it all better. More details below. The food was excellent, except for the falafel. I've never had falafel before that wasn't crispy on the outside. I'm not sure if the dish sat for a while before being served, or if The Pines simply serves it non-crispy. It was soggy. The great food included: Chicken, Scampi, Sea Bass, Walleye Tempura, Popovers, Potatoes, Beets, Cauliflower. All of these were excellent and everyone at our table was so pleased. The service: I'm not sure if I will return. It is unlikely. Our initial round of food appeared very quickly. Things slowed down after that. The rest of the food took an eternity to arrive. I truly considered asking for the bill and leaving before our mains, but we were treating friends. My tiny water glass kept going empty, and finally someone asked if we would like a carafe of water. Yes, yes indeed. Beverages were in general slow. We were told that we would receive a free desert, and asked for the menu. When she came to see what we might order, we had to ask for the menu a second time. More slow. What fun. I privately let our server know I was quite disappointed prior to the bill arriving. I was crystal clear before we ordered that I was to receive the bill. The bill was left on the table with one of my guests. I provided my credit card, and again the bill was left with my female guest. Did you even look at my name on the card (an obviously male name).

The restaurant itself is bright and inviting, the staff is super attentive and friendly and the food is fresh and innovative. Their Risotto was one of my favorite dishes I have ever had and I am still dreaming about the popovers. There is also a speakeasy in the basement and the drinks are delicious! Upscale workout being stuffy. Loved everything about our visit!

So you need to know what you are getting into when you get here. A rural MN bar on one side with a…read moresupper club on the other. Nice menu and as a whole for a rural MN place it is pretty good. Salad bar is definitely a step above the typical place like this that only has iceberg lettuce, croutons, Bac-os, cheese, cherry tomatoes and carrot shavings with french and ranch for dressings. As a whole, a step above the others in its food genre. For that I'll give it 4 stars. But if your arteries are feeling healthy and you want a good old fashioned greasy meat sandwich have I got the 5 star recommendation for you. The ribeye steak sandwich. Might be sacrilegious to put a nice steak on bread, BUT.... Freshly cut and grilled ribeye, toasted bread and lots of butter. Do you need anything more? A good beer to wash it down? Sure. But that's it. I can't get away from this every time we go through here. It is simply fantastic. Again, juicy steak, butter, toasted bread and more butter. Wow. Comes with fries I think. I don't really care what it comes with actually. Probably will contribute to my early death from heart disease. But oh well. Life can't be all salads and smoothies.

Salad bar was adequate but not what it used to be. The cheese steak soup was outstanding. I…read moreshould have just gotten the soup and salad bar but came to try the chicken dinner special. Broasted too long, dust for a crust and dry meat with little to no seasoning. Three people in our group got it and nobody ate a second piece. Mashed potatoes were instant, which was a let down because how hard is it to boil a potato? Roll on the plate was nice to see but there was no butter. Walleye bites was the other order and they were overcooked, dry and bland. Color of the batter gave away the age of the oil; dark and old. Service was so so, nobody asked how the food was and when paying the bill there was no checking to see how the meal was or a thanks, see you next time etc. Heard good things about the chicken, thought we'd try it, glad we did because I don't have to go for the Friday fish fry now. Sorry but I cannot see trying this again.
