They are fast and the staff is chill. *** IMPORTANT *** You can not see or be 100% its all shredded, but you can see them shredding. They stand up on a platform well above sight view and feed the machine. To be 100% sure they would have to build out the platform, then they would have to open the side of the shredder so you can see that none of your paper is still in processing before it gets cut up. To research a viable shedding solution, I created a spreadsheet and ended with 6 local (San Diego) choices and their pertinent details. From the onset, Chris was responsive to my calls, subsequent emails and further inquiries! While he maintained a level of professionalism, I was IMPRESSED that he talked with me as a PERSON vs merely as a revenue stream, as opposed to one of his competitors on my spreadsheet! I felt simultaneously pleased and relieved that the shredding truck would meet me at the storage unit as opposed to me dealing wih the logisitcal hassle of ensuring I had a large enough vehical to accommodate 77 banker's boxes and/or Xerox paper size boxes, transferring them from the storage unit into the vehicle and then driving to the shredding location. I came here late last year November or December 2020. It was my first time. Saw a Hispanic male by himself. I confirmed the size of the tote with him if it was $5, he said yes. Half a year later, I saw the same guy there except this time there was a Caucasian male there with him(must be the boss?) I had my trunk open, the white guy walked over and was going to carry the tote out for me. I said wait, wait. Can I confirm the price first? And how can we tell if you shred all the documents? He said you can watch. I will explain later what happened before. Well the white guy said it's $15 for that size. I said I was here last time and he charged me $5. He then drop it down to $10. I still wasn't satisfied. I took off and left to the other location. The reason why I asked how can we tell if all the documents were shredded. Well a few months later my daughter became a victim of identity theft. Not sure if it's related to the business. Not blaming them. The customer get to stand there and witness the shredding. With every bite it would rumble and discharge unrecognizable shredded ropes of paper out the other end into the dumpster. I noticed this local "green" spot before jumping on the 94 the other day. Not a large commercial place, but very nice / cool add to the neighborhood. They shred large bulk items (e.g. confidential paper, account information, etc.) then recycle to other companies to make new products. My shredder at home reached its maximum capacity, so "Green Shredding" was just the ticket to same me time and energy. Each bag only costs $5 per load (I had $10 worth), and your receipt can be leveraged as a tax deduction. Items are shred right in front of you, so there is no worry of whether the paper has been destroyed or left behind. Go and support Tinh P., and the crew! It is definitely worth a trip! This place is a bit hard to find (just before the on-ramp to the 94), and only one space to park (inside), but true to other reviews you can bring your banker's boxes filled with documents to shred and it's only $5 per box. I also had some 13 gallon kitchen garbage bags filled with more stuff to shred. The attendant didn't weigh them like they mention on their website, but said $5 for each bag too which I think is fair (they were stuffed!) He even shredded the banker's boxes as I didn't need them back. The machine is a little noisy but you do get to witness the shredding for a bit more peace of mind (others charge extra for this). Pro tip - if you need banker's boxes, Costco has a good deal - 10 boxes for $20 - saw these at Costco Business and regular membership warehouse. Easy to assemble and get to shredding! read more

I went to Green Shredding for the first time today to take care of a box full papers and three hard drives. I called ahead to ask about the hard drives and was told I could drive right into the place - no hunting for parking! The paper was quickly shredded while I watched. They don't send hard drives through a shredder (the only thing I would improve about this place), but they use a tool that crushes/folds the drive in half.
