He was very knowledgeable and very detail oriented. He showed me everywhere that he would seal for rodent proofing. His pricing was exactly where I would put it. He was able to fit me in in a week and on the day of the job he had 4 guys; 2 of which were family members. They were all very professional and worked very quickly and well. I had a lot of wires and lines running in the attic and was worried some of them would get damaged (I know my fault and they should have been tacked up to begin with) but they worked around them and nothing was damaged. I was also worried about my roof since it was just done with lightweight concrete but no tiles were broken. They setup portable walls that were sealed with contractors plastic sheeting so any dust/contaminants were sealed away and directed at a HEPA filter. They finished the 1300 sqft attic and also the garage attic in about 6 hours and it looked perfect. I was very impressed. They even removed about 50ft of old HVAC piping from the garage attic (when they probably could have left it). I feel like it's very hard to find contractors along with their team that truly take pride in their work in this day in age but Leo and his team are the exception. It helps that it is a family owned and run business which mean they really care about their clients and also the work done. I found insulation labs and Ray came out for an estimate. He told me the same thing as ChatGPT did so it confirmed my suspicions. His quote was definitely on the expensive side compare to a competitors quote but he did mention that his quote is expensive because they use 12mm thick vapor barriers which is more resistant. The other competitor quoted me around half the price but for 6mm barriers. I again asked ChatGPT and it told me that 12mm is preferred because 6mm is prone to breaking once a contractor or someone go down to the crawlspace and when that happens it loses its purpose to control vapor. As a result I went with insulations labs and they spent a day putting it in. So far I haven't seen any issues and I believe they have done a good job from the pictures they shared

They were very transparent about every step and the cost breakdown. Along with the rats, they found old asbestos pipes and were able to include the removal through a separate service for us, so everything would be done at the same time. Our house is almost 100 years old, and we bought it as is 10 years ago... who knows how old that insulation was? (so gross) We had a big commercial company come and quote us before contacting Ecorattic, and they gave us an ASTRONOMICAL number. I mean like 10k more than Eco. Reason a star is missing (not due to Kyle): It has been just about a year since we hired Atticare. Last year we had the house painted, fumigated for termites, and then I realized we needed all of the insulation pulled and attic and crawl space cleaned. With the initial work - I would definitely get up in the attic and check all of it, as well as crawl under the house to verify the work, as I had to have them come back out two more times to complete the cleaning process. I would highly suggest the company invests in full portable lighting to see the entire area instead of using headlamps as too much can be missed. Insulation installation will be done at a later time. They did handle the initial cleanup quickly and it was appreciated.
