Every fall I take a few days and head up to Maine. The Green Tangerine is located in kennebunkport. It is the first shop I visit in kennebunkport. The clothing in Green Tangerine is unique. The owner Carolyn has amazing taste. She has assisted me in putting together some beautiful outfits. The clothing is reasonably priced so I always leave the Green Tangerine with something. Great boutique! Beautiful high-end brands. They have a really awesome selection. I ended up buying a few tops and a few bottoms because of the sales associate's (Liz) great assistance. The owner was also very helpful. I own a retail store myself and hold customer service and experience to a high-regard. I made the mistake of wearing a vineyard vines shirt into this store underneath my jacket. While shopping, despite my husband and I being watched like hawks, I decided to try on a few items. After coming out of the dressing room, with a few items selected for purchase, I witnessed the owner approach a teenage worker and ask "is that what she was wearing?"....implying I had stolen a shirt. Very rude and uncalled for. My shirt clearly had been worn with the logo showing wear and tear with it's age and there were many other ways to go about her concern without the rudeness. We put down our items and walked out. Will not return. Disappointing to see the lack of trust, warmth, and welcoming vibes. read more

Very rude staff. As soon as we walked in a young boy was taking temps without authorization. Violation of hippa for sure. There were no sign outside of any sort saying that temps would be taken. Also we were not allowed to go outside the same door we came in yet there were no arrows on the floor pointing to the door we were supposed to exit...another violation. There were about 12+ people in the store.. no social distancing. another violation to my knowledge. I will be calling the attorney general in regards to the hippa law and lack of COVID regulations. It's not too hard to put arrows on the floor. My child is deaf and autistic and could not understand. With such snobbery from the staff you'd think it would be easy to buy some blue tape and put arrows on the floor pointing to the exit. We will not be going back. When I called to explain to the owner she said she had the authority to violate the hippa law. What an awful experience. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality and variety of the clothing in Green Tangerine. They carry a lot of brands I was familiar with (wooden ships, vince, island company) as well as many I was glad to learn about (principal jeans, kay celine). I browsed and picked out a few items to try, but welcomed assistance from one of the women in the shop. She definitely listened to my style and fit preferences and brought me a lot of great options. As I tried on she held aside a pile of "yes" items and "maybe" items, which was really helpful. I ended up buying a pair of jeans and 3 sweaters. I am obsessed with the principal jeans I bought. They are so soft and comfortable. I also love that they're made in the USA. The kay celine sweater I bought is also made in the USA. If I was up in the area again I would definitely pop back in to shop. Their clothing is very current and their knowledge of the the sizing and brands is helpful. read more

The staff are really helpful and attentive to what you're looking for. I come back to visit once a year and every time the staff are always thoughtful and kind. In terms of the selection, great selection, if you're from a city you can definitely find an array of things that you can take and wear back home too not only at the port. Wonderful selection of awesome labels but beware- prices are marked up BIG TIME. Just bought a shirt while in vacation mode and came home to find (out of morbid curiosity) that it was marked up over $20 than regular retail. Sad because now I won't go back next year. read more

I absolutely love coming to the Green Tangerine in Kennebunkport, ME! I have never ever walked in to this store and walked out without having had a great experience. Their customer service is amazing, the two women who work here are so incredibly nice and helpful. Their clothes are top notch and I don't think I can come in here without getting something! The lady who owns this store and pink tangerine is so rude. I witnessed her yell at an employee which was just weird & uncomfortable. The staff is literally watching over you and re- folds everything u touch right in front of your face- awkward! Just wait till I leave the store. I went in this store Memorial Day (Monday) of this year and had a horrible experience. I went in with my sister and my friend and as we were browsing the staff was extremely rude! They immediately straightened up clothes and anything we touched they had to fix purposefully in front of us. One of them even cut me off walking to the mirror so she could rearrange something I had just folded and put away. Just to mention we are all women in our late 20's, who were well dressed and were respectful of the store. I cannot say we received the same respect in return. We had a few items we were interested in purchasing and after this horrible experience we put them down and left. We will not be coming back. read more
