In the middle of this intense summer heat, unfortunately, our AC unit broke down. We called many…read moredifferent HVAC companies desperate to get it fixed. While some responded and even came out to see what the issue was, the all were quick to tell me old unit had seen better days and there was nothing they could do but to get it replaced. I couldn't help but noticed how quickly the service tech converted to a sales person, offering me and quoting me over a 10K for a new unit. Obviously, my wife and I were not ready to dish out that kind of money just like that, so we decided to get a second or even 3rd opinion about it. We contacted Northstar, and David (the owner) took my call, and immediately arranged for a technician to come to our rescue in the middle of weekend. Ivan showed up and he took his time to go over every single possibility of what may be issue. He noticed we owned an older unit but did not mentioned it as the issue. Instead, he just focused on how to get it up and running again. After a thorough examination and while having a great chat, he discovered the root cause, some work from before had installed wrong and unnecessary parts to our unit and therefore had caused diminished performance to the point of breaking. He performed his miracle and was able to fix not only our AC unit but also stop our entire family continue to roast inside the house. The entire Northstar team was excellent! From David the owner taking my call, to Tamara taking my information and setting up an immediate appointment, and finally Ivan, who gave our AC unit another chance to breathe. All of them are just simply AWESOME!
