Can't get our dogs medical immunizations records they have on file. They refused to see our dog after we complained to manager that staff was over hr late opening office. As 3 families were outside waiting for over 30-45 min. We were heading to catch flight to Hawaii. We had 3 dogs to board . With 3 families waiting outside we needed to leave of miss our flight. We had this booked well in advance. We had to leave and have family friend bring them back hours later. After my husband complained the staff said they didn't like his tone when he went in to pay after our trip. They never picked up our calls or emails while our dogs stayed there for the week. It was very upsetting as well as worrisome that our pets were ok. We still have not received our records that they have in their files. They administered the vaccines and said they would be kept safe in their records. read more

They really love all dogs! We use them for our dog Goofy. They are very caring and the dogs love them. Very reasonable prices and love all dogs. If we ever needed a kennel service we would definitely use them. Our dog Goofy is a challenge. Doesn't like water; gets separation anxiety; and hates the nail grinder. Our family feels fortunate to have found Green Valley Pets. The first thing that stands out to me is how friendly the staff are and how much they care about the dogs. Our dog, Buddy, was recently diagnosed with diabetes and requires special needs care and monitoring, including daily shots of insulin. The staff help him with his special needs and are so professional about it. They are also very responsive for status updates which is a big plus in our book. I would NOT recommend Green Valley Pets to anyone because all of the animals are houed in dog crates based on the dog's size. The staff was friendly but the owner was not. I inquired about the policies prior to payment in a very friendly manner since I was not familiar with the facility and the owner came from her office and responded in a very rude accusatory manner. Maybe the owner was having a bad day but she accused me of harassing the clerk. I spoke softly and pleasantly and just wanted to be informed in case I decided to bring my dog there again. I did not. I doubt that the young clerk worked there very long afterward having to work with the unpleasant owner. read more

I love this place to get my doodles groomed. They are not booked up for weeks and super reasonably priced. Marlene the doodle groomer does an amazing job and seems to really love dogs and what she does. I am a fan! We take both our dogs here and they are my babies I would never trust them w just anyone. If I could give this place a zero, I would. I needed a last minute grooming appointment for my toy poodle and was happy to hear that Green Valley Pets had availability, but now I know why. Despite the fact that I showed the groomer five different pictures of my dogs previous haircuts, which is a teddy-bear hair cut, they forwent what I asked for and proceeded to give my dog a standard poodle haircut. What's the point of asking how I want my dog to be cut if the groomer is going to choose the style and completely ignore my request? I'm very disappointed as I could not have been more explicit in describing how I wanted my dogs hair to be cut, and they still somehow failed to give me what I asked for. Would not recommend. Update 4/21/21 : Sherry, who I believe was his groomer, has resorted to insults and claimed that I was "cyber bullying" since I did not post any pictures. I did not take any pictures of him right after his groom as I was still in disbelief at his cut, nor did I realize that it was required of me to include pictures with my review. Very childish behavior of Sherry, who also stated that I "must have been bullied as a child" because of my review. read more

I do not recommend this place. I will give it a ZERO! Our pet went home with a wound on her nose and was very scared. She kept hiding under the bed and run away from us which she never did to us. I spoke with one of the staff and ask an explanation. She said she will communicate with other staff and will give me a call back but never did. I do not recommend this place. Poor communication and the staff that I spoke with is not honest. Very sad experience for our pet. read more

After she was picked up I noticed her acting very strange, very timid (shes a very high energy dog) I gave her a good bath as soon as she got home and that's when I noticed SEVERAL pretty severe puncture wounds on her thighs, leg and both sides of her head. I was NEVER notified about any issues & when I called the sweet front office lady hadn't been informed either. Now considering bringing her to a vet to be checked out... but on who's dime? If i could give this place no stars i would. We took our two yorkies here this past week and had them there for 4 days. We had previously put our older yorkie (he is 7) in here by himself and there was no issue. But this time we noticed our 1 year old yorkie was acting very strange. She wouldn't bark, she now submits when you walk up to her, and she walks around with her head down all day and is depressed. I went to give her a bath and noticed that the hair on top of her head was cut shorter and there is a scab forming with dry blood on her head. I had specifically told the employees no play time, and they must have disregarded what i said. I would not recommend taking your pets here ever! read more

Horrible Grooming... Very disappointed and frustrated as his hair is all different lengths and he has cuts on his underbelly and inside of his leg. I had to pay $50 for a cut when it looks nothing like I asked for. I even sent 5 photos of what the previous groomer did, so they would have something to refer to. All I was looking for was a simple, nothing fancy. **update** The following day my dog was throwing up and had other stomach issues. I called to ask if they fed him anything or gave him treats, and they gave him grain-based treats - without my permission!!! read more

We support small businesses so we stopped going to pet smart where he was getting less attention, a smaller room and the price was higher. We've been bringing our dog here for 15 years. It wasn't the most luxurious place, but it was clean and reliable and the staff was always attentive and nice and our dog was always happy upon our return. Now, under the new management, not so much, in fact it's horrible. They never answer phone calls, so trying to make a reservation is a nightmare. After the last time we boarded our dog here, he had an injury to his paw and he had a habit of pooping and peeing on his mattress. Do yourself a favor. Stay away from this place if your care for your pet. read more

Loved this place pre-COVID but a major screw up occurred and the attitude of the staff last Saturday was rude, inexplicable, and hostile. Don't make appointments if you can't keep them! The former manager (Alexis) is gone, and although I left a request to ask Marissa (evidently the new manager) to call me because this was so uncharacteristic of Green Valley Pets, never heard back. This is not sour grapes. This happened (it was witnessed). I have called, left messages, but no one is available. Use Folsom Dog Training Center instead. They are very professional and they don't tell you that they are "too busy" and "too tired" to take care of an appointment made well in advance. Lost my trust. This review is long overdue. I always say that the way to tell a good doggie day care is to gauge how your dog reacts. We've been to several different doggie day cares and the best sign and the greatest endorsement any day care can get is when my dog runs out of the car and right into the place, wagging her tail the whole way. When we pull up to Green Valley Pets, my dog is whining to get out of the car and run right in to visit all her friends. I know she is well taken care of and cared for by each and every staff member there. I appreciate the time and attention they give to her. We are new to the area, and having a place that I can take her is such an invaluable treat for us both. I am so thankful for Green Valley Pets. I cannot endorse this place enough. read more

Nobody is on the same page here. We were told several different prices and they misunderstood my dogs feeding schedule (even though they said they have done raw food before). We had packaged it all up for them so they only had to dump the whole container into the bowl, but when we picked him up he had 2 containers left over, which meant he skipped two meals! We also had changed our date of pick up when we initially dropped them off, but when I called in the morning to double check about the pick up time, they didn't know we were picking them up that day. Also, when we arrived my dog didn't get a bath because they were waiting for a response back on what we wanted to do with grooming?? We had told them we wanted just a bathing at drop off and had double checked about it that morning. The main problem with this place is their lack on communication between the employees. read more

We brought our Lab in for a week stay and he now has a terrible case of Kennel cough even though his vaccinations are up to date. He 100% got sick during the stay because when I picked him up he was coughing uncontrollably during the ride home. We received no call while he was staying at the kennel to inform us that he was sick. I called the office and the person on the other line was "surprised" and she would let the owner know and that person would contact us. No call...nothing. Now we are a couple hundred dollars into Vet visits and antibiotics. This is the second time our dogs have stayed and contracted kennel cough from Green Valley Pets. Beware to all pet owners.
