But for the past year or so Ive had his vet tech or another vet Looking after them. Also nice people. I have had a few disappointing attempts to get my dog in. Once last year when my Rudi was dying from a medication I gave him. The office was closed and had to go to Northside and Dr. King met me at his office and saved him. Just this week Rudi was having problems breathing and had fainted the day before . I called to see if I could bring him in and they couldn't get him in for 2 1/2 hours. Once again Northside got him in sooner they treated him and he passed away at home that night. They called the next day to check on him and the Vet was nice and she was so caring. My other Yorkie Buckeye was dropping weight and not eating well before our trip to a Florida. I took him in and said I needed his teeth checked and blood work to make sure he was okay or to get medication for our 3 month trip. Well Buckeye got worse in Florida. Found out he had worms and a badly infected back tooth and his Kidneys were shutting down. I Called Dr. Bruce's office to see if his blood work showed anything and possibly got overlooked. Well she never took blood work. Dr. Dupree said his tooth had been infected for awhile and that should have been noted and treated . and if they would of done blood work we would have known before we left Ohio at least he would have something to compare too. Dr. Dupree said $1100. To treat him or consider putting him down. UGH my heart dropped to the ground. My Buckeye is still ALIVE because of Dr. Bruce. . He told me to give Buckeye Sub Fluids and antibiotics. And His treatment is working. My Buckeye has improved enough that we are not going to put him down. I love Dr. Bruce and would take my pets back to him. He is caring and easy to talk to. A few bad incidents don't define a business or a doctor. He has a very busy business and I now know to have an emergency vet for back up.

The only downside I've encountered is that the wait can be long- even with a scheduled appointment. Their prices are low and they provide excellent care, which makes them very popular. One time I brought my dog in after he had been attacked by another dog. He had extensive injuries. When they saw he was bleeding, they immediately moved me to the front of the line, gave him emergency surgery and kept him overnight, for a mere $500. The emergency vet would have been thousands more. They're not an emergency vet, but they saved my dog's life and continue to take care of my 16 year old. If you can be flexible regarding wait times, they are top notch.

I would advise anyone considering using this veterinary business to do your homework before taking…read moreyour pet to them. First, check rates. I found that their fees (both services and products) are 33% to 66% higher than most other veterinary hospitals. I have taken my cat to some top veterinarians and top hospitals (for example, Ft. Collins, CO Veterinary University Hospital as well as some wonderful local Veterinarians in Ohio ) and I have never been so grossly over-charged. It's important to note that I would not have known that I was over-charged if I hadn't had to take her to a specialist in Centerville, OH the day after my visit to Veterinary Associates. The bill from my visit with the specialist was one-third the cost and the services were similar -- certainly enough to compare expenses. Neither visit to these two veterinarians was an off-hours emergency visit. I can't speak to quality of Veterinary Associates because I used them only once. I did feel that treatment was a little aggressive -- they wanted to hospitalize my cat for four days (I declined). She was given medicine and released to me after being there for several hours. I was shocked by the bill for the services as it was significantly higher than what we discussed. When I asked about this, I received a half-hearted apology with the explanation that they "forgot to quote the price for certain services." I called the veterinarian's office and spoke with the receptionist and asked to talk with someone regarding their prices. She stated that I would need to address this issue with the office manager and offered to take a message and have her return my call. To date, I still have not received a return call. I called again and asked for the name of the manager and owner of this business and the receptionist refused to provide this claiming that she is not allowed to give out this information. This, of course, makes it impossible for me to address my concerns to the appropriate management. Best of luck with the care of your animal.

We adopted a 3 year old female goldendoodle from a rescue from a puppy mill a couple of months ago…read more She is very timid and currently adjusting socially. Andrea and Venus were remarkable, comforting her with her first grooming experience since the adoption. She did really well with them and the grooming was superior. We are really happy and comfortable with leaving her their now with the friendly and warming care that they give. The grooming is superior. She feels great and looks beautiful. I highly recommend them.
