I was supposed to get $20 change but she said since I'm the first customer she would have to go to the store next door to get my change Red Flag #3: Calls me "baby" Red Flag #4-99: The massage was really just her gliding her hands over my body with baby oil. When I asked for harder she went from gliding to literally pounding. She complained that "I'm not strong". At this point I was ready to leave and then she asked me to turn over. Here she says that she pays for the room and that she wants a $20 "tip" (the $20 I was supposed to get in change). She tells me she will give me pleasure for the $20, or not, either way she was keeping the $20. I declined. I was sore and came for pain, not a handy. Then she became abusive and tried to talk me up for more money. She said "I want you happy" so I said, give me my money back. At this point I was so mad I just got up and left. They placed us in the same room so that we could chat during the massages if we would like. They ask that you strip down to your underwear and knock to make sure you're ready and under the blanket before they come in. There was a good variety of massage lengths you could choose from. We did a 45 minute massage this time, but I'd like to do a longer massage whenever we return as it didn't feel like there was enough time/focus on certain parts of the body. The feet was just a quick two pounds of their fist, which didn't really do much for us. I had CeCe and my mother-in-law had KiKi. Overall, the massage was nice. I went in because my entire back, shoulders, and neck were an absolute mess of knots - turning my head was difficult, my shoulders felt like they were up to my ears, and my entire back felt on the verge of spasming. My session was with Stephanie, and she worked some deep tissue magic. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty sore afterwards but was expecting to be. But 24 hours later I can look over both shoulders with no problem, and my back feels much more relaxed! I found Main Street Massage from the good ol' Google machine and they just so happen to have an online booking system as well. Not only do they have massage therapy, they also have osteopathy services too. However, I've only used their message therapy services thus far. The first available massage appointment was with Loida. Loida was friendly and wanted to know more about me and we got talking about cupping. I've always wanted to try cupping but hadn't found somewhere for it. Loida use silicone cups on me, she says they're training ones to work up to the proper ones. It did hurt (it's supposed to), but the pain was manageable and the areas that were cupped felt much more relaxed afterwards. I also got an appointment with Sarah and she is also wonderful. She didn't use the cups on me, but all my issues were addressed. She didn't press to make small talk and sometimes I enjoy that because then I can focus on my breathing, since I tend to stop breathing when the RMT gets to a difficult spot. While I do already have a dedicated RMT, I am now adding Main Street Massage Therapy to my list for when my RMT is super booked up and I need an appointment sooner rather than later.
