One of the best massage experiences I've had in the GTA. Hidden in a small plaza, they create a great relaxing atmosphere. Everything is clean and calm. The actual massage service is stellar. Honestly it the only massage place I've ever returned to. Price is a bit higher but you do get what you pay for. Some ppl post about their 'mandatory gratuity, which is actually optional. They do a good job (at least now) with being transparent with it, and I have spoken to the massage therapist and they confirm they receive it. You have the option to reduce or completely remove that as well. This is full RMT and they send an email with the signed invoice. read more

The receptionist speaks fast just like a machine about this rule - but I did not miss when she said "20%" - I asked for clarification then she said, "then15% ok"? and said gratuity is mandatory. Nice place but I was lowkey scammed. Lovely place, clean, quiet, and good RMTs. I've been here twice and my issue happened the second time. I called and booked a 30 minute appointment over the phone with an additional 15 minute on service; 45 minute appointment total. When you book, you don't get a confirmation text or email until the day before your service. The confirmation text had no detailed information, and the confirmation email had confusing information. Mainly, there was one section of the email which I said I had a 45 minute appointment (correct), and another section of the email which said I had an hour long appointment (incorrect). I got to the appointment, had my massage, and then was charged for for the hour long appointment instead of the 45 minute one which I had originally booked. This was likely an error from the person who did the booking. This was upsetting because I'm paying out of pocket so I purposely chose to have the lesser time. I still paid as the RMT did the service, but if you are thinking about booking here, please call or ask questions if something doesn't look right on the confirmation email. read more

I have been searching for a new massage place by RMTs for quite sometime now and decided to try this out due to the Yelp reviews. Thank you everyone for the reviews because Tsingtao Wellness Spa is now my FAVOURITE spa for massages in all of GTA! I am quite picky when it comes to massages. Tsingtao is not like other Chinese spas; their customer service, quality of the massages and just their overall cleaniness of the place have definitely exceeded my expectations! I've had 3 different services now (foot reflexology, therapeutic massage, swedish massage) by 3 different RMTS and all of the massages were excellent! As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a friendly staff and she will then give you slippers to put on. I love that during the treatment that they don't talk to you and respect your time to relax. They do ask whether the pressure is okay (which I really appreciate) and sometimes they will adjust during the treatment if they feel that you are feeling uncomfortable with the pressure. I especially LOVE that the place is super quiet and even if there are customers coming in, they try to keep the place quiet by whispering or speaking quietly with them. I ABSOLUTELY HATE it when I hear people talking loudly at the front desk and it makes it worse if the walls are super thin too. The entire place isn't like those western luxurious spas where there are hot tubs, sauna/steam rooms or even showers. But I am just there for massages so those amenities don't really matter to me. However, at the end of the treatment, you are always given a sweet tea! In regards to the price, it is based on the duration you choose and I find it quite comparable with similar Chinese massage places. They do emphasize on gratuities but I don't mind since the staff does provide really good customer service. I have already recommended this place to some of my friends and coworkers! read more

I really want to give this place a good review seeing that the place was clean and the one staff working there (I came on a weekday afternoon ) was nice. But that isn't enough for me to give it a 4 star. The massage itself was ok, I had better. But two things happened that made me dock points . 1) the door was locked when I arrived 10 minutes early. They had a sign out saying please call it door is locked as there could be a treatment in session. When she opened the door, it was only my masseuse there and no one else that was just finishing up or there were no signs of any other patients. If you know you have an upcoming patient then have the door unlocked, or don't sound confuse when I called. 2) after I paid , she had the audacity to say "we normally charge a 10-15% gratuity for massages with RMT receipts" . What? Call me cheap, but usually I only tip on massages in real spas - elm, body blitz, massages in hotels - those that provides additional amenities. What did this "spa" provide? She offered me tea while I was paying (so I didn't even have a chance to finish that cup of tea). Oh sorry forgot to mention they did have a locker for me to put my coat and purse inside..but I didn't get a robe (standard spa) . FYI - When I go for real clinic/thereputic massages like Sutherland Chan downtown, I don't tip them, and they still do an excellent job and gave me a RMT receipt (which is a requirement) plus a robe and water while I wait! They also have a shower! Tsingtao wellness & spa isn't really a spa , I see it more us a nice zen clinic. If they want to be a spa, then I have to say it's the most limited spa I've been to. I'm giving this place a 3 star because my experience was ok until the end but I'm not coming back again due to point #2. read more

I've finally found my go-to place for my massages. The moment you step into their space, you're greeted with calming music, beautiful asian-inspired decor and infused scents. What was most impressive is the quality of service wherein I could really tell that they care about their clients and were respectful towards the customers. It's really the little things you notice from the staff member quickly closing the doors that customers would leave open, to gathering the slippers off the floor right away as people left. I waited only 10-15 mins (as I was early), and my masseuse apologized for the "wait" and lead me straight to the convenient lockers and then to my room. Also, their bathroom is the cleanest facility and you can tell they regularly upkeep it. They even have one of those "emergency buttons" beside the toilet (I imagine it being helpful for the older clientele) The massage itself was amazing! Keiko asked what my preference was and I was automatically at ease and comfortable in her presence. I'm the type of person who hates talking during massage sessions and Keiko was respectful but also made sure that the pressure was okay by asking. I didn't get the usual spiel I get from therapists by commenting on my tattoo or saying that "I have so many knots/I seem to have a lot of tightness in my shoulders" (I hate when therapists do that cause for me, it implies that I should be going more and I feel it's sometimes a sales pitch if done in a non-genuine manner). I opted for their therapeutic massage and it was a great balance between deep tissue and relaxation. The heated bed and the silk sheets are a wonderful touch, and I felt like I was melting into the table by the time we were finished. I was then given a very tasty tea, and the person handling the transaction was respectful enough to let me finish my tea before discussing payment. They then told me about the birthday discount wherein its 20% off a treatment during your birthday month. Upon leaving, the staff member walked me to the door (again, a wonderful touch that shows they appreciate your business). The massages we received were amazing. Once we arrived, we were offered tea and given slippers. They have lockers for your coat and valuables. You keep your clothes on when you enter the massage room, no bathrobes here. The rooms are tastefully decorated, nicer than some of the full service spas I've been to. We opted for a couples massage, but the room has sliding doors to allow for conversion into two single rooms. With the doors open, I didn't hear anything from the other side (where my SO was enjoying an equally satisfying massage by Sheng). And the massages.... I had put that I like 'hard' pressure on my form and Keiko did not disappoint. She concentrated on the areas we talked about prior to the massage. Pure bliss. I will definitely be back! read more

Sigh. So I did really like this place, but I recently had an experience here which makes me feel like I won't be coming back again. 1 - Tipping is not optional - After my massage, I went to pay. However, after my massage I was asked if I wanted an RMT receipt. I said yes, only because I wanted a receipt - I do not require a receipt to get reimbursed by an insurance company, as I pay for my massages out of pocket. I paid the price on the receipt, and did not tip, as I was told over the phone that it was inclusive in the cost. I sat down, waiting for the payment to process, and she called me out for not tipping, while there was another person there in the reception area. It was very embarassing, and made me feel super anxious. She actually asked me if I had some sort of issue with my massage, as it's customary for guests tip 10-15% for massages with an RMT receipt. At that point tipping did not feel optional, and I felt compelled to tip the suggested amount. I'm not sure if they provide regular non-RMT receipts, and really wish they would have given me an option if it meant having to tip on top of a service that is inclusive of gratuity. 2 - I had washed my hair before my massage, and put it in a ponytail to keep it protected. However, I was not aware that a scalp massage was part of the service, and really wish that I was asked if I wanted it before she started. My hair was an oily mess afterwards! read more

I LOVE IT HERE! :) I'm so happy I found this place. Usually we go to Elmwood during civic holidays however finding this place has been a blessing. It's near Scarborough, RMT massages (yay if you have benefits), GREAT PRICES ($90 for 1 hour long RMT massage is freaking amazing), and very professional staff. I really like that they have late hours too as they are open till 8 everyday (except closed Tuesday). It's awesome to not have to worry about parking (big lot & free), worry about being half an hour early (just be there 5-10 min before), and know that the cost is not paying for frills. There's no pool or sauna but I don't care because my insurance isn't gonna paying for a pool or sauna lol. Sheng and Keiko are awesome. My fiance and I have gone to them 3 times now and every time it has been great. I like that there is a connecting room for couples as well. Their massages are strong and of course you can tell them to adjust the pressure to your liking. Can't wait for our next appointment :) read more

My boyfriend and I got a couples massage here and it was like the best massage we both ever got. They really maximize your time there. It's in a kind of sketch plaza in the middle of nowhere but it really is worth your while to come here for this. The massage also runs a lot cheaper than most places, probably because they don't have water therapy. It's expensive if you are looking for a medical massage but trust me it's so worth it! Brought the boyfriend here for a couples massage, did the basic RMT one. Although it's in the corner of a tiny, almost sketchy plaza, the experience otherwise was very pleasant. The place smells nice and relaxing. Decor isn't fancy, but everything was clean and nothing was tacky. They give you a questionnaire that asks for your preferences and target locations. We were placed in 2 connected rooms with sliding doors. The RMTs are very professional in terms of etiquette so first impressions were great. I opted for light pressure since my last experience at another massage parlour felt like I was brutally beaten up as a home wrecker and was hurting all over for days. It felt just right at the moment, OH SO RELAXING, I didn't want it to end, but 1hr flew by. Afterwards, they give you this really tasty ice tea as they check you out. They were very careful and confirms your information to be right for insurance. In hindsight, we both should have opted for stronger pressures since it felt great at the time but the stiffness in the shoulders came back very soon. It is such a great spa, I am so glad my friend introduce me to this place. The service was amazing, very friendly nice staff. Their techniques are really good. Therapeutic yet relaxing. I frequently visit spas in downtown but it's such a pain to have to drive to downtown and find parking. Now I think I will become a regular at this location. The staffs used to work at Shangri-la hotel's hammam spa before they opened their own place, I guess no wonder why they are so good! Best massage I ever had. Had the 90 minute aromatherapy massage. RMT was excellent. Atmosphere was very tranquil and enjoyable.

I love this spa! When you enter you instantly feel the calming effect, soft tranquil music, steam rising from a humidifier, very friendly staff ( Sheng and Keiko ), you are offered an amazing Chai tea before and after your massage. I've been twice already and have another massage booked in a couple of hours, Sheng is amazing, she doesn't look it but she is very strong, I have had to ask her to ease up a couple of times in the tender spots on my back. She always eases up just the perfect amount. The rooms are amazing, the tables are heated and nice and long. I am 182cm / 73 inches in height, my feet do not come off the end of the table. The sheets are very soft, the attention to detail has not been overlooked. I've been to a few massage therapists and most are good to very good. You leave physically feeling better. At Tsingtao when I leave I fell amazing physically, mentally, and spiritually. Usually when I get an hour massage by about the 45 minute mark I start to think about what else I need to do that day. I came in with extremely tense muscles and my masseuse listened and walked me through the treatment and even gave me advice post visit.Its always hard to find a masseuse who has the right pressure and makes you feel relaxed. In addition I get an RMT receipt. The place is clean and well maintained. I've already recommended two people and will be back for more treatments in the future. Chose this location as its nearby. Across a school in a small plaza. Only opened two years ago. Decided to give it a try. Went in the first time and didn't enjoy my massage as the masseuse I had was hurting my back. I had to direct them to stop as I was in pain and left with a few bruises. I decided to give it another try but selected a different masseuse (Keiko). She was attentive and communicated with me asking how the pressure was, where there was tension, stiffness etc. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with her. Things this spa can add/improve on. Have the guests sign in and then offer to take their jackets, shoes, or make use of lockers. I literally had to walk into a room and hang everything on a hook on the back of the door so even having extra chairs in the room would be helpful. The bathroom is clean and spacious, however, there is only one and no showers. I left the massage covered in oil on my hair and skin. It'd be nice to have this amenity to clean up afterwards. read more

This is definitely a no-frills spa - no pool or sauna, bathrobes etc - but everything they provide is excellent. The place is very clean and the atmosphere is very tranquil and nice. Their tea was delicious, and they offered light refreshments that came with our package. Their prices are very reasonable, there is plenty of free parking, there's no need to arrive super early, and their great customer service was an added bonus. I purchased the Zen revival package which advertised 60 minutes of body massage, 15min head and 30 min reflexology. They do not tell you that those are appointment times not massage time. It starts from the moment the therapist come out to greet you, any getting ready time, waiting time or washroom break you take in between would take up your massage time. I wasn't able to look at the time for my body and head massage but it finished exactly an hr and 15min from my scheduled appointment time so I'm sure the massage time I received is way less than advertised. For reflexology I paid attention to the time I only received 20min massage time, 5min soaking and another 5 min waiting. I find this is a rip off especially they charge you a 15% mandatory tip for good service. I don't call this good service. The receptionist became very defensive and condescending too when I questioned her about this. I still tipped the mandatory tip because I don't want to argue with her about that since seeing some of the comment regarding tipping. Overall my worst massaging experience will not come back again. The lava shell massage was great and they were very polite. My only issue was at the end when paying I was not given the option of what tip I wanted to offer as the travel zoo voucher said tip on the full value. I paid $75 to travel zoo so they charged tax on that amount, but they automatically added a tip of 20% on the full regular price of $124, and I was not offered the option of 15, 18,or 20% . Not only that be careful because they auto grateful the tip there is also an additional tip value that I was able to decline...seemed shady to me. Sorry but true. I won't be going back. read more
