I don't leave reviews often but I was so bothered by how unserious and unprepared this coffee shop is. The people who go here are 95% in line to get a sugary iced beverage not a real coffee. You can tell within moments of entering and reading their menu. This isn't a coffee shop it's a dessert beverage place who dabbles in coffee. Don't believe me? I ordered a latte and asked the gentleman if the small has a double shot or a single shot of espresso, a very basic and simple question. He responded "i don't know." I inquired about the various sizes and amount of shots and he again replied "i don't know" then he said "if the latte doesn't have espresso i can make sure they add it." I said "your lattes don't already come with espresso?" He once again said "i don't know." (Obviously all lattes come with espresso) . He never bothered to check either. My niece proceeded to ask what flavors their macarons were, it took them asking 4 employees to give her an answer while the line piled up behind us Again this isn't a serious coffee shop, just one masquerading as one. Bland The building is new, and the food is great and tasty. That's where the good ends. I circled around the block three (!) times before finding an unmarked parking lot. First time, I even got into the drive-through line by mistake that took forever to get out of. Inside, it is not clear how things work. There is a mac&cheese line that I did not need. The customers helped me. The staff was busy with some "emergency", and I stayed unattended for 5-10 mins. The coffee was not as expected. And they did not have cream - I had to ask. My sandwich, while tasty, was very simple - bread, some spread/sauce, a lot of spread, and meat. Not what you would expect for $10. The building, especially inside, lacks character. read more

It pains me to leave an unfavorable review, but since I've had several issues, I wanted to bring this to someone's attention so improvements can be made! Out of the last 4-5 trips through the drive-through, I've experienced an extremely long wait time -- and I'm usually driving through between 6-7:30 PM when there isn't typically anyone else in line. This evening the car in front of me was waiting at the window for at least the 8 minutes I was behind them. They had even turned their car off, so I expected it was a large order they were waiting for. Turns out it was ONE drink. When I finally got to the window for my drink I was handed the wrong size, which has happened three out of my last five visits! I do not understand how you place your order, they read it back to you exactly as you ordered, and the product is wrong when it's given to you. The response was 'oh, sorry.. well, I rang you up for a regular' and made no effort to correct it. Sadly, I've noticed a distinct decline in the drive-through efficiency with this new location, and it appears this location was intended to handle the larger volume of drive-through and inside customers. I am very disappointed and while I know it won't make a huge dent in the profits for GreenBean, I'm not sure I will be as loyal of a customer as I have been. I truly hope this is viewed as constructive criticism as I go out of my way to support local businesses. I'm just concerned that this got too big too fast as the 'devil is in the details'! read more

Great coffee house in Altoona! They have a double drive thru which is great, but the inside is so spacious, clean and comfortable. Grab a parking spot just behind the coffeehouse and go inside to meet with friends or find a quiet spot to get some work or reading done. We ordered a couple of house brewed dark roasts along with a cinnamon roll and lemon-blueberry scone and it was just what we needed to get our morning started. I was traveling through the area, wanted to get a good non Starbucks coffee so I pulled out my Yelp app and found this place which has great reviews. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing (a cappuccino), but the coffee tasted really burnt. Also she asked if I wanted it "wet" or "dry", I said wet since I'd prefer more milk, but she wrote dry on the cup and that's what I got. This is such an awesome place, only open about a month as of this review. A wide range of selection from regular stuff to the gluten free jazz some people need. This is a single brand-new location but the owners have done such a good job that it looks like a franchise set up. To say I'm impressed on how nice it is would be difficult :) This is a stop we make fairly often and I hope they grow it as it's definitely a great model. Greenbean has my favorite beverages in Altoona. I like coming here any time of year to work remotely. In the summer, they open their two large windows in the front of the cafe to let in fresh air. When I'm running behind but need a pick-me-up, the drive thru is very convenient. Greenbean does have its negative qualities too. I get that it's called Greenbean Coffee House. Small splashes of green here and there would be cool but all of the walls painted an obnoxious green isn't it. Every time I've visited Greenbeen the trash can is overflowing with garbage. This business is very lack in covid procedures. The interior appeared dirty the menu board did not face the customer you had to go behind the cashier to see the menu. My wife & I traveled to Altoona from Pittsburgh to visit family. I was told about this place by my niece and she was very excited to take us there. We walk in and my being a senior citizen with vision loss was unable to see the menu therefor, we were ask by the cashier who also said she was the owner told us to step behind her to see the menu. As we did she started to raise her voice and tell us she felt crowded but she herself was not following covid protocol. We all had masks on. I was embarrassed by her yelling and decided to walk out. She could have stated that she was uncomfortable in a better mannerism and politely. The U. S. Navy Veteran will never go back. The place was dark and dirty, the cashier rude and belligerent. I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone to this location of GreenBean Coffee. I did not get to experience the flavor of the coffee and our excitement was overcome by a woman who really should have her franchise agreement nullified by the corporate office. Every time I earn a free coffee and go to use it and the owners are not there they will not allow me to pay to get it a large size and pay to get a flavor added which there is literally a paper in front of their register that says I can. This is my favorite coffee shop in town. Their drinks are the best, everyone loves the Greenbean Mocha, a classic drink at their coffee shop. I love the Greenbean Mocha, but after trying every drink on their menu, all of them are amazing! The caramel they use on the Greenbean Mocha is somehow better than any caramel I've ever tried. The Chai Latte with cinnamon and whipped scream is one of my favorites also! It's delicious. I prefer to get my drinks iced here because the frozen will fill you up so fast. They allow you to get almost every drink either hot, iced, or frozen. Based on your preference. Every drink here is delicious though! I would recommend trying all the drinks. Their limited time drinks that they change during the months are always so spectacular too. Their walker drink during Halloween time was my favorite by far!
