We had Joel as our DJ for our wedding recently and let me just say.... he is fantastic. We found Joel on the Preferred Vendor List from the venue we booked. Let me just say... we made the right decision to have him. I was shopping around for package deals for wedding (which includes Photographer, DJ, Photobooth, etc) and found a place that I can get all for a really good deal... but after reading reviews and comparing outcomes of photos and reviews, I decided to go a different route and I couldn't be happier. Joel knows how to read the crowd and play music that got my friends dancing all night long! We had a face-time meeting about a week before the wedding and I told him what kind of music I would like to hear. Being first time on planning, I didn't know much and want him to take the wheel on it and feel out the crowd. Through out the night and even after the wedding, my guest gushed about how much fun they had at my wedding. We worked with DJ Anthony Conforti for our wedding at Mercury Hall. We were a little nervous about hiring a DJ, as we have been to some weddings where the DJs were really corny, announcing every event like a WWE match and playing top 40 BS. But Anthony totally nailed it. We met before the wedding to make sure we were on the same page in terms of song versions and feel of our wedding. He listened really well and did an amazing job. We had a kind of weird first dance (we weren't comfortable dancing by ourselves so we had family and friends join us on the floor one by one) and he helped pull that off without it being as weird as it could've been. (On top of it all, he's just a great dude. We really enjoyed talking to him.) We have some pretty weird taste in music (i.e. not all danceable) but he did an amazing job of playing the right song for the right moment. He kept our guests on the floor all night. We loved being able to go through their online library and pick out the music we loved and liked so he could get a good feel for what we wanted. They also have a "hate it" option. I'm so glad I didn't have to hear "Baby Got Back" or "Billie Jean" at my wedding. We rented uplighting from him and it was a really great move. Mercury Hall is beautiful, but it needs a little something extra at night (in my opinion). We wanted to keep our decor to a minimum and the uplighting added just the right feel to the room without us having to keep track of more crap to hang up. He was also familiar with the venue and helped us lay out the space. In short, I will happily recommend Anthony and Greenbelt DJ to anyone who asks. read more

We had a final Skype call a few weeks prior to the actual wedding. As far as the actual wedding day went, we didn't have to worry about a thing- which is obviously what you're looking for in a wedding vendor. Greenbelt's online tool is super handy and I definitely recommend inputting songs that you like and dislike so he can get a feel for your taste in music. Erik takes his time to compile great playlists based on your inputs. We also had a few unique requests for him as we were trying to incorporate some multicultural aspects into our wedding. Erik went with it and our guests had a great time - we could tell he was having a great time too! My only minor complaint is that my husband has a somewhat difficult name to pronounce, so he said it wrong throughout the night. It was three hours into the reception and people were still dancing. Hard. Although it was close to midnight (and everyone should have been burned out), you couldn't get our guests to sit down. We booked Greenbelt DJs for our wedding and couldn't be happier with our decision. Anthony was our DJ. We began interacting with him months before the wedding. We exchanged emails to coordinate the time and date for the ceremony, but for the details, we set up a Facetime conference since both my wife and I were living out of state. I was nervous, not sitting down with our DJ face to face. I quickly learned, however, that I needn't be. During the conference call, we discussed the schedule for the reception and music preferences. Of course, this was our first time planning a wedding. Consequently, we had a bunch of questions. Anthony immediately showed that he was a professional and had loads of wedding experience as he calmly offered us advice based on what he's seen. He wasn't pushy and made it clear that this was our reception, but when we asked for recommendations, he gave them. Choosing music was fun. Anthony went through a number of genres and songs in order to figure out what kinds of tracks we would like played; his "left and right limit," if you will. We gave him a couple of "must plays," but chose to rely on his expertise when it came to the majority of the evening. We didn't want to give him so many "must play" songs that he wasn't able to judge what to play based on what he saw throughout the night. We weren't disappointed at all. Anthony chose the perfect music to play at the perfect time. He began with some older dance classics for the elder generations at the wedding and very carefully transitioned into some more modern music. He blended together several different genres as we had people from across the country there. The slower songs were mixed well into the faster songs. I heard many people saying, "this is the best wedding ever!" as the evening came to a close. I have no doubt that it was because of the mood and energy that Anthony created with the music he chose to play. Of course, as the groom, I was free to request whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. He even found and played some of our more obscure song choices. When you're preparing for a wedding, the details you have to plan add up. Flowers, the ceremony, colors, photography, the menu, the schedule, the rehearsal dinner, welcome bags, the cake, the groom's cake, etc. A good DJ makes things easier by helping you with some of these details easing your mind that the "party" part of the evening will be handled by en expert with lots of experience. A bad DJ will make you worry about song choices and how he will handle the role of MC. On a scale of horrible to excellent, Greenbelt DJs was amazing. read more

We loved Joel! I am pretty sure his is a one man operation, although I think he has other people that also work with him on bigger events. We hired him to DJ our wedding party last winter, and he was great. We wanted a DJ that would show up and play the kind of music we wanted. No frills or special requests, just music (oh, and we did get some lights). We met with him before we hired him, and he provided us with an estimate based on what we wanted. The price was very reasonable, and we were very happy with the results. Joel braved the (freezing) temps to play the kind of music we wanted (mostly 80s and some international music). Joel was our DJ for our 3/16/13 wedding at the Barr Mansion. He took care of EVERYTHING and I had to do very little in the music planning area. During the planning process he is VERY responsive to emails. He had suggestions for songs so we didn't have to research it ourselves. A few things really impressed us... When our wedding party got ahead of the music, he was able to adjust and skip a song at the very last moment. When my dad and I realized we should've practiced our dance (we're not big dancers), Joel caught my look of dread midway and closed out the way-too-long song early in a way that no one could even tell. I never knew how important a DJ was until I started interviewing some for my wedding. Most gave no direction or any ideas of their own, but Joel was completely different. He had every piece of the reception broken down for where we needed specific songs. I never thought about a song for the cake cutting, but he was there to guide us. He helped us figure out how to shorten our songs for our first dance and he provided feedback on all of the songs we chose. He had very original ideas that really made our reception a hit. We've officially been newlyweds for 126 days and within that time frame we have praised the genius that is DJ Anthony & Greenbelt DJs...126 times. Literally, it's daily. Our friends, our family, our neighbors who were not even invited to the party know how great these guys are. It was EPIC...it was basically Vegas...it was OUR wedding. My husband and I live in Minneapolis, MN and were married in Austin, Texas which is approximately 1,000 miles away. I married a music nut, literally he is obsessed. With that we had our work cut out for us in identifying who we would trust with the biggest decision of our reception, the music. We depended on the best wedding planner in Austin (Jennifer Seals with Pearl Events) who referred us to Anthony Conforti. Anthony was patient, kind and always available. He knew he had his work cut out for him when he sent us the top 200 songs that are played/requested at a wedding. My immediate reaction, THIS IS AWESOME. My husband's? "Oh, heck no, not a single one of these will be played at our wedding." Ding, Ding, Round 2! Anthony was able to guide us in the right direction for the mood we wanted during the various portions of the event. He was available for Skype meetings and never laughed at my comments (which at one point included "well I loved Train Drops of Jupiter in high school"...don't worry that was vetoed quite quickly). He was always professional, did a perfect job of blending music and kept people on the dance floor until the moment it was time to leave. We were lucky to have more than 100 guests fly from all over the country to be with us that day and DJ Anthony made their trip worth it. He is already legend in Minneapolis though he may not know it. As a Bride there are a lot of moments when stress gets in the way and you can't relax and enjoy yourself. I never had those moments with the music. Joel was the DJ for my wedding reception a few weeks ago and he was absolutely fantastic. First, he is an excellent communicator (unlike some of the other wedding vendors I worked with). He responded to all of my emails quickly and also suggested a face-to-face meeting before the wedding so that we could walk through the timeline and talk about my music preferences. Joel was also very accommodating to some special requests that came up during the wedding. I had a band play during dinner and he worked with them to make sure that their sound was set up properly and to hand off breaks so that the music was never interrupted. Joel also accommodated my last minute request to have my sister sing to a karaoke track for my first dance with my husband. Finally, Joel did a great job with the music selection throughout the evening - mixing my choices with guest requests and his own selections to create a great dance soundtrack. We worked with Anthony for our wedding and hands down one of the best decisions we made when it came to choosing vendors for our wedding. From the jump Anthony was professional, kind, and thorough. We had an in person visit with him a few weeks before the wedding to go over our song choices and our overall vision for the wedding. We left with complete trust that Anthony was going to deliver and that our guests were going to be up out of their seats for the party. Let me tell you, he absolutely exceeded expectations. From my 80 year old grandma to our 3 year old flower girl, there was not a single person in their seat once the reception started. He chose songs, worked our "must plays" in and created a flow that kept all generations engaged just as we had hoped!! The wedding was 12 days ago as I type this and we are still receiving compliments about Anthony and the music. Not only was Anthony an amazing DJ that night he went above and beyond by making himself available for additional help we needed throughout the night. We wouldn't even consider anyone else!
