Choosing LNFE was one of the best choices we made for our wedding! We wanted our wedding to be extremely fun and full of dancing-- and our DJ gave us just that! We absolutely loved our experience with Look No Further! We used them for our wedding & our reception was an absolute blast. They were a joy to work with & they were super accommodating with all of my song requests & when my husband wanted to plan a surprise serenade with some of his groomsmen. :) After the wedding, we received an entire MP3 of both the ceremony & reception so we could relive the audio of both celebrations - what a great keepsake! My only note is that the recessional music was played a little too late/too softly, but maybe that was due to a miscommunication. They collaborated with us several times before the wedding, and had an easy to use website for us to choose the songs we wanted played for specific dances, and to pick the type of music we wanted played at the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception. It was awesome how well it was all organized. We were also able to get our uplights through them, which I highly recommend!! Ric did his whole set up prior to any guests arriving, and set up all the uplights for us! They were so easy going, easy to coordinate with, and a ton of fun to have at the wedding!! This review is loooong overdue, but I was just listening to our wedding mp3 and was reminded of how much I loved our celebration, and how Look No Further was truly the icing on our wedding cake. My husband and I hired Ross to DJ our reception and we hired Laura to do the "day-of" coordinating. We absolutely believe that the success of our wedding was due in (big) part to Look No Further's amazing, attentive services. We received numerous compliments from our friends and family about how our wedding was one of the most fun weddings they'd been to, and they loved the mix of country and hip-hop music (my family and friends are from Vegas, my husband's family and friends hail from Texas and New Mexico). Ross was given a last-minute, short must-have playlist to work with, but he magically put together the perfect "soundtrack" for both the dining and dancing portions of our wedding day. We also have been telling all our newly engaged friends that the best decision we ever made was hiring Laura to do the day-of coordination for our wedding. I didn't have to worry about a thing the day of my wedding -- Laura made sure everything was set up and happened exactly the way I wanted, and she refused to let me do any setup work and instead ushered me to my bridal suite in order to just relax and enjoy my wedding day. When we met with Ross in person for our wedding, we were very excited. He was fun, had a great energy and demoed his style live during our first meeting. Senaida was great for contracts and details and Ross was great was totally cool when we told him we'd also have an electric violinist playing with him at the wedding. He was one of the vendors I really wanted to work with and to make things even better, he looked incredibly sharp for our NYE black tie wedding! The only thing I was worried about the night of the wedding was our bridal introduction and new year's countdown sequence since it had not been confirmed or practiced beforehand, but overall, I felt confident about the night. Due to lack of microphones at our venue, we paid LNFE for our ceremony, even though we had a string quartet for the actual music. Ross was great micing up the officiants and ensuring we had great sound. However, through the rest of the night, there were some hiccups: - During cocktail hour, we practiced our bridal party introduction that went directly into our first dance. The one thing that bothered me was that Ross blasted our first dance song over the sound system so that everyone in the cocktail hour could hear it on the other side of the wall. I was under the assumption that sound check had happened hours earlier, not while my guests are in ear shot. - The music during the dinner portion of the reception was great: Adele, Sinatra, and everything in between. Exactly what we wanted. However when we wanted to transition to dancing, I asked him to play more dance music and he was quizzical because he told me he was playing dance music. With very few people on the dance floor, I provided a few suggestions of songs that would help transition the mood to get people up on the floor. It was great for awhile, but then a few too many slow songs were thrown in at what I felt were odd times. We'd get all amped up to dance and then the mood would be slowed down. In the planning portal, we included a variety of "must play" songs, many were slower country songs, but I thought it was obvious to play a majority of those during the dinner portion. There were a few too many times that the crowd's energy dropped because the music was transitioned. It was not ideal. -Then there was the worst part. I'm not sure why the DJ table was a few inches behind an important electrical plug, or why the plug was not taped down so it could not come loose, but not once but twice someone on the dance floor tripped over a plug and the music went silent. Literally, no music. Perhaps the wedding planner from Pearl Events should have identified the problem, or perhaps Hotel Ella's staff, or maybe LFNE, but it was not acceptable. If that wasn't bad, when it happened the second time, Ross scolded my attendees. I know it was frustrating for him, but the reaction was horrifying. I am giving three stars, because Ross was flexible with playing with a violinist and with flutterfetti being shot out everywhere at midnight (all over his equipment), he clearly tried to be communicative and he gave us a nice discount due to my husband being a veteran. From his reviews, his work is great, but unfortunately I did not experience that for my wedding on 12/31/18. read more

Our guests RAVED about what an awesome party our reception was. Then, three of my friends booked him for their weddings. He is that good. Ross is not some dope with a microphone. He's a DJ. A real live, turn-table, DJ. He will listen to what you what your reception to be and feel like and make it happen. I honestly believe that choosing a DJ determines what your reception will be. The equipment he brought was AMAZING, he helped me with other parts of my wedding that had nothing to do with music like helping me with the itinerary/timeline and he had me and all my bridesmaids letting lose on the dance floor in no time at all. We contacted Ross because of all the awesome reviews he had on multiple sites. I was very torn about hiring a dj for our wedding because I did not want any cheesy music or dances. My fiancé met with Ross and was very impressed by his professionalism and style. He provides you with an awesome website where you can choose your music and let him know what songs are a definite "no". You provide him with the details of your ceremony and reception as well on his website. Right before your wedding he will call you to double check the details with you. When he arrived at our wedding for set up, he even offered to help us with last minute decorations. When my husband and I started planning our wedding, one of the most important things to both of us was the music. We both LOVE to dance and have always had the most fun at weddings where everyone joins in the dancing and we had that vision for our own wedding. So thank goodness we found Ross and Laura! Ross is an absolutely incredible DJ! We had a five hour reception which is definitely on the longer end and when it ended at midnight, we still had almost all of our guests out on the dance floor having a great time. He knows exactly how to gauge the crowd's interest in songs and create the right flow to build into an awesome party. My husband and I literally didn't sit down the entire evening and most of our guests didn't either - not just the young guests but all of our older family members/friends too! Ross and Laura of Look No Further were absolutely incredible. I should mention that I first discovered Ross when he DJ'ed my friends' wedding. He was so good, and the music was so fun, that I said, "That's who has gotta do my wedding!"--and I wasn't even engaged!!!! Talk about awesome. Ross's prices are very reasonable and he even worked with me to make sure his setup would work for my venue--even offering not to charge me an extra set up fee because we only needed a feed for one particular dance. How kind and accomodating! Meeting with Ross was amazing--every little detail was attended to. He knew all the right questions to ask, even things that I hadn't thought of, and trust me, I had thought of everything! He didn't mind that even one day before the wedding I was changing my mind about a certain song and he went right along with it! He was always super easy to get ahold of, even when I had to reach him just a day before the wedding. LNF's planning website is amazing as well. You get to make a list of "must play songs", "try to play songs" and even "do not play" songs!!! Super super easy for those of us who like to have control over every little detail. I loved how Ross created a loop of my favorite song for our entrance--it was timed perfectly. Ross let me have all the creative control I wanted, yet was able to suggest songs or an order of songs when I wasn't sure what to do. His professionalism shines--this guy knows how to DJ! He even DJ's professionally at a fancy club in downtown Austin regularly--so his equipment and expertise is really top of the line. I should also mention Laura, who emcee'd my event. When one guest wanted to make a surprise speech, Laura made sure to clear it with me first! Not even my day-of coordinator, but with me personally!!! That was service like none other, and I'm so thankful she ran it by me first, because we had a very specific plan for who was speaking first during the toasts!!! Finally, the best part was their uplighting. Ross so kindly gave us uplighting at no extra charge, as they wanted to try out their new lighting system, and I can't thank him enough. My event would not have looked NEAR as beautiful without this soft ambient purple lighting. It was something I never would have paid for, and it was my absolute FAVORITE part of the decor. I highly reccomend spending the money--your pictures and everything will look so amazing.
