I only go to him because I've been going to him about 40 years. My main complaint is the women…read morebehind the reception area. Barbara is the only one who seems to know what she is doing. She's been there forever. The rest of the women are new or part time who don't know what to do, or are there temporarily who can't wait to quit. One called me to say my script was ready. I came in, they couldn't find it. I said, you called me. She said, I never called anyone, I wasn't here. (You just called me an hour ago! ) Another time, my mom couldn't find important papers at home. She called the office to see if maybe she left them there. The girl said, "Oh, yeah, uh, uh...it's in your folder" Instead of calling us at home, saying "You forgot your papers, we will keep them up front for you". The one young girl wears her medical pants low rise so I can see her butt, and she measured my bp wrong - the blood presure wrap was so loose on my arm that the reading was totally off, "Well that's the reading I got, that's what it says" (sarcastically, annoyed) No way that's my blood pressure number. The usual wait is about an hour. Why make an appointment at a certain time if you have to wait around an hour or more? That's your typical doctor's waiting room.

I have been going here for years and nothing has changed-The staff at the desk is BEYOND rude and not helpful AT ALL. Dr. Roth's office overbooks and the wait is always over 20 minutes to an hour. They do not respect your time AT ALL. One of the nurse prac. dresses very unprofessionally and jokes around with other staff while waiting to be seen. I have a rather complex medical situation and they take the time to really take care of me. They do this with all their patients. They are caring and knowledgeable. The one thing thats worth making a note of is you can expect long wait times to see the doctors. This is because of the personalized attention they give to each and every patient. As long as youre expecting it, its not that bad. When it comes to doctors these are the best primary care physicians around. With hours Monday through Saturday, it is relatively easy to get an appointment if you are sick. They even have blood lab right in the building. I highly recommend Smithtown Medical Associates!

I have 1 complete physical a year, and after that I meet with the PAs, Jennifer or April. The entire team is so professional and knowledgable. They spend as much time with you, as you need. I wouldn't think of switching.
