I've had frozen cauliflower crust pizza better than this. It was so disappointing because it was better when we first came here. No one thought their food was good. I should have taken it back but it was after a hard day of work and I was just too tired to complain. My beer was good thank goodness. The place is beautiful . It's just a shame the food is so bad. They need a chef . This place could be fabulous with a great chef . Or someone who knows how to make pizza . I won't go back . I gave them a good review the first time I went. Sorry not this time. Very flavorful and we ended up grabbing two bottles to take home. During the summer they will have special nights where they cook out on the grill maybe ribs or burgers but you have to sign up for reservations if you're planning on doing this. We got lucky the night we went and they were nice enough to give us the burger special since the rib dinner reservation was all booked up. Not horrible but not to my liking. They have a handful of other wines. You can try and taste just ask. The issue was really the employees. I thought they were abrupt and kinda rude. They proudly display their well earned awards and the lady who helped my mother and I was very knowledgable. I loved how they clearly had a sweet scale and weren't either pretentious nor poetic in their descriptions which gave a very clear expectation of the tasting profile. I ended up buying a bottle of their Forte Venango which was a fabulous port. I found it smooth, sweet but not super sweet, and very tasty! While I opted for the wine flight trying pinots and the malbec my mother opted for a wine slushy. She very much enjoyed her wine slushy as we discussed wine. I was sorry to hear that they no longer made ice wine due to lack of popularity. My mother said that they had the best ice wine. It was a fantastic stop on my wine tour!

It looks like an old barn, and you could see the vines as soon as you drove in. There was also a nice seating area to the side. Unfortunately it was too cold to sit outside, so we made our way in. The tasting room is small and unassuming, though the staff was friendly and personable. After our tastings, we went into the seating area. There was really nothing to it-some old couches and tables that looked second hand, concrete floors, and a bathroom that had a portapotty inside (yuck). Overall, it felt like an old, cold basement where you didn't really want to hang out. On the plus side, the wine was really good. I rarely go to wineries in Ohio and enjoy each wine in the tasting, but I did here. My mom and I even want to go back before the holidays to buy some bottles as gifts-that's how much we liked it. Overall, I'd say the wine makes this place worthwhile, but come when it's warm and sit outside or take your wine to go.
