This week I happened to go to this restaurant twice. Once with a friend and once with a group. Sat inside on the first visit. Very inviting we sat at a table with a cloth table covering some tables had them and some didn't but it worked aesthetically! I ordered fish and chips came with coleslaw and fries. My friend had the Lobster rolls with sweet potato fries! My fish and chips came and the fish was ok but the fries were soggy and the coleslaw I didn't even eat it just looked bad. I should have returned it but I had not seen my friend in a long time and didn't want to make a fuss. I had told her I had the lobster roll before and it had been good. When hers came I would have never guessed it was lobster . It looked like small tiny pieces of the leftover lobster from inside a shell . Wasn't chunks of lobster. For 25 dollars I would rather get one roll full of big chunks of lobster and even pay more for a better lobster roll. Very disappointed . You have a beautiful facility and good service but disappointing food . Came back on Friday with a group of people only because I had made reservations and could not change them in time . We sat outside this time in a high top table. It was a beautiful evening. We would have stayed longer but the chairs were so uncomfortable we left as soon as we were finished. Our service was great can't complain about that . Most of the food was ok . I had tuna on top of my pasta the tuna was very good and the pasta was good just a little dry it could have used a lot more sauce . Maybe some good rolls or garlic bread to go with it. Same with the salads that a served you really need something to break up the monotony of eating pasta or a salad without a nice piece of bread to go with it. Just a suggestion because that's one of the comments from most at the table that had salads or pasta dishes . We ordered the homemade chips as an app for the table they were good everyone enjoyed them . I love the place it's very nice . Again get the food right . Especially the lobster roll. Put something in it that resembles lobster . Charging the same for one good roll is better than two bad ones ! read more

We went here with another couple. We were all set to enjoy a nice meal and some wine. Our server had the disposition of a cigarette butt floating in a saucer of cold coffee. After we were seated, The server put a family with a belligerent child right next to us, and the little girl whined and complained and screamed the whole time. This definitely affected our experience. We started with appetizers of Hot peppers in oil, and Buffalo Cauliflower. Both were good. For entrees, the ladies both chose the Roasted Baby Beet Salad. The gentlemen opted for the Herb Roasted French Dip sandwich, which were served with Au Jus, and shoestring potatoes. We both agreed that the sandwiches were good. The bottle of wine we ordered wasn't the best, but we drank it without making a fuss. The place is nicely decorated, but because of our poor experience with the server and the table next to us we didn't have a good evening dining here. Probably won't be back. read more

Great time for dinner. I got the white wine flight and sat outside. We got the hot peppers and oil for a starter. It was really good and spicy. I then got the short rib sliders special and it came with truffle fries. Very good!! My husband got the chicken ciabatta sandwich with sweet potatoes fries. Which was also big and flavorful. If I could leave zero stars I would. 7.30 reservations for a party of 8 and we stood in the cramped entrance for 15 mins being told our table was getting set up. After being seated at 7.45 our drinks were finally brought at 8.15. At 9.30 we had to ask when our dinner was coming. By the way, they close at 10. We finally received our food, but had them box it up and we left hungry. Our bill was $132... we will NEVER darken your doors again and we promise that we will be sharing this horrible experience. I came to Candywood with a group from my sister's wedding for the informal after party. She had had a disappointing experience with her wedding venue that kind of soured the end of her reception, so we packed up the gang and relocated. Not to be dramatic, but this place really turned the night around! Obviously, we stayed dressed up for the party, so she walked in, wearing her gown, and the hostesses were cheering and smiling and telling her how excited they were that we were there. They popped us into the little private room right by the doors. Service was prompt and friendly, the wine was enjoyable, and they let us hang out. They managed to hit that sweet spot for a large party where you feel that the restaurant is paying attention to you, but also very unobtrusive and you can relax. We ordered most of the appetizers. My mom loved the lamb lollipops, my BIL seemed very happy with his hot peppers in oil. Everyone enjoyed the shishitos.... I had a glass of nice Riesling. Overall, we just had a really nice time, even if I was ready to change out of my dress :) Also, plenty of parking and an awesome patio read more

Poor service that I blame on the kitchen and NOT our server. Reservations for 6:30 pm, seated immediately and meals were not served until 8 pm. There were 8 of us and 7 meals served while the remaining meal arrived between 10-15 minutes after the rest of us. The place was not packed. Won't return. read more

Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Our party of four had reservations for 6:30. We were 10 minutes early yet they made us wait another 30 minutes before seating us at a table which was empty since we arrived. We went specifically for their Tuesday lobster roll special. We were told they were out of it. So, two of the four of us decided on a Caesar salad. They were out of that too. At that point the 4 of us walked out and went to Leo's. Just not feeling it. I don't know what the buzz is about. Took a little longer than usual to get seated then the owner sat us. The server was very sweet but had to ask for ice & straws. The hubs got the linguini & white clams & cod filet on top. He said he would give it a 4.5/5 -no bread or salad. I ordered the sirloin -rare & it came with fingerlings & asparagus. I'm giving it a 3/5. The steak was medium so I had to find some rare meat-3 bites. Asparagus thick but good. The waitress never came back to check on us or rectify the steak. She was also the busiest one there. We tried because it's locally owned. Not really a winery. read more

We've been here now twice and were very satisfied both times! The place has nice intimate setting, the staff is very helpful and the food was excellent. They have a nice little craft beer selection for us non-wine drinkers. My wife likes their white sangria. She had the margarita flatbread and she thought it was a little small for the price but she thought it was very good. I had the burger and it was cooked perfectly and was very tasty! The hot peppers and oil are always on point and the little roasted kale sprouts are delicious! We can't wait to go back and enjoy the patio! read more

This was my third visit here with the last two being under the new owner. As we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked if we had reservations of which we did not. We thought well, we're going to have to wait but this was not the case. She asked how many we had and sat us immediately. Win! We were taken care of by a wonderful young waitress where, although very busy on this Saturday night, we were not disappointed by her level of service. Plus, she was friends with my son in high school so there's that. Now to the menu. That had a pretty good selection of beers on tap and in bottle to include craft beers and of course their wine list was pretty diverse as well. For apps, we chose the calamari which was ginger seasoned and served mixed with banana peppers and a Thai chili sauce. I fond it to be pretty damn tasty and nice touch was that the slices of banana peppers were also breaded liked the calamari itself. Our friends had the peppers in oil which were also damn delicious. For my entrée , I decided on the fish and chips. The fish was blood orange beer battered Cod and perfectly fried. It was accompanied by a creamy Asian slaw and shoestring french fries. All was delicious. My wife decide on the blackened sirloin which was a 6oz. cut from locally sourced Angus served with herb roasted potatoes and seasoned kale sprouts. The steak was perfectly cooked to my wife's preference of medium and was very tender, of course I had a bite. The roasted kale sprouts were new to me and man were they pretty damn tasty as well. This place didn't disappoint and we are looking forward to out next visit. We especially will be going in the summer months as the outdoor seating is very inviting and overlooks what use to be an 18-hole golf course. Food was overpriced and bland. No flavor at all...my fish was way to overcooked and had not one bit of seasoning inside of it ...the calamari was ok..but had rely on the sauce to hold it together. My girlfriend salad was plentiful...but there were apples and a hair in it also. The staff was really nice though and then scenery was lovely. I wanted to love this place so much but it wasn't a good experience for me. The staff was so nice. They have a decent charcuterie board but for the cost it was smaller than other places i have been and i order one whenever i can. Their calamari was cooked perfectly and i totally recommend but it was a very small amount for the fact it was an appetizer. Their sweet wine flight was good and they give you a good amount for the cost. My family ordered the blacken salmon, the filet mignon, and the meatloaf and they were all pleased. My one child ordered the cheeseburger flatbread and it was good aside from the mustard aioli. It was not the best we've ever had. My meal was the crab stuffed branzino. I loved the veggies that came with it but the fish tasted really fishy like it was not cooked properly. I was unable to eat it. I let my waitress know. When we received our check it was still on but i did take a few bites of it and i did eat the potatoes and what i think was roasted kale(it didn't matter what it was bc it was good and i was starving). It disappointed me that the full cost was left on. So for a wrap up, order the filet or salmon or meat loaf because they were great and cooked perfectly. This is a really cute place with so much potential! We ate outside on their patio which was very socially distanced. They had a guy playing music and he was good, very entertaining. The food was great, everyone loved their meal. Our server, Isaac, was very sweet. The service, and it might have been because of the kitchen not being able to handle the amount of people, was way off. They brought the charcuterie board with no plates, had to ask for them. Our dinner arrived before the salads, they came two at a time and my husband never even got his salad. Table was never cleared till the very end, we had to pile up the plates ourselves and the drinks took forever to arrive. Other than those few minor details the place was great and the atmosphere fun! Beautiful winery on the setting of an old golf course. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The food what delicious, tastes just as good as it look if not better! We wanted to love this place so much because we love going to wineries. One thing I didn't pay close attention to is that it is a wine CELLAR not a winery or vineyard. So all the wines they have are all wines you can purchase at the store. The biggest turn off for me about this is that we paid $22 for a bottle of wine that is $10 at the store (we didn't know this until we researched afterward) our waitress was extremely friendly and the actual service was great but the food is not good at all. We started out with the meatballs and ricotta as an appetizer and they were ok. I was more upset with the fact that the ricotta on top was ice cold like they had just taken a scoop out of the tub and plopped it on top to serve. My husband got the beer battered fish and when it came out it looked like two huge overcooked egg rolls. It wasn't even in the shape of fish. He cut the end of it and it was just solid hard as a rock fried batter with rubbery fish inside and then when he cut into the middle of it the fish was still rubbery but the batter was mushy and undercooked. So it was over cooked and undercooked at the same time! I ordered their lobster roll. It came out and looked delicious. I took one bite and not only was it bland and rubbery but when I looked down there was a hair on the plate under the food. Unfortunately for me once I find a hair I can't even attempt to eat anything else at the establishment. The manager was super accommodating and friendly. Adorable decor, waiter was amazing. But, why we will never be back is because apparently there is a 2 hour limit to be there. We made a reservation at 5. Ordered an appetizer, ordered our dinner and finished it at 6:30. We were told that we had 30 minutes to leave the table. Guess dessert and another drink were not an option. Talk about a lack of customer service and making you feel welcome. As a new establishment...good luck keeping your business going if this is your service mentality! We won't be back! read more
