    Lilly's white queso dip

You can't beat the price for food this good. I needed a quick bite and stopped in to Big Bamboo in Hilton Head for some munchies. Started off with a Tito's American Mule that really hit the spot. Lilly's White Queso dip was a creamy and slightly spicy treat. The fried coconut shrimp was done perfectly. I hear that there is nightly entertainment and may stop back later! Lucas, the manager/bartender, was attentive and very helpful.

We came in late on a Saturday night, and we were sat immediately inside. I didn't love the flashing/twinkling lights all around the bathroom door, which we were facing, but other than that, the ambiance was great! There were tons of TVs, tables inside and outside, a stage and a full bar. A band was setting up when we got there, and they were still setting up when we left so we didn't get the chance to hear them. For a meal, I got the hang ten plate with chicken. It was really fresh and much needed after a weekend of fried food. The chicken was extremely flavorful and the rice hit the spot. My boyfriend got a burger and devoured it! Service was great and we didn't wait too long for our food to come out, which was great on a Saturday night.

I came for dinner with my family. The atmosphere, decorations, and service were excellent. Entrees were okay. The food was not the greatest but was decent. The fries were my favorite food item: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I recommend Big Bamboo for drinks and bar food, but not for dinner.

Stopped in for a quick drink and appetizer while shopping in the area. The drinks were good. As for appetizer, we settled with chips and salsa. The chips were extra salty, the salsa was very thick which I like. Service was great, we are not from the area, the bartender gave us lots of options for things to do.

The restaurant is on the second level so I'm not sure it was accessible for folks who have difficulty with mobility. The service was pretty good. The food was fine .. i had some tacos. The draft beer was decent. We had a largish group and so I am pretty sure we made it complicated to get us seated and settled. (Lots of special requests from our friends). The room was a bit loud but expected ... the band was warming up for the night and we were trying to eat before the main show. The night I was there, they were doing a fundraiser and had an artist in the side area ... and an incredible ice sculpture which was used to pour out tasty liquor.

Ambiance is loud and lively on the second floor (no elevator). Ordered the bbq bacon burger and it was a dang fine burger and those fries were the best ever, so fresh tasting and fried up crispy. Service was fine and we finished just in time to clear our table for the live band (didn't stay for that) Fyi, sister said the french onion soup was too salty.

This will be the 4th year in a row I have returned to Big Bamboo Cafe, I'm finally updating my review from 4-stars to 5-stars. This place is simply exceptional... it's a super fun dive bar with amazing food. Most notably their famous ribs as well their world famous chicken vindaloo, (never thought I'd be eating the best vindaloo I've ever had at dive bar. A must, this place is worth every penny.

We felt like we were in an island hut surrounded by bamboo plenty of tables inside and out. Service was very good. The Ahi wontons for appetizer were delicious. I had the Mahi for entrée and everything was fresh and delicious.

Arrived around happy hour, we were seated right away. My boyfriend who loves to meet and talk to people tried to talk to the server. He did not give us any friendly vibes and quickly disappeared away. We understand it was busy and it's not why we give this review. This was our first stop on our first night. We were easy to start our bar hopping shenanigans. So our sever came and got our order, she asked if I wanted salt or sugar for the margarita, I said sugar but continued to bring me a drink with salt... the painkiller they brought my boyfriend had way too much nutmeg. We wanted more drinks but she completely disappeared and forgot about our water we ordered before. We decided to fish another server down for our check and dipped. At least the live music was nice.

We went for Happy Hour and we're very happy we did!!! I had a $4 rum cocktail that was so good, I had to order another one. The people who work there are very nice and attentive. It's a fun atmosphere, with a long bar, and a nice outdoor deck. The prices at HH are hard to beat!

Just had drinks. Did not eat. Decor was fun. Seems to be a nice venue for live music. The staff obviously have fun working together and enjoy each others company.

I barely have words for how great this experience was but thank goodness I do otherwise a Yelp…read morereview would make no sense. We were skeptical about a jazz dinner but from moment one entering the space we knew we were in for a treat. It is a very small and intimate space and our group of 6 got a table right by the stage. Our server was amazing and the menu was epic - everyone ordered something different and so I can't highlight one thing or the other because everyone loved it all. Don't skip out on the after dinner drinks and coffees as well! The performers we had really read the room and picked up on the energy and went through a mix of classics as well as modern like Adele. Everyone was having a great time and even singing along when encouraged. It was a great evening! Tip: Do the earlier show and get there early so you can enjoy your meal in time for dessert and cocktails and coffee once the show starts!!

That alone would be a terrific accomplishment but when it is paired with the exceptional, savory fare they offer, the combination makes for a very special event. Their grouper or steak are always exceptionally prepared and delicious and if you prefer wine or cocktails, you have some delightful offerings. The service at the bar, or a table is wonderfully pleasant and very timely in our experience which we always enjoy. We feel the star here is the Jazz as this venue is small enough to feel the music move over you, around you, and through you which is exciting and delightful. These are very talented musicians that hit all the right notes. Their side comedy is always funny as well. Our last visit was on Valentine's Day this year (2026) offered an exceptional guest trio with their Pianist's Father sitting in the audience which was very touching. In our many visits here, over our decades living here in The Low Country, the Jazz Corner has delivered an eclectic evening which is always a thrill. So if you enjoy a romantic evening out with your special someone, we can highly recommend you visit the Jazz Corner together and feel the music overtake you. Enjoy!l

The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me.

We came for the music, and it absolutely delivered but so did everything else. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed and encouraged to slow down, relax, and truly enjoy the experience. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was exceptional, and the entire evening felt special. I ordered the Duke Ellington ribeye, and without exaggeration, it was the best ribeye I have ever eaten. As ridiculous as it may sound, time seemed to stop for a moment. Every bite was packed with flavor that hit something deep inside me and took me back to simpler times. It was one of those rare meals that becomes a memory. The experience was so good it almost brought a tear to my eye. Not because it was fancy or expensive, but because the level of care, craftsmanship, and excellence put into that meal was something truly special. My wife ordered the pasta primavera and she described it as simple, light, but packed with flavor. We stayed for hours vibing to the incredible musicianship displayed. The warmth of the staff felt like family. Wish we were local so we could make this a regular date night spot. Thank you for an unforgettable evening. We'll be talking about it for a long time.
