Love the place....love the food...and the service was amazing...we had the flounder and the red fish and really enjoyed it

Ambiance - first off, we ate indoors this trip due to the cool weather, and we were seated in the center room. String lights are a nice touch but not when they're flashing. Who wants to sit through a meal with flashing lights? Also, the women's bathroom entry door squeaks, and it was used often and is right by the center dining room. Menu - the online menu has not been updated for some time. We were disappointed in the very limited seasonal menu. Food - just ok, nothing worth the price Service - slow. When we asked for condiments, we were handed a nearly-empty bottle of ketchup. You guys can do so much better than this. read more

You can't beat the price for food this good. I needed a quick bite and stopped in to Big Bamboo in Hilton Head for some munchies. Started off with a Tito's American Mule that really hit the spot. Lilly's White Queso dip was a creamy and slightly spicy treat. The fried coconut shrimp was done perfectly. I hear that there is nightly entertainment and may stop back later! We came in late on a Saturday night, and we were sat immediately inside. I didn't love the flashing/twinkling lights all around the bathroom door, which we were facing, but other than that, the ambiance was great! There were tons of TVs, tables inside and outside, a stage and a full bar. A band was setting up when we got there, and they were still setting up when we left so we didn't get the chance to hear them. For a meal, I got the hang ten plate with chicken. It was really fresh and much needed after a weekend of fried food. The chicken was extremely flavorful and the rice hit the spot. My boyfriend got a burger and devoured it! I came for dinner with my family. The atmosphere, decorations, and service were excellent. Entrees were okay. The food was not the greatest but was decent. The fries were my favorite food item: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I recommend Big Bamboo for drinks and bar food, but not for dinner. read more

Stopped in for a quick drink and appetizer while shopping in the area. The drinks were good. As for appetizer, we settled with chips and salsa. The chips were extra salty, the salsa was very thick which I like. Service was great, we are not from the area, the bartender gave us lots of options for things to do. read more

The restaurant is on the second level so I'm not sure it was accessible for folks who have difficulty with mobility. The service was pretty good. The food was fine .. i had some tacos. The draft beer was decent. We had a largish group and so I am pretty sure we made it complicated to get us seated and settled. (Lots of special requests from our friends). The room was a bit loud but expected ... the band was warming up for the night and we were trying to eat before the main show. The night I was there, they were doing a fundraiser and had an artist in the side area ... and an incredible ice sculpture which was used to pour out tasty liquor. read more

Ambiance is loud and lively on the second floor (no elevator). Ordered the bbq bacon burger and it was a dang fine burger and those fries were the best ever, so fresh tasting and fried up crispy. Service was fine and we finished just in time to clear our table for the live band (didn't stay for that) Fyi, sister said the french onion soup was too salty. read more

This place is simply exceptional... it's a super fun dive bar with amazing food. Arrived around happy hour, we were seated right away. My boyfriend who loves to meet and talk to people tried to talk to the server. He did not give us any friendly vibes and quickly disappeared away. We understand it was busy and it's not why we give this review. This was our first stop on our first night. We were easy to start our bar hopping shenanigans. So our sever came and got our order, she asked if I wanted salt or sugar for the margarita, I said sugar but continued to bring me a drink with salt... the painkiller they brought my boyfriend had way too much nutmeg. We wanted more drinks but she completely disappeared and forgot about our water we ordered before. We decided to fish another server down for our check and dipped. The very limited menu doesn't offer many choices, they were "out" of several items, and what they did have was completely underwhelming in both taste and presentation. Service was also only fair. Curry chicken, chicken bowl, shrimp appetizers, and fried fish sandwiches with some drinks. Everything tasted really good! I will say that the price was a bit high for each item (our fish sandwiches were over $25), and I don't think they were worth that much. But the service was great. We had high expectations for this place. They are in one of the most popular areas on the island. Went for lunch on a Friday. They had live music on the outside patio which was great. It wasn't busy at all, but service was severely lacking. Food didn't blow us away, but was certainly still very good. We will certainly go back and give it another try one evening to see if the crowd and staff improve, as I've seen in some other posts here. read more

If you are looking for something fancy, this is not your style. But it is a nice place to grab some grub while listening to live music on the patio. Building is old and a little dirty, but the food was good. Fish and chips were nice, fish tacos were AMAZING! But their burgers seem to be the main item on the menu and they were just meh . Hubby and I went for a late lunch very early dinner. We sat outside and enjoyed the music. Both of us ordered the Curry Burger. It was delicious. They use the same curry from their Vindaloo Chicken. I can still taste the curry and wish I had more. I should have asked for the curry to dip my fries. It was so good and we eat curry often. This was in a different ballpark. This place is awesome! My husband, toddler, and I came for dinner during a busy Saturday evening rush. The food was amazing! The Vindaloo Chicken was THE BEST!!!! I'm always on the hunt for good Spicy food, and they nailed it! We sat outside on the deck and the live entertainment was great! After dinner we dropped off our daughter, headed back for the night life scene, and it was so much fun, and well maintained. A great band, awesome bartender, and lots of indoor seating so you could relax or dance if you wanted too! We were here on Wednesday night/Reggae Night when they have live entertainment. The band was exceptionally talented while the dancing and fun was fantastic. The food was good and the service was just too. We tried the chicken taco platter, Stacy's teriyaki chicken bowl, which were both delicious. We had a little one with us too and there are plenty of selections on the Kid's Menu to satisfy picky eaters. If here in the evening, the music will get loud in the main dining area. This is a hidden gem - it's in Coligny Plaza, so you might expect it to be touristy and not great, but it's so good. Everything we've ever ordered here has been delicious, and they offer a wide variety. This time, we sat outside on the deck. We were originally seated at a hightop but my feet didn't reach anything to rest on comfortably, so we moved to a booth. The couple seated right after us did the exact same thing. Their hightops aren't comfortable for many people (I'm 5'4", average for a woman). I had the chicken tacos and my husband had the burger. Both were great and I highly recommend the pico di gallo - it's wonderful! Very fresh, with bright flavor. Inside can be VERY cold, so if you don't plan to sit outside, bring a sweater. We have shivered through a couple of meals here. They often have live music and the guy we heard was good. It's in Hilton Head's ultimate touristy spot. But it's so good. Don't miss. read more
