Both of my sons started at Greenland Daycare (formerly Dandelion) when they were 10 months and 7 months old respectively. I have known Maggie since the past 8 years....thats how old my older son is. My little one still goes to Maggie for after school-care, at age 6, and still looks forward to it everyday. While they didnt pick up as much Mandarin as I would like them to, they learnt a lot about diversity at such an early age. Maggie's daycare is like their grandma's place they look forward to go to where they can have a lot of fun. We are so blessed to have Maggie in our lives, take care of our kids like her own. Things I love about the daycare - its always clean, the kids are always well fed, there are always enough caretakers to teach the kids and above all, Maggie has a warm heart that embraces all kids equally. Looking back at this daycare I realized what a gem I had lost. After my daughter turned 2 I wanted to send her to a Montessori daycare so she can grow more academically. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience. I really miss Greenland and how they loved and took such good care of my daughter. I realized toddlers are very prone to bumps and bruises and it was unfair of me to place the blame on Greenland . To any mother wondering if Greenland is a good choice, I can not recommend this daycare enough! My daughter really thrived there, she is almost three now and still talks about ms Maggie (and her best friend Chester). This is a long over due review for Greenland daycare. My son began attending Greenland when he was 18 months and he stayed until he was 3.5 yrs old. I have so many great things to say about Maggie and the staff! They are caring and go above and beyond to educate the children. This is not your typical home daycare where the kids don't learn anything. The kids have a daily routine and are encouraged to learn shapes, numbers, etc through play. We were worried about potty training my son, but Maggie and her staff helped begin and facilitate the process until he was fully potty trained. They did an awesome job at training and this helped save us money when we transitioned him to preschool. We are so happy to have chosen Greenland daycare and our son still talks about Maggie very fondly. Knowing my son was at a safe place and had a wonderful time learning has been such a blessing. read more

I absolutely love Greenland daycare. Saying daycare doesn't even feel right because it feels more like dropping my 1 year old off to grandma. We're so glad we decided to send our daughter here. The teachers were super helpful in getting her through stages like toilet training, learning alphabet, group playing... etc. The at home atmosphere while developing academic skills make things seem much easier. This daycare is full of love and care for every kids. Whenever we talk to Meggie, we can feel how much she loves kids. She treats kids just like her own. When we drop our kids in the morning, they run to Meggie to hug her. When we pick up kids in the evening, Meggie tells us every little story on how their days were. We moved from outside of the US when our son was two year old and it was the first daycare for our son. When we just arrived, our son had a great difficulty to adjust himself to a totally new environment. He was extremely sensitive to everything around him. He didn't participate any activities at the daycare, but cried and cried. He couldn't take a nap, because he didn't want to lie down with other kids. Maggie hugged him sitting up for the whole nap time to calm him down for more than a month. Meggie was very patient through this transition and my son finally settled down. When our daughter was born, we sent her to a different daycare with company benefits. However my daughter couldn't sleep and couldn't eat properly. Can you imagine 6 month old baby doesn't take a nap for a whole day? The teachers just told us our girl is too sensitive and there is nothing they can do about it. We moved her to Meggie, and it improved right away. Meggie prepared a dedicated room for her so that she can sleep without any disturbance. Our daughter got a proper care and abundant love from Meggie. The daycare is full of safe and age-appropriate toys and learning materials. When we saw Meggie's garage, we were very surprised how much materials she prepared for kids. She regularly rotates toys in the classroom, so that she can sparkle kid's interest and keep them engaged all day long. Year after year, we saw all different crafts kids were making. Food is great. Our kid's favorite menu is fried noodle. They can easily finish two bowls and ask for an extra in the afternoon snack time. Meggie also prepares fresh fruit. Our daughter is definitely not a fan of fruits and vegetables, but Meggie knows how to encourage her to have some. We can't express our gratitude enough for Meggie. Our son was the first child at Greenland Daycare, having enrolled at 7-months old in 2012. Six years later, he now attends kindergarten, but we continue to send him to Greenland for after-school care. That fact alone speaks to the trust we place in and affection we have for Maggie and her team. They have fostered a healthy environment for engagement, socialization, and - now, for our son - learning. Mandarin immersion wasn't our primary goal when we enrolled our son; both my wife and I are elementary speakers. But immersion works: our son is now bilingual, and his Mandarin skills have long since eclipsed ours (to our chagrin). Maggie has taken care of our son since before he was able to speak, walk, or even form memories. She treats every child as the unique individual he or she is, deserving of care, attention and nurture, and we love her like family. read more

If I could give more than five stars, I would. In a heartbeat. I was actually quite against daycare when our first son arrived. I wanted a nanny who could dedicate their full attention to my child. However, my wife convinced me to at least consider a daycare. We went to a few, but I didn't like any of them. That is, until I met Maggie and her home daycare. I won't go into too much detail, but suffice it to say my son's been at Greenland since he was 6 weeks old, and is now 3.5 years. We have no intentions of taking him out of Greenland until he's ready for TK, as Maggie's curriculum overlaps most preschools as it stands. We even moved away further up the peninsula, yet we still drive him, every day, to Greenland. Our daughter, who just arrived, will be going here as well as soon as she's ready. read more

I rarely write reviews but thought to write one for the daycare. We joined Maggie's daycare when our son was 8 months old. We did not know anyone personally who sent their kid to this daycare and relied solely on yelp reviews so we were not sure how it would turn out. But we not only liked the daycare but it exceeded our expectations. Maggie and her whole staff is very loving and caring. Our son enjoyed the daycare so much that sometimes he refused to go home at the end of the day. We wanted to sleep train our son and had a specific schedule and Maggie followed all the instructions we provided her. She always paid personal attention to every child in the daycare. We always felt a very positive and happy vibe whenever we went to drop and pickup our son. Maggie's staff was very caring. There were times when my son did not eat properly and Maggie and her staff made sure to make it interesting for him to eat. We were relieved thinking our son is in good hands. Maggie used to share pictures and videos of kids all the time and it made us feel pretty good. Unfortunately, due to covid, we had to discontinue the daycare but we would highly recommend her! read more

Maggie and her team have been taking care of my 6 year-old daughter since she was 3 months old. They are always loving, caring, and pay attention to details. They always share what happened during the day when I go pick her up at the end of the day. My daughter loves this daycare, and she still loves to go back during summer/spring/winter breaks. Greenland Daycare is like home away from home for my 8 month old baby girl. Maggie is just so warm, loving and maternal while being very disciplined about routine around nutrition, nap time and play time for brain growth that is needed for infants and toddlers. I feel she and her helpers take better care of my baby than I could alone at home. The energy in this daycare is so joyous and cozy that I feel extremely at peace leaving my baby here. I cannot praise this daycare enough, my daughter has been going here since she was 4 months old (she is now 5) and is not treated like another kid in their daycare, yet as one of their own children. She is treated with so much love and kindness, and she loves to go back day in and day out. I am English speaking but chose to send her here so that she can learn Mandarin as well as English. And she has definitely learned quite a bit of BOTH there. They do daily activities from learning, reading, dancing, singing, naptime, crafts and playtime. They make every kids birthday special and celebrate each holiday that comes around. Although the teachers/providers are mainly mandarin speaking, I never felt that I couldn't communicate with them about anything. They are always available and show me so much kindness and support as well. If you are looking for a daycare that you can trust and feel confident/happy sending your child to...send them here. You will love watching their interactions with the teachers and watching their growth. Maggie loves kids and always greeted our son with happiness and enthusiasm. The facilities are clean and average for a home based daycare, and there is plenty of room indoors and outdoors. Plenty of toys and books, and her staff give basic English lessons although some of them speak little English. Maggie generally had 3 staff working with 10-12 kids, which I consider a great ratio for the cost of care. Maggie had excellent schedule availability, and apparently only took 2 weeks off per year in one block around Xmas. Our main reason for moving on to a commercial preschool was limited English communication with the staff, which would be no problem for someone who is a good Chinese speaker, or who does not mind some translating. I highly recommend Greenland. Our son still says he loves Maggie! read more

My daughter went to Maggie everyday full time from around 4 months old to almost 3 year old, she then transitioned to preschool. As a parent it is very hard to leave your child with someone else but what gave me comfort was knowing she was with Maggie. I only have happy and fond memories of this daycare and often think back to those days - my daughter who is now 5 and in kindergarten LOVES Maggie and still always asks to visit "Maggie ai-yi!" and go to her house. Maggie and all the aunties in this daycare are so loving and caring with all the kids. They give the kids fresh fruit, vegetables, cook meals, or you can pack your own, and stick to the schedule you request for the babies. They have tons of toys, books, and a variety of items to keep kids entertained and active. They also have a gated backyard for the kids. I liked that she was able to get fresh air everyday within the daycare and not have to venture away from the safety of the daycare. They also established a great nap routine for my daughter and would even braid her hair or tie them into cute pigtails. I felt they really cared for my daughter and it's the most any parent can ask. It's hard to find a daycare to trust and I'm very lucky to have found Maggie, if I had another child I would definitely send them here! read more
