Each time we stop in a couple times per month always find exciting deals. He will make you feel right at home. His friendly smile and welcoming spirit begs you to linger and marvel at items you won't see anywhere else in Detroit. He will warmly invite you over to enjoy one of his homemade daily muffins and chat awhile. The muffins are lovingly displayed under a glass dome...and boy are they fantastic! I had planned to spend about 15 minutes looking around here to find him a birthday gift. I ended up spending over an hour, and I could easily have spent three times that. There were not only so many cool things that he might like, but there was a lot that I liked, too. They have classic LIFE magazines and vintage vinyl LPs, lovingly sealed in plastic. Also, vintage movie posters, Star Wars figures, awesome posters from the Fallout video game series, TV show souvenirs, and a blaster that was used in the movie "Blade Runner". I wish I had taken a picture of it. It's listed for $675, and the proprietor said he wouldn't make much money off of selling it. There is also a rack of high-quality thrift store jackets. The prices seem very reasonable. A high-quality vinyl LP costs about $20, depending on the rarity. What also struck me was how clean everything is. I've seen so much thrift store stuff that needs a good cleaning. I accept that, but this is a nice surprise. I will probably start making excuses to visit my brother, just so I can stop by the shop.
