I couldn't go because there was no parking due to the taco festival. The structure parking is normally free for the first 2 hours but they were charging $15. I checked the Royal Oak farmers market website and called the phone number to find out details. Nothing was mentioned about parking which they should have warned people. I drove 20 minutes to turn around and go home. Of course I wasn't going to the flee market on Sunday. I didn't want to go to the taco festival. read more

It is a fun friendly diverse comfortable casual experience, with food venders & eateries as well. loving vintage retro apparel at low cost yet well made, mixing curating ones' attire & dwellings gives that 1 of a kind style & a bargain but it is ALSO keeping antiques and history, quality made to last, clothing, homewares, houseware and décor recycled upcycled re-imagined and makes 'living as art' with specially sought insightfully informed ways to protect production processing shipping transportation cost & pollutants. everyone needs to shop eat play locally. RO Sunday flea market is always good for a gander and even better for a bit of early morning walking too. An interesting stroll in the RO farmer's market on Sundays. Tables and tables of random stuff. Some vendors have clothing or apparel, others have more vintage accessories, jewelry and the like and others have records and books. I have yet to find a gem of an item yet, but still worth a browse for a short stint. My husband is enamored by the old school books and toys and relics of our youth. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Royal Oak Flea Market! Seriously, I am a Vintage anything lover from furniture, jewelry, clothing, decor, they just don't make stuff like that anymore. I have been to so many flea markets, yard/estate/garage sales and nothing compairs to this! THIS is the real deal, there is no junk/crap, here you will find REAL vintage treasures, cool stuff for every taste, had it not been pretty expensive and I lived closer I would have dropped some serious cash here. You won't find dollar deals but I walked away with a 1950's Gucci Bag from Ms (Bergdorff&) Goodmans private Park Ave estate. This lady had cleared out the home and sold here stuff here, it came with all the paperwork and I got her from $100 to $50 which really is the deal of a lifetime! I could furnish my entire house with stuff from here, its almost reason enough to move to Royal Oak just to get to go here every sunday! I went to the antique flea market on Sunday. There is a big parking lot, so it's possible to find parking close by easily. And the police station is literally the other side of the parking lot, so it's very safe. Inside the market is a bit chaotic, with a real mix of things. But I liked that there is very little brand new stuff; It really is a vintage market. Prices were all over the place. Next time I'm in Detroit, I will definitely go back. read more

The Royal Oak Flea Market is at the Royal Oak Farmer's Market on Sundays from 8am to 3pm. I feel it should be described to the tune of Destiny's Child's "Independent Women". Question: Tell me what you thing about ROFM (Not really a question, D.C. but more like a statement, but whatever) A rhinestone spider broach? They've got it. 1950's device for egg to poach? They've got it. A Barbie dream coach? They've got it. All the women, independent, throw your hands up at me! Just kidding. Don't throw your hands up at me. I never realized how dumb that song was. My point is that the ROFM has A LOT of stuff. You can find anything from antiques to junk. Most of it IMHO is overpriced, but sometimes you can find some amazing deals. The best part is that the booths are constantly changing so every week is a new experience. read more

The basics I don't need to describe in detail - they're listed below. Open on Sundays, plenty of parking, tons of vendors inside and out of the main shed, great location in downtown. For anyone that likes finding great deals on antique furniture, jewellery, clothes, music, movies, knickknacks, home accessories, and more, this place is fantastic. The 100+ vendors extend out in front of you in mouth-watering fashion, with great prices to be found everywhere. As in most flea-markets, negotiating is expected, and every vendor I've come across has been agreeable and friendly about the whole process. Ultimately, we came away with an entire car-load (I folded the back seat down in my hatch-back) of awesome side-tables, candle-holders, baskets, cool antique boxes, vases, home accessories and more for a grand total of $160! We probably saved ourselves a couple thousand bucks from the alternative of cruising antique shops and furniture outlets for vintage finds. I'll concede that the deals aren't always that good (the reason for 4 stars, instead of 5), but check this place out - it's worth your time. read more

First visit today, in search for a new mirror for my bathroom. I didn't find a mirror, but I did find a couple other great scores! The Flea Market is on Sundays inside the RO Farmer's Market. I was pleased to find ample free parking in the attached lot. It's not as huge on the inside as I had imagined it would be, but it is definitely a sizeable market. LOTS of vintage jewelry here. Also a fun mix of the crazy stuff you expect to find at any flea market: old photographs and postcards, collectables from the 50's and 60's, vintage clothing, knick knacks, glass stuff, etc. The vendors are all very friendly, and VERY willing to haggle. I was surprised how much they haggle here...many vendors would quickly offer half off of the marked price! I scored my treasure of the day for $25, haggled down from the marked $60. So stop by some Sunday, take your time to browse, and don't be afraid to ask for a lower price. :) read more

I'm a sucker for a black velvet painting or a retro ashtray to adorn my coffee table, so its quite often I venture to 11 Mile to the Royal Oak Flea Market to find treasures and trinkets. Open only on Sundays from 9 until 3pm this flea market is home to over 100 vendors, located both inside and outside(weather permitting). Vendors sell everything from antique dishes to musical instruments to collectible stamps and coins to jewelry for fair prices. Vendors are always getting new items so it's good to check this place out on a regular basis or else that buffalo nickel you've been endlessly searching for may go home with someone else. And who wants that? In addition, the flea market is close to Royal Oak's shopping district, so go celebrate that supreme find afterwards, at one of many bars and restaurants that line the street. read more

Going to the RO Flea Market has become a weekly ritual for me. Many reasons. It's close to my house for once, there's always plenty of parking, it has vinyl and lots of it, Herman's Bakery Donuts are always available, and the vendors are just plain personable and friendly. Variety of items is great. Anything from fixable collectables to refurbished antiques. Proximity to downtown is also a plus. Plenty of good brunch and breakfast places around to hit before or after. The Main Art theater is around the corner for a Sunday matinee. Just go visit, bargain and take something cool back home read more

This was my first flea market experience and I have to say it more than met my expectations. It was well organized, there were lots of beautiful vintage jewelry, vintage toys, clothing, etc. I found some old Pokémon cards for Xmas gifts and that was awesome too! I am an avid antique shopper and I loved seeing how knowledgeable some of the vendors were about their merchandise. Only points off for not accepting credit cards, square, or something to make shopping a little easier than to have to carry cash. I did find a wonderful new store called "Dirty Girl Farm" which is similar to Lush, but local and they have very original products. So excited to try it all! This place was magical when I was a kid. Baseball cards, penny candy, old toys, freshly baked good, and farm fresh fruit. You really could not ask for more when your 12. Nowadays, both the market and I have changed a bit. But I still like to come here and stroll around for the sake of nostalgia. read more

A great place for bargain hunting....everything from fine china to jewelry to children's books and back. There is a lot of diversity in the collection that the vendors offer, and they are usually willing to strike a bargain if you know how to approach them. So if your looking for a vintage antique then this is the place to go... if you want a steal on a vintage antique than this is not the place to go.... My Sister in law did pick up a fabulous black lambs fur coat for $85.... it was a super sweet coat but for me a bit over priced.... I like flea markets that put more of an emphasis on the "flea" rather than the "antique." I went to check it out to see if hauling my stuff there to sell would be worth it, I don't think the other vendors would look to kindly to my garage sale stuff among their high end goods.... alas... I am still looking for something that matches the studio 28th flea market in Grand Rapids on this side of the state... if you know of one send me an note.... Too many dealers selling jewelry at and above retail prices. Only one or two willing to dicker to a reasonable price. We drove 150 miles (round trip) and were only able to buy from one dealer. We are serious jewelry collectors so we will probably try one more time but will not recommend it to our friends. read more
