    Chair in our room.

The nonsmoking doesn't mean anything. The room smells terrible and every time the wall unit turned on more cigarette smoke smell rolled out. The 'chair' in the room was disgusting. My daughters room had gum stuck on the wall and then painted over.

Maget found in crawling on me in the bed

I was laying down then I felt something tickle my leg and it was a maggot in the bed striped the bed down and was hair and dirt in the bed and the people that was sleeping with me which I one other person we both took a shower before we went to bed sometimes it's good but not this time

    Pube covered cockroach...

I have stayed in A LOT of hotelsover the years, and the Greenstay in St. James is the absolute worst hotel I have ever been in. First of all, they apparently don't tell EVERYONE that they price match and I'm not sure if it is on their website. But if you're reading this review, now you know that they DO price match, and they will even price match their own LOWER rate. We came to town and booked within a block of rooms. We originally booked at $89/night with the room block rate. When we checked in, they price matched their own $54/night rate. We checked in a day before my mother in law did, and they did not tell her about their price matching. We told her about how we were able to get a lower rate and when she went to check out she brought it up and they refused to price match for her. They said they could not price match at check out because rates may be different and because she checked in on a weekend day and not a week day. We checked the rates for the next month, and they were $54 for every week day and $68 for every weekend. They still refused to apply the lower rate. Greenstay, as a whole, was absolutely disgusting. There was thick and obvious dust around the floor's perimeter. Due to the large gap under our door, every scent and creature will be sure to enter your room. You'll be sure to make best friends with the flies. We had no less than TEN flying around at any given time. Did I mention the dead cockroaches?! Although we did not find any live roaches running around our room, we did find tons of ants crawling on our sink, on the floor in the moldy bathroom, and into our bags. Definitely mold in the shower, on the shower curtain, on the bathroom floor, and in the room. The room was extremely musty and with the multiple ceiling stains, I'm sure there was mold hanging over us in the bed and spreading throughout the air. The multitude of stains all over the carpet made it impossible for us to feel comfortable enough to walk barefoot, and I partially want to burn my flip flops I wore at Greenstay. They place a paper wrapper around the toilet seat when you get there claiming that the toilet has been cleaned and sanitized, but when my mother in law first went to the use her toilet, she opened the lid to find poo in her toilet. Oh! Did I mention the cleaning crew quit mid-stay as well?! Not only did the cleaning staff not do an efficient job, they also don't exist anymore. The grounds were unkempt...weeds that looked like they've been growing since ancient times. Cigarette butts and trash all over the stairs, sidewalk, and parking lot even though there's buckets outside every room. There was a huge party of people in lawn chairs sitting in a circle in the parking lot on Saturday night and loud people yelling almost every night. Think you'll be able to relax poolside? Don't bring your swimsuit...the I ndoor pool has not been taken care of. The water was green and there was algae growing on the bottom of the pool. This was the absolute worst sleep I've had in years. I feel like I need a vacation after staying at Greenstay. Moral of the story: DO NOT STAY HERE, but if you absolutely have to, bring Clorox wipes, your own sheets, towels and pillows, because if you don't clean your room, who will? You'll also want to bring ant and roach killer so you don't bring those critters home with you, and be sure to PRICE MATCH to save money, because this place isn't worth $10/night.

Stay at your own risk. Take the extra 10 minutes on the highway and stay in Rolla or Cuba. This place is a disaster.

Right off the highway and near our relative's house. The hotel itself was new and modern. Love the decor. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a king bed and a pullout sofa. Having 2 TVs was nice to let the kids watch one and we had the other. Bed was comfy and shower was always hot. As for amenities, we used the fitness room daily. There was plenty of cardio equipment and my husband used the free weights. We planned to let the kids use the indoor pool but never got around to it. As for the breakfast, it is good. There is always some kind of eggs and meat (since we eat low carb, this is clutch.) There are also other options like homemade waffles, various breads, bagels, pastries, muffins, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal. One day they had cheese omelets but they were out. I asked a worker and they not only replenished them, she brought one over to me so I didn't have to get up. (So nice.) The workers here were all wonderful. Every single one of them were friendly and helpful. We definitely plan to stay here next time we're in town!

We got our Marriott bag of treats including a chocolate, bottled water and a popcorn snack. Dinner told us where the pool was. Let us know about the hours, and we enjoyed watching Toy story three on the large beautiful television in the lobby. The pool is magnificent: not too cold not too hot and the perfect size to swim around and have fun, but not gigantic and cumbersome to move around in. We stayed in the pool for a long time, swimming and chatting and having a ball. The next morning breakfast was from 630 until nine. There we met the wonderful Connie and Julia and eight are delicious. Very impressive breakfast. I don't even like cheese, but I couldn't say no to the jalapeño three cheese scones. It was amazing. We loved the two different kinds of sausage oranges bananas make your own waffles. Either large or four minis eggs muffins oatmeal the list goes on and on. I'm not a coffee person, but I had quite the impressive coffee bar that had people coming back multiple times. Also at breakfast, I was able to watch Tanya talk to what appeared to be someone who's there quite often catching up like old friends do. This hotel felt both like a beautiful palace but also a comfy bed and breakfast

The young gentleman working the front desk when I checked in was courteous and helpful getting me settled in. I booked a king room with a study. The room was large enough so I didn't feel cramped and crowded. I could spread out and get some work done. The room felt modern, the linens were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was pretty standard. My only complaint about my visit was the water pressure. I love a good hot shower. I tried different settings on the shower head but was disappointed. They offer breakfast and have a very nice selection. There are standard cold items fruit, cereal, yogurt, etc. there was a waffle station and meat and eggs. The coffee was the perfect compliment to my meal. I will be traveling this way again soon. I will be back soon.

My bar was a bit low when booking this particular hotel prior to our departure. Rolla is a mining area and not really a bustling spot for regular travelers like myself otherwise. Parked directly between Springfield and St. Louis though, it was going to be the ideal spot for us to wrap up 10 hours of driving that day. This Hampton Inn seemed to be the best option in the area. Clearly the most expensive hotel for Rolla, it appeared other options had exceptionally bad ratings or were super cheep road side rooms. Traveling with one other female, a kid and a dog, we booked the Hampton Inn because: 1) it would take a pet ($75 pet fee) 2) it had a frig in the room 3) assumed better safety based on hotel brand name 4) no other known option in my opinion I felt comfortable booking Small, friendly, easy, relatively clean, I found this Hampton Inn just fine. It includes breakfast every morning in addition to two bottles of water in the room. Priced a touch high for area, but not really though for being the best option in area and safety in the Hilton branded Hampton name. Carson who checked us in was friendly, welcoming and explained all we needed to know. Thanks Carson for the hospitality. No USB port options in room, which was my only noticeable con observation. The bathroom could use a little update, maybe some sanding down of the paint on the vanity that was pealing away specifically, but was clean, with plenty of towels and bottled pump shampoo/conditioner/body wash in shower. It was ok. It had a clock, when many hotels are doing away with these in today's world. With 4am wake up times, best to have options for alarms. Although we arrived late, I believe it also serves an easy dinner in the same area as they serve breakfast. Pictures look like maybe a simply pasta, some breads, etc. Don't let my 3 be a discouraging rating. It means to me OK good, not OK bad.
