These fellas kick ass! I've now used them twice. Both were sort of out-of-town-ish. Once into the burbs last year, and then this time when we moved back to Vancouver in June. The first time I used Greens I found them by chance looking at a storage company's site that suggested them. Since I had previously used another company recommended by a friend which sucked balls, I figured, I'd give a random place recommended by a company I'd never used. What hell, it's only my prized possessions and things I can't afford to replace right away, right? Their website suggest filling out a form about how much stuff you have, and any details you can give about where you're moving from and to, that might be helpful (flights of stairs, elevators etc). I took that to heart and gave them every last detail I could, to which Matt had said proved to be very helpful and was appreciative of how organized I was (A.K.A - Type-A, OCD etc!). The first move I did with them he sent 2 guys - both were efficient, friendly super nice guys that took a lot of care with my stuff. The move came in under budget, which likely was because I had helped and had also moved some stuff to my lobby, but whatever, it cost me less! The second move was coming back to Vancouver, and there was A LOT more stuff, and Matt suggested I use 3 guys, based on the info I gave him.I also asked for both the fellows that moved me last time, and fortunately one of them was available. It could have been a total nightmare move since the place we were moving from was this horrid big building with a massively long hallway a small elevator, and of course, someone else was moving the same day as us, even though I specifically chose a day that was before the end of the month so that was less likely to happen. In spite of these things, it went very smoothly, and while, yes, I was organized, it could have so easily gone bad. I was particularly stressed about my ginormous custom-made leopard print couch that I was terrified would not fit into our new place, given the building is probably from the late 40's early 50's and sometimes those doorways aren't so wide! But nope, a jostle here, a different turn there, a couple groans and it was in, no problem! I can't emphasize enough how top notch these guys are. There is no way I'd ever consider using another moving company unless I was forced to. This time the move came in right on budget, which I was also happy with because there were a couple factors out of everyone's control that could have made it a couple hundred bucks more. This review is long overdue and, considering after the heroics Jesse and Luke displayed to get our two sofas into our new apartment, I am ashamed it has taken this long. On May 26th we moved from Los Angeles, CA to Richmond, BC. I searched long and hard for an international moving company with a good reputation and personal service. And on the LA side we were not disappointed with the service we went with. However, everything about the Canadian side was a bit off. Communication, respect and customer service seemed after thoughts--and this was only after meeting the driver in Los Angeles. Our first impressions were confirmed in Richmond, when the team decided not to even try moving our sofas into our new home. They declared, before a box had been removed from the truck that there was no way either sofa could make it into the apartment. (Later, my husband heard one of the movers say to another that they had gotten a sofa for their home following a similar situation.) We had to put our sofas, still wrapped in the moving blankets in a holding bay in the commercial garage. Adding insult to injury, they made us pay for the blankets in cash. The building manager said we had less than two weeks to find people to help us get our sofas into our homes or into a storage facility. Depressed, we went to a pub, where I searched for movers on my phone. The word "Solutions" grabbed my attention, so I called and explained our situation. Michael calmed me down and gave us reason for hope. He even said there was a 95% chance they could get both sofas into our home. When Jesse and Luke arrived, we explained the situation and both men seemed determined to show us what true professionals can do. They got the first sofa into the elevator and dropped into its spot in the apartment in less than 20 minutes. No bumping, to challenges, no sweating. (This was the sofa that defeated the first movers, by the way.) The second sofa was a significant challenge. After a half-hour of trying to fit the sofa into the elevator, they gave up and brought it up the stairs. They carried it up 7 flights of stairs and into the apartment hallway. They needed just one extra inch of give that the elevator could not provide. Then they worked for another hour or so to fit the sofa into the hall and down into our apartment without damaging walls or fixtures. And they still had smiles on their faces once the job was done. When we move into our next home, this is the team we want on our side. We could not be happier. read more

Life got in the way as a major move approached, and Green's Moving Solutions came to the rescue. We sold our house and bought another while I was in a 24-7 work period with little flex time. Then my mother died unexpectedly, leaving an apartment full of possessions. To top it off, a moving company we thought we had confirmed fell through on us. Our moving day was less than two weeks away. Online searching immediately pointed me to Green's, although I did send out some inquiries to other companies as well. The morning after completing Green's online form, I was contacted by the owner. He had read my profile thoroughly, and helped me to determine a plan. We arranged two trucks (a large one with three men for our main house, and a smaller one with two men to pick up the things from mom's high rise apartment that needed to be deposited at our new place). The main job was bigger than planned, and the crews figured out on the fly how to address the situation: one of the trucks circled back to our house to pick up our garage possessions. Both our new and previous houses have three levels and there were some heavy things to transport up and down flights of stairs. Throughout it all, the workers remained cheerful and cooperative. Our 20-something daughter dropped by during the move, and whispered, "Where did you get these skinny hipsters?". They may have been skinny, but they weren't lacking in strength and stamina (I don't know exactly what a hipster is, so I can't speak to that). At the end of a very long day, as the designated leads sorted the paperwork, the crew ate the cobbled together sandwiches and (previously frozen) muffins we had hastily assembled for them. They were more than appreciative (starvation will do that to a person). This was our only time to chat, and it was then I learned about some of their individual aspirations and talents. Working in the moving industry, for them, is a means to a greater future. They shared that they loved working for the company and appreciated the work. How refreshing. Before sending them on their way, I dug into my wallet (freshly lined with crisp bills from the local bank machine) and gave them each a tip. I loved being able to pay by credit card, via one of the lead's smart phones. With the clearly posted rate schedule, there were no surprises. My receipt was emailed to me immediately. A job well done! We don't intend to move again for a long while , but we intend to spread the word about Green's. read more

Moving from one part of VanC to another area can be quite stressful. Even more so when having to arrange for a move to take place in 2 stages. First, arranging for some furniture & other personal belongings to be moved into storage, and secondly, making the necessary arrangements for moving the remainder of your 'stuff' to a new home the following day. Insuring that the stuff of move 1 and move 2, respectively, are kept apart , is often no small feat either. But, after our exceptional experience with the highly professional and brilliantly organized guys from Green's Moving Solutions, I have come to realize that even moving in 2 stages can be fun. It is actually quite simple. I believe that your moving experience really depends on the moving company's approach and professionalism. Matt's team (Justin & Zack) not only practically displayed their competence and experience by, for example, making suggestions as regards preparing and protecting our rather expensive, high-end furniture, Persian carpets and paintings for the move, but moreover, slaved away tirelessly & with great patience to assist us fitting and rearranging everything into our new house, situated in the tricky mountains (in the context of off-loading and maneuvering furniture, boxes and pets) of West VanC. Just as important was their very reasonable quote, along with the final invoice, setting out the costs we had incurred for letting these professionals taking care of moving our stuff in 2 stages: all and all, a trouble-free, inexpensive and simple process, well, that most certainly was the result of deciding to use Green's Moving Solutions. If by any reason I need to relocate again or have to recommend an exceptional moving company in VanC, I would not hesitate for one second to either contact Green's Moving Solutions to take care of my own move, or to recommend these brilliant guys to anyone who would prefer taking the 'stress' and costliness out of any moving endevour. When it came time to leave our downtown Yaletown loft for a quieter apartment near Commercial Drive, my fiance and I turned to the Internet to find movers. Our downtown loft had a very narrow spiral staircase and we were moving into a place that had a narrow staircase that led to three 90 angle turns. Plus, some of our furniture is large, bulky and vintage. It was something that I knew we couldn't manage on our own so we decided to turn to a moving company who specializes in such. I did a Google search for local companies and found about six or seven. I went through their "get an estimate" forms on the site, filling out the necessary information and including the difficulties that may be involved. I heard back from two. One was a "loosey goosey" email that pretty much said "okay" and the other was Green's Moving Solutions. One of the employees (or the owner) Matt CALLED ME, went over the difficulties I laid out ("Spiral staircases are always fun.") and gave me an estimate on what it would cost with two or three men on the job. A phone call -- that was excellent customer service. We went with the three guys for we knew we had heavy furniture and wanted to make it easy on us and them. The three guys that helped us took excellent care of our bulky furniture, navigated the spiral staircases perfectly and made short work of the crazy entryway to our new apartment. Our ENTIRE move from their arrival to walking out the door took THREE HOURS. Fast, efficient and they scored big on customer service. Matt and Chris arrived a little late as their first job took a little longer than expected. No problem, as they were courteous enough to call me and it wasn't going to be much more than 30 mins. Upon meeting the guys in person, I was very impressed with their light hearted attitude and sense of humour. The move didn't actually begin smoothly however, as there was no available parking in the vicinity of the building. Matt ended up having to park almost a block away! Even with the predicament of having to haul everything a whole block didn't seem to phase either one of them. Needless to say, there were some very challenging moments when you mix large furniture with narrow hallways and a tiny single elevator. Despite it all, both guys took everything in stride and just pushed on. In addition to the items from the apt, it was necessary to pick up additional items from a storeage unit on the way. The entire move took over 7 hrs! And that was their 2nd moveof the day! To the end their work ethics remained strong and never waivered. I would absolutely recommend their services without hesitation. Price is about $90/hr for 2 guys and a truck. A standard 1 br apt move takes approx. 3-5 hours. There is also a charge of 1.25 hr for return travel time. The rate is competitive with other moving companies, but with them.....you don't get Matt and Chris! read more

I reached out to the company for an estimate for a long distance move from BC to AB. Matt responded to my request within the hour, and although he let me know they don't do moves across the country, he not only provided me with so much helpful information about how to find a reputable company, he listed a bunch of tips and knowledge about how to safeguard my moving experience - like understanding that there are main companies and subsidiaries (so know if I am getting a quote from the company I am emailing or a contracted company); getting proper documentation, make sure they are insured (Canadian Association of Movers). This quelled my anxiety about the daunting task of undergoing more research. What drew me to inquiring with Green's in the first place was how I saw Matt reply to some less than favourable reviews (there weren't many) that were left on a review site (I tried to find it again but amidst all the research I've done I can't find it in my history). He was so polite to customers and seemed genuinely interested in clarifying/helping them, whereas with other companies they responded really rudely to customers. I wish Green's Moving Co. could have done my move, so whoever gets to go with this company is pretty lucky in my eyes. Thanks Matt! Choosing Green's Moving Solutions was the best thing I could have done. The whole experience was positive, professional and worth every dime. Matt and Frankie showed up on time in a clean truck (yes, this isn't always a given), and from the get-go they were awesome: there was no slacking off, no personal calls on cell phones, no smashing of stuff or precarious stacking of boxes. 2 minutes in, it was clear that I didn't have to hover or supervise the loading of the truck, so I got some last minute cleaning done, and we made good time. Once we got to our destination they handled the building stuff (I didn't have to deal with elevator locking, or parking or anything, I just went up to my apartment and got settled). The best part of it all is that the guys helped set up the bed (they are clearly well versed in IKEA), which meant that at the end of a really long day, I didn't have to tackle this dreaded task (or sleep on an air mattress). In the end I paid what I had estimated (no last minute surprise 'extras') - it was excellent value for money. I honestly do not have one complaint to make, and wholeheartedly recommend Green's, particularly if you are like me and want to have an organized, low stress move with some very pleasant people :)! read more

So I broke down and hired some movers upon my girlfriends request. I've been conning friends and family into helping me travel around Vancouver like a nomad for the last 5 years of my life, but no more. I tend to live a very minimul life and keep my possessions to few and far between. This company was perfect for that. On the phone the manager Matt put my mind immediately by letting me know the best way to prepare my place for a speedy load up and he did not fall short. They showed up and within an hour had our entire basement suite packed into there funky green truck. Whisked my stuff across the city to our new home and had the entire job finished in two and a half hours. They ended up charging us three and three quarters when all was said and done, as that is their minimum rate but big whoop. Moving historically took me 4 friends 3 pick up truck loads and a lot of rain soaked furniture. I have seen the light and I won't be calling out the pizza and beer labor force any time soon. The team at Green's Moving Solutions was incredible to work with! We hired Green's to both pack and move our home and cannot say enough about the quality of service received, and the professionalism of the team. I was nervous hiring packers, as I was worried I wouldn't know where to find our things when unpacking - these guys labeled everything to a T and were incredibly organized! When unpacking our 4 bedroom home not one item was broken! Prior to the move, Matt (the Manager) sent a very detailed and helpful list of what to expect with their services, as well as things we could do on our end to make the move more timely (and ultimately more cost-effective which was very appreciated). Within 24 hours our living room when from being stacked full of boxes to completely empty. They packed-to-move, meaning all the boxes were ready to go at the nearest exit making the move the next morning that much faster (and it meant we weren't living in chaos). Can't begin to recommend these folks highly enough. A work colleague had recommended them, and as my last move had been a mixed experience and other friends had horror stories, it was important to me to find movers that I could trust. I'm very happy to say that my colleague's recommendation was spot-on. The crew is incredible--Chilo, Matt, Thomas--and gets the work done quickly, professionally, and with real friendliness. Our move was a somewhat complicated two-part affair, with everything going into storage for a week before a longer move, and I'd underestimated the amount of stuff we were moving, but they took everything in stride. I'm now going through all our boxes and haven't found a single broken glass or damaged item, which wasn't a surprise, as I'd seen how carefully they handled our things in and out of the truck. Green's Moving moved a neighbour of mine some years ago. She was so disorganised...she was literally packing as the guys were moving. They were polite and professional the entire time! I asked for a card and have kept it with me. After a very stressful couple of months (moving twice in as many months), speaking with Matt made all the difference to me. He was courteous, professional and encouraging. Also very detail oriented, which is a biggie for me. The 3-man crew showed up on time. It was such a great experience! The guys were funny...hilarious in fact. They were professional, friendly and very careful with my furniture. The entire move took 4.5 hours which is amazing considering it was raining most of the day. They even took their shoes off when coming in to our townhouse, as we have new flooring throughout. This is the WORST WORST WORST company I have ever made business with. I used their services to move from Montreal to Toronto, They came 4 hours late to pick up my furniture, delivered 24hours late. I called 16 times to get an answer on where my furniture was and when it was going to be delivered, and all i got were answering machines with full inboxes or operators telling me that they would call me back. The day of the delivery 1 box is still missing after 2 months, they broke my bike to the point of no repair. Again I called infinite times without an answer. Now, 2 months after my furniture was delivered, they are charging me $238 for storage (I never used storage) of the same furniture they already delivered in August, and again infinite calls, no answer and their accounting department referred me to the dispatch department for refund, and the dispatch department does not answer the phone. I am taking legal action against them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY read more

One word: WOW! I live in Calgary and was concerned about my parents moving and not being able to be there to help. I found Greens online, and from the very first contact my mom had with Matt, I was feeling better about things. I spoke with her several times throughout the day, and her and my dad had nothing but amazing, glowing words to say. They said it is so rare to meet people who are as genuine, polite, and just pleasant to be around. By the end of an eleven hour, emotional move, my mom was in tears, and part of it was her gratitude towards Matt and his crew. My parents are a bit older, and just could not have made it through the day if Matt and his guys weren't as fantastic as they were. I'll always be grateful for Matt and his guys for being there to look after my parents on what could have been a disastrous day. Greens Moving was recommended to me by a colleague at work and I'm glad she did, I was a little worried when I saw the van pull up ("The Van from the Hood" as my husband called it) but Frankie and his colleague (I forget his name unfortunately) were so helpful, friendly and efficient. They really were great guys and they made the whole moving experience far less painful then it could have been. I'm sorry they had to suffer such verbal abuse from idiot random drivers in the alleyway (even though they weren't really blocking it) but I guess that comes with the job, they really took it in their stride and I'm not sure if I would have been quite so reasonable and calm as Frankie was! As a lady moving solo, the idea of two strange men coming into my home and driving off with all of my worldly possessions was daunting to say the least. I'm SO glad I chose Green's moving - as soon as they pulled up in that amazing green truck and jumped out to say hello I had this huge wave of relief rush over me. Frank and Brett were my movers and I couldn't have asked for a better crew. These gents were friendly, professional and lightning fast. Took excellent care moving my heavy wood furniture and vintage pieces. The rates were very reasonable and these guys seem to genuinely enjoy working for this company. I have nothing but POSITIVE feedback for this company. Last weekend during the windstorm I had 2 moving companies bail on me. Greens Moving was able to accommodate my large move for the next time I was available. I moved from a 4 bedroom - 4 level house to a 3 bedroom - 3 level townhouse. LOTS AND LOTS of stairs with narrow hallways. Justin and Chilo did not complain one bit. Moved my stuff with a positive attitude and extreme care. All necesary furniture was either blanketed or plastic wrapped. They are super friendly and actually care about your belongings!! Moving in general gives me anxiety, with these guys I was calm, relaxed and even had a few laughs. I saw the light at the end of the moving hell tunnel. A++ read more

I booked based on the positive Yelp reviews, and I have to tell you that these are the most impressive movers that I have experienced. I have moved many times, and there are always issues with moves, but these guys were amazing: 1) careful, 2) friendly, 3) punctual, 4) conscientious, 5) efficient. No corner wall dings, no furniture marks--everything went without a hitch. The most impressive things to me is how positive these guys were. I've had movers in the past that did nothing but complain about how much stuff we had, how long it was taking, how heavy our furniture was, etc. Not a negative word from these guys--the opposite in fact.
