For the price, this is undoubtedly 5 stars. It was quiet and the room was dark with the lights off. Bathroom and shower were very nice. Staff was friendly. Fitness room was nicer than most at this price point. Breakfast was limited in selection, but everything was great. My wife loved the coffee machine. The bed wasn't incredible, but I've slept on far worse and the pillows were small. The room was spotless. I would recommend this and definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. read more

Have written good reviews in the past years about the Greenstay in Springfield on Battlefield near 65, but cannot recommend Greenstay on Battlefield any longer -- This is an update to let you know THIS PLACE IS TURNED INTO A DUMP !! Checked in for 5 nights. As soon as I got the room found how run down the Greenstay had gotten since this time last year .... The Carpet was torn and spotted; there is a lot of dirt and lint build up around all baseboards; water has leaked behind the paint on wall causing it to bubble up; The bathroom is filthy; the curtains are stained,--- bathroom lighting was several colors of white (all different) and the light fixture in the bathroom was actually falling out of the ceiling. The place has gone to the pot. (will post pictures). The absolute WORSE thing is the BED -- It was SO BAD -- besides being lumpy, your butt sinks into a deep hole -- and, the holes are on both sides of bed. Advised front desk clerk and manager the first thing the next morning telling them that I was unable to sleep because of terrible bed -- was told by clerk.... they knew that some of the beds were sagging, also told me they couldn't move me to another room because they were booked full (they told me the same thing when I checked in the day before --- strange, cause there were only a dozen or so cars in the lot at 10 PM the first night i was there). Clerk and manager were "nonchalant" and brushed all the complaints off by simply saying they were being bought out ( believe it was Western) and was told by clerk that "they" might remodel some. The management Absolutely DID NOT CARE what so ever, -- no, " I'm so sorry", --- no, "what can we do to make this right", -- nothing but a crappy attitude. Told them to refund rest of my stay which they did. I moved to the Choice Hotel "Comfort" at the end of Glenstone and 65. About 5 minutes down the road. It was the same price and the Comfort had bright clean room, good lighting, clean carpet, spotless bathroom, thick towels, and best of all, a GREAT BED --- all the things that the GREENSTAY DIDNT HAVE. Not bad for a 2 star hotel! The room was surprisingly large with more than enough space for a king size bed and room to spread out. My door dash dinner arrived within 15 minutes of ordering it. Super fast! Breakfast ended at 9 which was a bit too early for my liking, but they kept their coffee pots full which was very much appreciated. read more

I booked and prepaid over $115 through Expedia for a room at Greenstay on N Ingram Mill in Springfield for my birthday. Expedia clearly stated I could check in with no issues -- but when I arrived, the front desk told me I wasn't allowed to stay because I live within 60 miles. Let that sink in: I drove nearly 40 minutes, paid in advance, and showed up with a confirmed reservation, only to be turned away at the door for something that was never disclosed before booking. No warning, no refund on the spot, and zero compassion. This isn't hospitality -- it's discrimination against locals. If your policy is to deny service to nearby residents, then be upfront about it before taking people's money. Wasting someone's time, gas, and money on their birthday is beyond unprofessional -- it's downright cruel. Save yourself the stress. There are plenty of hotels in Springfield that actually honor paid reservations and treat guests with basic respect. read more

We tried to stay at the Greenstay in Joplin, but the place was filthy. There were dead bugs in the hallway and when we got to our room the toilet hadn't been flushed and there were dead bugs in the sink that looked like they'd been there since Nixon was president. Do not believe the description of this hotel, it is lies. Be sure to get insurance to be able to cancel, believe me if your in the rooms we were in, You will want to. We booked the 2 beds jetted tub and handicapped room, I got a room that is on the outside making it a motel not a hotel. No jetted tub . It sounds like they only have 1 and it's been being renovated for ever. No special needs room it made it very hard to drive my electric wheelchair anywhere. AND so many other things. I have stayed in a LOT of places while traveling and this is the second to worst. I don't usually write reviews unless I really like the place and also hate when people complain for nothing. But I don't understand how people can give this place anything but a two or lower. My experience started out with check in. The person at the desk was quite disinterested at best at welcoming me there. He handed me a paper to sign and gave me the key. I proceeded to my room for just a quick overnight stay. I open the door to the room and it smelled VERY musty and moldy, but I needed to catch a quick dinner so I left. I asked the guy at the desk for a place to eat and he said he couldn't think of one. I stopped at Walmart and bought a new pillow because the ones on the bed smelled like someone's greasy head. When I got back I opened the door again and just couldn't take it. I headed back down and asked if I could change my room. The guy said, "Well I don't have another like that!" Finally after a bit of back and forth he said well I have one on the second floor. So I said I don't care where it is. He gave me the key and proceeded to tell me the elevator was broke! Luckily it was just a quick overnight stay and all I brought in was a backpack. Another couple checked in right behind me and I felt bad because they had all their luggage. They were struggling as he just had surgery so I was helping them. They were not happy either. I pushed open the door to this room and at least it didn't smell. But the longer I stayed the air conditioning started make squealing noises I was so tired that I just put up with it. One of the grossest parts of the room though was the carpet it was completely stained, so I kept my shoes on until I got in bed. I didn't end up showering because I figured if the rest of the room didn't look clean I didn't want to use it. I actually ended up leaving at 5:00am to get out as quick as I could. I went to open my hotel door and it was stuck. It didn't fit well in the jam and I tried to pull it a couple of times. I almost had to call the front desk to get out. Luckily it finally opened, but if there would have been an emergency it would have been dangerous! I went to the front desk to tell the person I was leaving and ask for a receipt. She was new and had to check on how to do that. Finally she figured it out and handed it to me without a word asking how my stay was. The final tipping point was when I went to exit through the back entrance there was a giant bug right inside of the door. At first I thought it was a roach, but I think it was a beetle. I wasn't going to write this review but I think people depend on and deserve truthful ones when booking a hotel stay. Especially when you walk in the lobby and see a plaque that claims to be a 8.2 and certificate of excellence. And a huge sign outside that says TOP RATED! Having said all this it was only $100. So I guess you really can't expect too much, but I believe way better than this! read more

Perfectly comfortable hotel for an overnight stay. Clean, cozy and located just off the highway about four miles from the historic commercial district. The front desk rang not long after we checked in to make sure our room was fine - a nice touch. To go bags are available in the morning, since hot breakfasts are out due to COVID. Ours came with water, mini muffins, a granola bar and a clementine and we made good use of everything on the road. Only odd thing was I could hear soft music playing all night. Our room looked out over a pool that's closed for the season and I wondered if the music came from there. read more

We have stayed her many times. The staff is friendly. Close location to daughter's university. This last time, though, the beds were unsleepable, old and squeaked plus there is some new cleaner they are using which constantly made my nose run. For 3 adults, we obtained a room with 2 full sized beds for $92 (1 night - thru trivago.com so we had to pay online fees). The decor of this hotel is pretty ugly. The artwork, carpet, furniture, walls are all mismatched. There's some kind of animal/jungle theme going on, but it's not done well. The couches in the lobby are orange colored?? My mom asked why there was a bed right next to the front desk - the "bed" being this atrocious dirt colored day bed. The shampoo & shower gel are put in refillable tubes attached to the shower wall. There's no conditioner. No lotion. The sink is inside the bathroom, but it would make more sense and would be more convenient if it was outside it. There's barely any space to stand in front of the sink with the toilet immediately to your left. On tv, only the basic channels, nothing fancy. A lot of static channels in between the ones that work. Wi-fi is bearable. Complimentary hot breakfast consisted of biscuits and gravy, sausage links, sad looking omelette. There was a coffee machine with many buttons for mocha and latte, but really only shoots out regular coffee. There were fruit, a waffle machine, awfully sweet pastries, and cereal. Did I mention the place is falling apart? The ceiling in the bathroom had a gap between where it should be, and where it was. Tiles are missing in front of the elevator as well. The service is friendly. Thus, I shall grant this place two stars instead of the one star I am itching to give. read more

This USED TO be our go to hotel when traveling back and forth between Illinois and Arizona. Not anymore. Why? It's impossible to get a decent night's sleep. The AC system works so that you either get AC OR a constant fan. If you don't use the AC in favor of the fan, the room gets unbearably warm. So what keeps you awake is the air kicking on every 5 - 10 minutes. It sounds like a semi barreling thru the room. Further, housekeeping isn't as sharp as it used to be. On the trip east, there was no soap in the room. A phone call to the front desk resolved the problem but I shouldn't have to call. On the return trip, there were packets of decaf coffee but no regular. A small thing, but still.... Then we noticed the door to the room next to ours was open for several hours. I called the front desk who verified that the room was vacant and said housekeeping must've left it open. Greenstay gets good grades for cleanliness and friendly staff. Unfortunately that's not enough. Also (and this isn't just Greenstay), why is there only one easy chair in the room.? Generally two people travel together. One gets to be comfortable and in the case of our room here, the other got to sit in a desk chair whose best days were many years past. read more

Online price yhrough travelocity was cheaper than when we called but they honored the online price. Hotel was clean and we'll maintained. Had a huge room, much bigger than room we had in Branson. If I could give this place a -0-, I would. When we checked in, sink wouldn't drain and toilet didn't flush properly- both fixed within 24 hours. Everything was very outdated. Paint BADLY chipped off furniture, mirrors and bathroom vanity. Room was disgustingly humid. Carpet was --so gross. Coudln't take shoes off in the room other than to step into the shower!! Could smell mildew when you walk in the room. So bad that my thin facecloth that was left hanging to dry took 3 days to dry!! We asked for the AC to be fixed and the humidity to be removed. The reply was that maintenance wouldn't be available until "next week.". NO offer to change rooms. When we returned to our room that night at 10:30 pm, exhausted, we found that our room hadn't been serviced. We usually reuse towels, but we couldn't there because it was too damp for towels to dry. Front desk gave us new towels. They offered to change our room at 11 pm, but it was too late to pack up everything and move. Garbage pail still had the rotten veggies that we had discarded that morning, assuming that the pail would be emptied shortly. Complained to the manager (Holly), expecting some sort of credit or something to address our MISERABLE stay. She said that she walked on the carpet in socks and her socks didn't get wet!!!! All you had to do is touch the carpet to feel the dampness. It was SO gross. At any rate she told us that only Expedia could adjust the rate. So, I called Expedia. They told me that only Holly could approve a rate adjustment and that she denied that there was a problem. Lies and denial!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! read more

The breakfast area was a little small to enjoy breakfast downstairs, but we got our fill and brought it back to our room. HOTEL HELL This place has 2 stars on yelp for a reason. I would give it 0 stars if I could. From the moment we walked it the front deck staff was rude and didn't want to help us because she was almost off. Their system was messing up and wont let me add my husband to our reservation. The very rude lady at the front desk simple said "well its not refundable i would just call booking, they can help". After we called to have my husband added we waited for a hour and 15mins at that point we were very upset and tried of waiting for their systems to update. We went out after finally getting into our room. And when we came back, we were yelled at the the front desk about our dogs barking while we were gone and they supposedly called us several times(EVEN THO WR DIDMT GET ONE CALL) and told us we couldn't leave her here alone. I told her I was shocked our dog never barks but ok we were only staying one night. Later that night after we were fast asleep at 1 am the front desk calls our room and my husband picked up and they started very rudly telling us that our dog was barking again and keeping the other guest awake. My husband said NO she is fast asleep next to us, and we have been in the room for the last 6 hours and she hasnt made a single sound. The very rude front desk person sad oh, and hung up without even saying sorry for awaking up BOTH our kids at 1 am!!!! ON TOP OF THE RUDE EMPLOYEES IT WAS DIRTY. The photos are of both ice machines coved in something gross and there were stain on our sheets to our bed. If the customer service wasnt so shitty we could have dealt with the rooms and hotel not being clean. If you want the worse the rudest service you had ever had i would stay here. read more

Near a busy intersection and not very sound proof. Of course I'm a light sleeper and my room was next to the road. The staff were very friendly. They took the money for the room but refused him the room because he did not have a credit card. When u tried to get my money back they lied and said he never showed. I really loved this hotel! My work set me up with a room here when the Ramada oasis was full. I'm glad they did! Green stay was a stylish, clean and relaxing hotel. The location was great...close enough to walk to mcdonalds or hardees. Though I never had time to try it, there was free breakfast from 6am - 9am. They had a nice pool and of course free wifi. This hotel has surely gone downhill. It is pretty clean but we found popcorn and peanuts on the floor by the bed. Some of the lights in the bathroom were burned out. There was no place that had adequate lighting. The electrical is scary with outlets severely overloaded. Some of the items at breakfast were cold and there was no fruit of any kind or cereal. I had multiple rooms for over a week , one of which smelled of mildew ...had an issue with one of my employees and lady who cleans breakfast area ... She made a false statement that was said and had a tantrum ... Desk lady and her security guard lawn boy came to my room all hard and asked him to leave . Costing me hundreds in another hotel for him to go. She knows and I know he didn't call her the C word ... Have some thick skin you work at a hotel. PS didn't like that hotel desk guy had my credit card number written on a posted note this is poor business practice . Overall I wasn't expecting much out of this location, but overall it was A-OK. The property is a little dated on the inside and the wireless internet can be a little spotty in the guest rooms. The breakfast area has good wifi coverage and the breakfast area itself is nice and clean. This property used to be a Hampton Inn and you can tell they made some changes with the switch, the coffee is generic, there is a constant smell of pine in the lobby, and the workout room doubles as a meeting area and laundry facility. The price is right and I will be back, I wish they would invest in better bedding and update the look of the hotel some. I called 11/14/22....after staying 1 night on the 11/12/22. First of all, I found out that my charge was $10.00 more than my girlfriend's for the exact same room even with my AAA discount. I complained and they fixed the charge when I checked out. However, my bank statement didn't include the new charge after checking it when I got home. I called and complained and said I would scan the statement with the new charge and email it to them. After going back and for the with the receptionist, she finally agreed to change it for me. Of course, no confirmation in my email and I'm sure it won't be changed. She was very rude on the phone and unprofessional. Also, the bed was absolutely horrible...too hard. Breakfast was just gross....eggs were extremely watery, and the sausage didn't look edible....McDonalds would have been better. One last thing...I have a bite on my back...bed bug? Spider?
