I had a very pleasant experience at GreenTree Pasadena. We were in town for a game at the Rose Bowl and this hotel was perfect - decent price that included breakfast and within walking distance to many bars/restaurants. A friendly greeting was exchanged when we entered and we were quickly and easily checked in. Parking was super convenient, actually right outside our room since it was on the ground level. The room itself was more spacious than I thought and had a nice desk, suitcase stand and wardrobe and a mini fridge. Everything was clean and in working order and I was able to get a good nights rest. read more

Made reservations and paid on Expedia yesterday for last night. My wife checked us in and they ask for cash deposit because their credit card reader wasn't working. We don't carry cash so they ended up just letting us have the room without putting down a deposit. We go to our room on the fourth floor and get in and situated and my wife says. "By the way, they said that the power will be shut off between 10pm-8am." I was like, what?!?!? So I get ready to call downstairs and say why did they let us have the room knowing we wouldn't have any power but then the power shut off and we were stuck. The elevators didn't work, the lights didn't work, literally stuck in our room until morning. Couldn't charge our phones, couldn't set our clock to wake us up, nada! I tried falling asleep but there are all sorts of weird sounds coming from the hallway and I don't feel right/safe. So I sleep on and off maybe an hour. The bed is comfortable and thank God the patio window opens up so we had cool air from outside. I wake up at 6 for breakfast but realized that they probably didn't make breakfast without power. Then at 8am the power comes back on. I figure they probably are cooking now and will extend breakfast by two hours, but no such luck. We check out at 10:30 and there is no breakfast in sight. So I go to check out and I ask why were we put on the 4th floor if they knew the power was going out. How could they even rent out any rooms at all knowing this? Her answer was, "Edison shut down the whole neighborhood, sorry." I again said, but you knew and you still allowed us to check in and go up to the 4th floor. I told her I had knee replacement and today I had to walk down four flights of stairs. She just kept saying sorry and that it was Edison's decision to power down and that they only get a couple of days of advance notice (keep in mind I reserved yesterday so if they had a couple of days notice, they should have told us at the time of making the reservation). I said to her that I was unhappy with this experience as I come down every weekend and have been wanting to check them out. Now, due to this experience, I will never come back. She should have offered something. A comp night, 1/2 the money back, anything at all, but nothing but "sorry." So I tell her I will not be back here and she said "that's fine." Customer service sucked! If you are planning on staying here I highly recommend you call them directly and ask if the lights will be on, if not, go to motel six, at least they leave the light on. read more

Went here on my wedding night for a cheap, easy one night alone. My husband accidentally booked it for the wrong weekend (not the reason I'm writing this review but adds to it), and the front desk was just like, "you can book another room, we have one left." So we did, but before we paid we asked if there was a way to have a delayed checkout by two hours. He said that would be fine, and after he confirmed that, we paid. The room's faucet didn't run, and after calling the front desk, I was disappointed as he just said "this was the last available room, I would move you if I could but I can't." I would've much rather been advised of these conditions as it was obviously the only room left unbooked for that reason, and he had me under the impression that I had booked a fully functioning room at the time of payment. Next morning, we leave and come back, and shortly after, we get a call from the front desk urging us to leave the room as it was our check out time, an hour before we were told previously told that we would have to check out. Bro lied to my face, deceived me, and then the guy at the front desk in the morning glorified him as a trusted employee. Totally lame. read more

Very Unprofessional! We drove over 5 hours to stay at GreenTree Pasadena Inn, and we were shocked by how poorly we were treated. The General Manager was rude and unhelpful, showing no sympathy at all, even though we were tired guests who had traveled a long way. We booked through a third-party site, had a valid confirmation number, and even called ahead to confirm. But when we arrived, it felt like they didn't want to accommodate us just because we booked at a lower rate. It was clear they don't treat third-party guests the same, which is completely unfair. If you work in hospitality, you should treat every guest with kindness and respect--especially those coming from far away. That did not happen here. The way we were dismissed and disrespected was unacceptable. We were so frustrated, we ended up leaving and going to another hotel. Thankfully, we found a place that actually knows how to treat guests right. I do NOT recommend this hotel at all. When my wife and I were checking out of this motel, I discovered that my $350 Bose headphones were not in my luggage. So within about 20 minutes, we went back to retrieve them but the room had already been cleaned. We went to the front desk to see if housekeeping turned the headphones in to no avail. Thinking they might have been accidentally thrown out, they went to check the trash and found the case with my business card prominently placed to establish ownership if they were ever found. But no headphones! Obviously, they were stolen by someone with access to the room almost immediately after we left. So we went to the manager and rather than call the Pasadena Police to intervene, he managed to come up with an acceptable remedy. Comping us 2 nights on a future stay. When we called the next year to claim one of the nights, we were told that GreenTree headquarters was "unable" to honor the commitment they made to us and that it was "beyond their control!" Neither of which was true since they were certainly able..... but just were unwilling. Instead, they added insult to injury and asked us to join their frequent stay point system and offered us the paltry equivalent of about 50 bucks worth of credit toward renting a room with a company we already knew lacked the integrity and decency of honoring their commitments to their guests. So why would we ever stay at any of their locations when so many of their competitors actually stand behind their commitments. Upon looking at Yelp, we were NOT surprised to see that this location generated far more 1-star reviews than any other kind given our unfortunate experience with them. Clearly, they're unconcerned that their reviews are so derogatory as it would have been pretty low-hanging fruit for them to have avoided this negative review even if they honored just ONE of the nights they owed us. Instead, they lost our future business for good over one night. Bottom line: unless you like 1 star service and zero for integrity, look elsewhere for your lodging than GreenTree. One of the worst experiences at a hotel. Greentree front desk staff charged me a $25.00 room fee after I already paid the room fee to Priceline. They refused to give me the room key unless I paid this again. (Priceline to date refuses to give me a refund for the double charge after multiple calls and texts). The first room they showed me smelled awful, the second room smelled but not as bad. When I took a shower, I realized the smell was mold in the bathroom. The carpeted halls had stains, the screens were ripped, one had a spider web. My room had dead bugs on the inside of the screen so I could not open my window. The floor was filthy and made the bottom of my socks black. The refrigerator was so loud, I kept waking up in the night when the electricity kicked on and off. There was only decaf coffee in my room, and at breakfast they offered hot water but no tea. The location is great but the hotel is a dump. read more

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel and had a generally positive experience, though there were a few areas that could be improved. Pros: Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast was definitely a highlight; good variety, tasty and convenient. Renovated Rooms: The guest rooms themselves were clean, updated, and comfortable. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained. Friendly Staff: The staff were helpful and pleasant throughout the stay, making check-in and requests smooth and easy. Amenities in Room: The fridge and air conditioning both worked perfectly, which isn't always a given and was much appreciated. Location: The hotel is in a great spot, within walking distance to several popular dining spots and hangout areas, which made exploring the area easy and enjoyable. Cons: Cleanliness of Linens: Unfortunately, the towels and sheets had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke, which was disappointing especially that this was a no smoking room. Plumbing Issues: Both the sink and bathtub clogged very easily during my stay, which made showering and brushing our teeth very uncomfortable and less convenient. Incidentals Charge: Be aware that the hotel charges (not just authorizes) a $100 fee for incidentals at check-in. This is refunded 3-5 days after your stay, but it's something to plan for. Housekeeping Schedule: Daily housekeeping is not standard here; they clean every three days or upon request, which may not suit everyone's preferences especially when you are spending a few days here. Common Area Carpet: While the rooms are nicely renovated, the stairwell carpet, which is heavily used to access the breakfast area is old, worn and stained. It detracts from the overall appearance and cleanliness of the hotel. Overall: A solid stay with some great conveniences like location, breakfast and updated rooms. You hear birds in the morning flying by - great nature sounds. However, attention to some of the details especially linens, plumbing and common area cleanliness would go a long way in improving the guest experience. read more

Green Tree Inn & Suites Pasadena cancelled my reservation with only 3 days before I was set to stay there and attend our professional conference. Their excuse made little sense - they said they chose me to kick out because my reservation was recent, when I had reserved a month prior, and colleagues staying there who made reservations later than me did not have their reservations cancelled. They made no attempt to remedy the situation. The price is affordable so I don't know that I had high expectations, but apparently a reservation doesn't mean anything, so I would recommend avoiding them. Don't end up stranded! read more

First, I am a rewards member with this hotel group. The last two experiences with this Pasadena motel have been awful. This past weekend I and many other customers who prepaid were turned away at check-in due to "plumbing issues". These seem to be the same plumbing issues that were disrupting operations in May 2025. Do not book directly through their website nor a third party site. At this point, their customer service line is down and I have not received a refund. Price for me was $99 from Travelocity but you could get it cheaper by booking direct through the hotel website (figured that out afterward) Pros: The Staff is excellent at the front desk for check in and check...they do a great job Cons: (no particular order) 1. No soap in room (had to call down for that) and shower wash cloth hanger not in shower (Staff brought it up when I called-which was great) 2. Shower head does not swivel and water pressure in shower is unable to be lowered 3. TV- blue vertical line running down TV indicating it's broken since it's older 4. Breakfast....THE worst I've ever had - frozen burrito from pack of 20 from store and an apple which was bigger than the burrito even. P.S. burrito dries out in the microwave when heated up 5. Noise - you'll have plenty of street noise/lot noise and walkway noise permeating your zzzz attempts 6. I needed a place quick to be in Pasadena near family while my father in law was having brain surgery. This place was $150 on a discount. I walked in and it was so humid it felt like it was the rain forest. No blankets on the bed only a sheet. Not one trash can in the whole place not even the bathroom. We arrived very late as we were with family before so we said oh well let's go to bed. I got into bed and there was sand in the bed. So I decided to shower to just relax. The bathroom door would not shut because of the dry rot around the door frame. The shower was barely like warm and when I got out the bathroom was flooded with water. I even had the shower curtain in the tub to avoid this. There are burn marks on the desk and the walls are crumbling. This is for sure nowhere near the amount of money I paid. It's not even worth $60 a night. Totally fail for this place. read more

We checked in and were greeted with a not so friendly front desk man. The room was a good size but dust everywhere and a weird smell in the bathroom. There was an off-putting brown stain on the shower "curtain" which seemed like a regular very thin curtain with no waterproofing qualities. So naturally water got all over the floor during a shower. The walls are extremely thin so if you expect to sleep in past 6-7am good luck. You'll hear everyone stomping down stairs and garbage trucks slamming their trucks at 6am! However there were a few redeeming qualities: that the bed was pretty comfy and the area is central to the convention center. That being said I probably wouldn't stay here again! read more

We used to stay in this hotel for years. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone downhill in the recent years and we will not be back after our visit last week. Let's start with the positive. The location is great; walking distance to many great restaurants and bars, and public transportation. Driving distance to Highland Park, San Gabriel Valley etc. And that is pretty much where the positives end. The weekend we paid for was expensive considering what we got: a television that didn't work, an awkwardly placed closet in our room that we bumped into constantly and a minimal amount of towels. We found a cockroach in our bathroom. Worst of all, we could not get any sleep both nights due to the obnoxiously loud guests in several rooms close by congregating in the parking lot. We called the front office to complain which took a few tries but nothing changed. The individuals in the parking lot a few feet from our room continued with their raucous laughter until the wee hours of the morning BOTH NIGHTS, and when we complained at checkout, the office people sort of shrugged. Stay here only if you want an overpriced room with hardly any amenities, roaches in your bathroom and LOUD sketchy people roaming the parking lot at night. Disappointing. read more

If I can give this place no starts I would. Beware please do not take kids here.!! Thai is place is awful . My daughter and I checked in late in the evening for an event the next morning at the Rose Bowl. We parked underground which is as scary as a horror movie. The elevator below smelled like marijuana. Once we made it up to check in I did advise the receptionist and he didn't care. Once we got the room it smelled like if someone was covering up a crime scene like in the movies, bleach smell all over. It was too late to go anywhere else so we walked to Whole Foods to perhaps buy a candle or anything that would make the room better for the night. There were burnt stains and the bathroom door didn't close. The refrigerator wasn't working well it was in the closet. The shades were dirty and filthy when I wanted to bring them down. The beds were so miserable to sleep in. There were several loud noises at night plus in the morning too!The next morning I called up to the front desk and explained my concerns and the lady just told me that they shouldn't have checked me in to that room at all since it was under construction. How horrible is that! She talked to her manager and wanted to give me another room. So my daughter and I went to go see the other room on the 3rd floor, there was a man half dressed coming out from next door and he was touching his private parts and we quickly ran into the room which wasn't any better. My daughter's eyes were watery of the heavy bleach smell. We quickly ran to our car and I went right to the front desk and told them what happened and left. I later called and ask for refund and they refused! I will escalate this matter. The pictures are all fake! This place is horrible. What a terrible experience for my daughter and I. $126 a night when you join their giveback member rewards, as compared to 150 a night, the member rewards is 10 dollars to join. It ended up being $301 for 2 nights with all the fees tho so idk if I even got a deal smh. Anyways I was researching and a motel 6 status would've been $92 dollars a night and like a Hilton status would've been $192 a night, so if you want to be in the middle and save some bucks and not be too afraid to walk at night then I would go here. It's pretty safe around the area and the motel isn't located in a creepy area. CONS All I kept hearing was how great this breakfast was, yelp hyped it up way too much. Really do not expect much. They have waffles, not even regular eggs, the eggs are already mixed with what looked like meat, so I'm vegetarian so I couldn't even get the eggs, and then their was sausage. It was nothing that great or really worth raving all over yelp about. But it was buffet style, it just wasn't my kind of menu. Bed was meh, idk if it's bc I read some stuff online about bed bugs and it already got me paranoid but I was hella itchy all night. The sheets looked clean enough tho so it could just be me. No comforter, bring your own throw blanket, I wish I brought my own. Their "blanket" was some weird texturized sham thing, not thick at all, and just not a comfortable material. AC/ heater are those old and loud ones, sometimes it's so loud that you can't hear the Tv when it's on; but it is efficient and when you want the room hot or cold it does do its job. Floors/walls are super thin. I can hear a stupid guy on the second floor in what sounded like riverdancing at 1230am. Wtf, some people are just so rude. I sleep with the tv on and I always make sure to make it low so the next room won't somehow hear it. Now for the PROS. And there are some pros! -I really liked the floors, they aren't carpet but they do look like modern hard wood and I would rather walk in socks anyways than barefoot at a motel/hotel. I know at least my socks or shoes are clean. -Parking was spacious, a lot outdoors and they even have some parking under ground so that was never a problem when we would leave to go to places. Also parking is included with your stay. -There is a pretty good size vanity mirror with a sink separate outside of the shower. People can shower while u get ready or they can brush their teeth etc. -The TV is mounted to the wall, it's a flat screen and has a lot of channels. Also they have fast, reliable Wi-Fi. -One huge PRO was the way I was treated at check in, I had to have a procedure done and I couldn't go up and down stairs. I requested to have a bottom floor ready, and to let them know that I was checking in late around 10pm (i was scared everything would be booked) I checked in at 10pm to find out I already had a first floor room blocked out for me as requested. That was much appreciated and that is why I gave more stars. Customer service is A+. Customer service, price, location and for being a motel is what got 3.5-4 stars. read more

These last-minute hotel bookings are starting to kill me. We were in town for the weekend, to attend the SoCal Retro Gaming Convention at the Pasadena Convention Center, and were looking for cheap accommodations close by. We were going to go with our usual loyalty hotel, but once we factored in hotel cost, distance, and parking, we realized it didn't make fiscal sense. The GreenTree is a quick few block walk to the Convention Center and has the added bonus of free parking and WiFi. Those things alone checked most of our boxes, so I bit the bullet and booked. We arrived at around 8:40 pm on a Friday night. The lobby was open but completely empty when we walked in. I knew there was someone working because I'd seen an individual behind the desk when we drove past, but there wasn't another soul inside when we got there. We stood alone, looking for a bell or a door to knock on for so long that I was looking up the front desk number to call them, just to bring attention to the fact that they had customers waiting in the lobby. I was about to hit "call" when the front desk guy finally walked back in. There was no greeting, no apology for making us wait. He was terse and completely unhelpful, and it seemed like the check-in process took way longer than it should have. The room itself was nice enough - it had a king-sized bed, desk, fridge, and chest for clothing in the front, with the bathroom around the corner in the back. The black-out shade on the window worked well, but the windows aren't insulated enough to block either the cold air or the noise from outside (the city wakes up early, you know.) The bed was comfortable, and we both got decent sleep our two nights there. The shower was horrible - there was absolutely no water pressure, and the water never got hot; hell, it barely even got warm. The best things about this hotel are the location (close to the convention center and Old Town Pasadena); free parking; and free WiFi. The cost of the room wasn't crazy, but seemed overpriced for what we got. But, I guess they have to pay for their recent remodel somehow. read more

We booked the room for a few days, the reviews seemed ok, the pictures were of high expectations but unfortunately our experience was far from it. When we arrived the area did seem a bit sketchy but made sure to park close to the room. When he got in the room had an odd smell, very uncomfortable. We opened the windows and air conditioner to air it out, we also turned on all the lights and despite it the room was still very dim. Check the sink, wasn't cleaned throughly and the shower/toilet room was very dark, ceiling was moldy and falling apart and I guess that was where the smell was coming from. We left for dinner and thought maybe when we came back it would have aired it out. Unfortunately we came back to the same uncomfortable smell and noticed that we even started coughing because of the enviroment. We didn't even bother asking for another room and told them we would be checking out. The front desk originally offered us a refund but it wasn't processed. Since it was non-refundable the company didn't allow it but did nothing to remedy the situation. They said they were renovating but I read a lot of other reviews recalling our same experience. read more

This is a great motel - clean and comfortable at a much lower price compared to other local hotels. I stayed here when attending a nearby conference when my usual hotel options were booked full. I consider this a motel since the room doors open up to the outside parking lot rather than an interior hallway. When I first arrived I was worried as the exterior didn't look particularly promising. But the interior was surprisingly nice. My room was exceptionally clean with new furnishings. The bed was comfortable and there were basic amenities (microwave, refrigerator, cable tv). Soaps, shampoo and lotion are provided in refillable containers. The floor was a faux wood rather than carpeting which gave the room a cleaner feel. The room had an AC unit which was a bit noisy but kept the temperature comfortable on a very hot day. Sleep-wise it was great - no noise could be heard from other rooms or the street. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. A complimentary continental breakfast is offered with such things as muffins, bagels, pastries, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, coffee and juice. Unlike the nearby Hilton, parking is easy and stress-free. Across the street from this place is a Whole Foods and a block away is a Houston's. The convention center as well as a multitude of restaurants are within a 2-4 block walk. I'd recommend this place to stay. You'll save a few bucks and still be quite comfortable. read more

The Room smelled like cat urine the second I walked in, I immediately went back to reception and got my money back with no problem

The dirtiest hotel I've ever been. The toilets were dirty, the rooms, smell like dust, and urine. We requested a room change and the guy to seemed to be the owner based on his huge gold chains, did exchanged, he went up to see the original room and we bumped into him he said it's not urine it's the chemicals they use to clean. Sorry but I worked with homeless population for 15 years I know the smell of urine. As we were walking away he said without thinking we would hear him, you have to be Fn kidding me!!! We just walked away, because not only did the hotel was bad but his customer service was terrible. My advice don't stay here specially if you have kids, 3 of my coworkers and I got sick after we left. read more

The room smelled badly of mildew, the screen on the window was halfway torn out, there was a blood stain on one of the sheets, you can hear everything, and the room was just generally dirty. If I could post this review with zero stars I would. I don't even know where to start...first thing I noticed was 2 small (red) stains on the bed near the pillow. This followed by my boyfriend and I looking for the remote for 5+ minutes only to call down to the front office to have them say "oh there was a remote but it stopped working and we don't have a replacement." Okay cool whatever. Then my boyfriend was sitting on the bed for a minute and before laying down he pulled the sheets back and I found a long black hair near the foot of the bed which he claimed was from his feet which ultimately came from me so he says....my hair is way lighter. This made me too uncomfortable to sleep in my pajamas (shorts and shirt). So I slept in leggings and shirt. He had no problem sleeping in his underwear. I didn't even use the pillow! Hopefully no bed bugs. Before falling asleep I noticed that there was an ice bag wrapped around the smoke detector...probably so someone could smoke in the non smoking room we were in. Glad housekeeping/management cares enough about fire safety Aside from that, the place is pretty worn down. Looks like there might have been a flood from upstairs a while ago (our room was on the first floor) because the walls were bubbling and so was the ceiling above it but it had dried and is now peeling away from the base. Floors were grimy, made my feet black, and probably is where the hair came from. I'm surprised the bathroom was "clean" I'm hoping. Parking on ground floor is $5, free parking is located underneath the parking lot. I'm glad the fridge worked as well as the microwave. The AC kept turning on to hold the temperature in the room because yet again the insulation is terrible. Can hear everything going on outside even if you were to whisper. Decided to skip "breakfast" (grab and go bags) because we saw in other reviews it was a joke and we didn't find it worth trying to get Especially since it was from 6:30-8:30 am. Probably better luck at the local Denny's or even a gas station near by. OVERALL, I was highly debating to leave this place and book somewhere else but it was already 11:30/12 at night and wasn't about to deal with getting the money back. Smelly room, watery soap, only sheets on the bed (no blanket), and guy at the front Desk could care less for the paying customer. For those with time keep reading. Here are some nice things about this place. Room is clean, there is free parking, the motel seems to be in a safe aria, it's close to some nice restaurants, and Whole Foods is a 2 minute walk down the street. Now for the bad. The room has a weird smell, not bad enough to call the front desk but enough to make it into this review. To be fair the smell went away after we turned the AC on. The AC is very loud, it sounds like a running car with a bad belt. The shampoo and body wash are runny like water (like they ran out of soap and filled them with water?). They only put a sheet and a thin blanket on the bed, if you need something heavier you have to call someone. The guy at the front desk was uninterested in me or the other people he interacted with. There is a pool but no hot tub. There is a elevator and it's pretty sketchy. The grounds are also super dirty, which is ok, but for $220 per night you might think they could have someone power wash the grounds. But honestly that's minor. I think 2.5 stars is fair because even though the room is clean, for a motel, I believe this was overpriced. I think you could stay in a hotel in a similar aria for the about same price. If you are in a pinch and need to stay here I'd say go for it. But if you have more then 2 seconds to think about it and plan I'd take my money somewhere where they have soap that isn't like water and a AC the won't wake you up. read more

Lock out of the room since 9:30pm- till 5:30am the next day. Don't book this hotel, it may be cheap, but the building is old and their customer service are not responsible, especially the general manager Camron Kahn. Greentree Pasadena hotel was the hotel that kept on giving... giving problems that is. We check in to our room at 3pm, and the room was already showing signs of issue. First the room smelled like it hasn't been aired out for months. Which can be true with Covid19, but hotels do have deodorizing machine to clear the air. Second, no hangers, additional towels (besides 2 towels), hair dryer and tv remote in the room. I don't want to sound greedy, but if we paid for these things, we should already have it. We finally got all the items, but the TV wasn't working. Apparently the cable box was out. After the receptionist and my husband unplugged and click a few things, we got the TV working. 9:30pm We return from dinner to notice we were lock out of the room. We went to the front desk to ask for replacement keys, thinking our key have been de-magnetized. We received new keys, try again to open our door, and still the door did not open. Went back to the front desk, which the receptionist came out trying to open the door. He then calls the manager Camron Kahn. He gave every excuse in the book to tell us why were lock out instead of how he was going to fix the situation. He called a lock smith to come out and get the door open. The lock smith won't arrive till 11pm. They place us in another room to wait. 11pm Lock smith arrives and states will take an hour to open the doors. We check back in a 12am, lock smith says 30 more mins, check back in at 12:30am, will be another hour. 1:30am lock smith leaves and we are still not in our room. No one at the hotel called us to inform us. My husband calls the front desk and ask what is happening. Apparently they need to call the lock company to come open the door. But they do not open till 8am. It is now 3:30am. We haven't slept, we're in evening attire, my husband needs his breathing machine to sleep at night. Our car keys are in the room, so we can't go anywhere or get anything to hold us over the next day. It's now 5:30am the general manager Camron Kahn finally arrives and pops the door open. We finally grab out things, slept at this trash hotel for a few hours and left. This has been a disaster. Ruined our entire mini vacation. The general manager called us again to apologize, but instead made light of the situation, like this was to big deal. If you can't manage a hotel, maybe you should find a different career. We did get our full refund. That's the only thing positive from this situation. Never again. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with any hotel ever! A needle Full drugs fell on me while drying my hands . Managment said he will not refund my stay even this j was there from about 4 am to 7:30 when I left because o get discussed by the cleanliness of the place! As a business owner and someone who really cares about health and people I think this is just not ok. 1 star , this place should be investigated. Thanks for the possible Disease. I really wanted to like this inn and make this my home base when visiting my kid in college, but it was disaster soon after checking in. We were given a room that was under construction. Upon opening the door, the beds were unmade and the toilet was off its foundation. We were switched to a different room, but it reeked of stale cigarette smoke. The walls and doors had scratches and markings. One of the mattresses was hanging 6" off its box spring, the bathroom sink had about 12+ live gnats in it and flying around. The sink was also slow to drain. If you brushed your teeth, the water level would back up a few inches high. There wasn't any body wash in the shower and breakfast was a huge disappointment. Professionalism of manager due to faulty equipment 0/5. Summary: The air conditioner did not work due to a faulty breaker in the thermostat and did nothing to fix it over 2 nights. Upon arrival on the first night, we noticed the air did not work correctly. You could adjust the temp, but the thermostat would turn off and then reset after a few minutes. I did this a couple times before I went to the front desk. I explained the situation to the employee at the front desk, he said he would call the manager to find out what to do. An hour later I had not heard anything. I went down again, he called the manager in front of me on his cell phone. Manager told him to go to the room to investigate. He came up and explained what was happening to the manager. He gave the phone to me so I could talk with the manager directly. He explained about the faulty breaker listed above. He said they were booked for the night and did not have any rooms. He offered to call around to other hotels to see if they had room since he would not be able to fix it that night. It was late, we were tired and decided we would just rough it that night. The manager said "I will make this right". I said thank you, and we slept uncomfortable that night. The next day we left early for Universal Studios. We took all of our stuff with us, so that they could either fix the AC or have another room ready for us. Turns out I am an idiot for assuming what "I will make this right" means. I called the hotel around dinner the next day to make sure the room was fixed or changed. The guy I talked to, the same employee from the night before, said it was not fixed and we were not giving another room. I was furious. I asked what did "I will make it right mean" and he informed me the manager was comping the room for that night. I said that was utterly ridiculous, expecting a customer to stay in the same room 2 nights in a row with a broken AC when they already complained about it the night before. Keep in mind this was a Wednesday and Thursday night stay. Meaning getting someone over to fix the AC should not have been a problem. I told him I would call in a few after deciding what to do. I checked around for another hotel and found one close by that had a room and booked it. I called back the front desk attendant and told him to cancel my 2nd night. I fully expected to still be charged and pay for the 2nd night. Well 1 month later and I still have not received a refund. I have also called and left messages twice to talk to the manager and have yet to receive a call back. Once about 3 weeks ago, and again multiple times last week. In the end I should be entitled to a full refund. The hotel advertises air conditioning as an amenity and it was not provided. This can be looked at as false advertising or bait and switch. While I know that was not the intention, I was advertised a service that was not provided nor provided compensation for the lack of said amenity Cleanliness: Overall 4/5 no major issues to note. Soaps in the bathroom were in the wrong place. The conditioner was by the sink instead of the shower and the hand soap was in the shower. They were in the containers that lock to the wall so you couldn't switch them. Room: Very roomy and spacious. One of the larger basic rooms I've seen at a hotel. Staff Friendliness: 1/5 The guy at the front counter had no customer service skills. He was more concerned with what was going on with his phone instead of the person waiting for his attention. I am sorry but unless someone is dying, or your significant other is pissed at you, phone goes down and the customer is attended too, anything else can wait. Experienced this at check in. Parking 3/5 There was ground level and basement parking. You had to pay 10.00 extra for ground level. Basement parking was tight if you have a large car, but no real issues. Breakfast 1/5 This was probably the worst breakfast option I've ever seen at a hotel. It was a bagged breakfast that consisted of a piece of fruit, and a gross microwave breakfast burrito. I think it had yogurt in the bag also, cant remember for sure. If this is the option, its better off not being offered at all. My husband and I needed a last minute one-night stay in Pasadena on august 20-21,2022. We found out that, apparently, there was some sort of celebration going on at the Rose Bowl so many of the hotels in the area were sold out. The Green Tree Inn had one room left. We booked through Expedia which had posted 3.9/5 for overall score and 4.0/5 for cleanliness score. Boy were we disappointed. When you get to the driveway if the inn it looks a little rundown. We paid $330.00 for a smelly, cheap looking, old room, door and some walls need painting. The room was hot when we arrived. The a/c read 80 degrees. No big deal, so we lowered it, only to then have a constant loud, rattling noise. Needless to say, I got no sleep. (My husband sleeps through anything.) It was either sleep in a sauna or have this a constant noise. Pictures in the internet are deceiving, so if you decide to stay here be ready to be disappointed. When we left asap the next morning, we were greeted with the smell of marijuana outside our door. I know it's legal, but I hadn't even had breakfast yet. Give me a break! Green Tree Pasadena Inn is a quaint motor inn (motel) located on Arroyo Parkway at the end of the 110 Freeway. With the trees out front, it was easy to miss the small entrance. FYI: Green Tree is in small print on the sign, Pasadena INN is in large print. We arrived around 6pm, and waited for a young man to greet us. He was wearing sweatshirt hoodie (uniform?), and we were pleasantly surprised that we could choose our room and floor. First thing I notice was the faux wood floor. Its cold on my feet, luckily it was not too cold. Large TV, refrigerator, microwave, single cup coffee maker (NO TEA BAGS!!!), iron, ironing board and blowdryer included. Big King bed with 5 big pillows (memory foam). No bedspread, comforter or blanket on bed, just sheets and some sort of padded sheet? Is this the new norm when it comes to bedding, I do not know. Strong flushing toilet, surprised me how industrial it sounded when flushed, but good. The toiletries were nice scent (where can I buy it?), would have liked to know where I can get it, it was sad the day shift employee does not know, and there were no travel size toiletries to take for me to research where to buy them. The water took what seemed like 10 minutes to get hot in the sink! The rainfall shower head is ridiculous. How can someone wash their hair with that low flow shower head? The free breakfast buffet is well worth the price of the motel. Full size buffet with: eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, belgium waffles, juices, coffee, tea and more. Its a good place to stay for a couple of days. I hope the parking garage is retrofitted for earthquakes, it just did not feel like it. Free parking, and free wifi (slow moving wifi). Paseo Colorado is just a few blocks away (nice to walk) for entertainment, restaurants, shopping, convention center. read more
