Not is only Mr. Greenwood fast and friendly but so is his staff. If there is something that they don't know, they will learn it. If there is a certain time that you need your car, they will do whatever they can to make that happen! They will look into the history of your make and model and tell you what your car's weaknesses and strengths are. You can buy the parts yourself to save money and try their best to accommodate any situation that you may have. They will work off hours for you without charging a premium. Winter's are hard for everybody, but these guys will work outside when they have to. So, are these guys angels? Are they perfect? Nope! Just try getting in for same day service, won't happen. You will have to make an appointment and you will have to wait. I don't mind waiting for the best and best priced available. You won't either! There is a reviewer who called this Mechanic a shyster, but his story does not ring true at all. I have had refunds from this place before, when an attempted fix went wrong, and not every mystery can be solved the first time. Sounds like someone was too impatient. read more

Took car back multiple times. Never was fixed properly because the part needed to come from the dealer and not their regular parts store. Gave up on greenwood and went to a different shop and they knew right away they had a to order the part from the dealer. Had to pay to have the work done all over again. read more

My family has taken many cars to Greenwood Service. Tom Greenwood, the owner has always taken great care of us. He is honest and fairly priced. As some of the other reviews have said, this is a busy shop! So at times they are not always able to offer a same day service. However, they still try to get you in and out as fast as possible. I just recently had the front brakes and rotors replaced on an Infiniti G35. They were able to do it in just about an hour or so. When my car had an issue several different repair shops were billing the repair for $2,100 plus labor but one of the Greenwood sons looked at it and fixed the problem for $200-ish total. I just had the exact same experience at Cole B. from Orem (read review below). All my friends and neighbors go to Greenwood, so I tried. My car was misfiring so I took it in - twice in a row, to try to get it right. Finally, a third time with it still misfiring and the check engine light on, they charged me $600 for changing spark plugs, and a CO2 sensor, and guess what, now the thermostat is broken and it wasn't when I took it in originally. When I told them I had a problem with paying $600 and still have my car broken, they replied, "well, you were the one who put 100K miles on your car." Really? You are the mechanic, please fix my car. Now, with a broken car, I will have to pay another mechanic to fix my car. read more

We used Greenwood Auto on our Subaru that was 15 years old. I believe we worked with Nate there, and he was awesome. We started having some electrical issues, and after some investigation, he was upfront with us about the costs. He said it might be one of a few issues, but they wouldn't know until they messed around with it further. He said the cost could be a lot or little, depending what the cause was and how long it took them to figure it out. We decided to retire the car at that point, and buy a new one, rather than bother with it. But we used them a few times on a few different cars, and they were always awesome and gave us the best deal they could. They would always try to find a used part in good condition before charging us for a brand new part, which I loved. We never had any problems with them. read more

Not perfect, but no one can be. The hard part is trying to figure out who is competent and who isn't. I've used many different shops through the years and there are some I will absolutely never use again. As an aircraft mechanic, I do much of the service on on my vehicles myself. It's only when I don't have the time or equipment to do the job myself, that I use a shop. The owners of Greenwood are fair and always do their best for you at a reasonable price. They are a very busy shop and for good reason. I have tried other shops in the area, but always come back to Greenwood. Their good reputation has come about by word of mouth. I don't think they have ever advertised during the 10 years I have known about them, they don't have to. I've always felt they are open and honest about my cars' repair needs. As an aircraft mechanic myself, I have a sense they are very competent. The reviews that speak badly about them, have very little to with how well they do their job and have more to do with how busy they always are, due to their stellar word of mouth reputation. Typical scheister mechanic. I brought my car into Greenwood after I kept experiencing misfires and a persistent service engine light. I paid Greenwood $400 to fix the problem. The very next day I experienced the same misfires and service light. So, I brought it back. Greenwood called me later to explain there was nothing wrong with my car and unless I could bring it in while the service light was on they couldn't help me. So, when the service light came on again, I called Greenwood. This time I was told that despite having paid them to fix the problem and despite having the service light on as requested they were just too busy to see me. I took my car to a different mechanic down the road and he had it fixed right away. Greenwood is glad to take your money but they don't stand by their work, nor are they interested in taking the time to diagnose a problem to make sure they get it right the first, or even the second time you bring your car in. I've been taking my personal and work vehicles to Greenwood for about 15 years. They are, I believe, 3rd generation mechanics in the same shop. They have proven their honesty and proficiency to me over and over again year after year. They are very busy because they are good. Many people that go there have been doing so for years. If you can't wait a few days to get it in then you may have to go somewhere else but for me it is worth the wait to know they will only do what needs to be done. I have gone to several mechanics over the years trying to find one I could totally trust and after I found Greenwood I haven't gone anywhere else except a dealer when my car is under warranty, and frankly that's always a pain. read more
