You've really gotta love this place. They put a pair of shocks on the back of my 2015 F150 and charged me $763.86!!! The shocks they put on can be bought on Amazon for $41 each. Given that fact, they charged me almost 10 times more than it would've cost me to install them myself! There was a total of four easily accessed bolts involved to remove and replace them, and they charged me $205.20 labor!!! Five stars for unabashed, shameless greed. One star for fairness. read more

I know my way around a wrench, but anytime I get stuck or something like balancing the AC oils is over my head, the staff here comes to my rescue. Experience and honesty sets them apart. Example, My 2001 diesel Excursion was leaking oil that seemed like it was coming from the main bearing. I brought it to a couple of transmission guys and a family member mechanic. All gave bids over $5k, I brought it to performance and 1/2 hr. later problem solved, a bad high pressure valve had gone bad. Total bill $100! I unfortunately cannot recommend this location, despite the fact that some of the staff is very nice. I am new to the area and took my 2015 hybrid car to this location based on a friend's recommendation. When asking the mechanic there if he would change oil on a newer hybrid model he responded with doubtful, "uh, sure" which should have been right then and there my sign to walk away. Upon completion of the service I entered my car to be greated with a yellow check engine light (which I had never before seen on my new car purchased directly from a dealership) and failure of the service to refile my windshield wiper fluid which was part of the "service package." I re-entered the establishment to inquire what had happened and the mechanic stated this was just an oversensitivity of the newer electronic sensory models and cleared the check engine light from the system utilizing some type of handheld electronic device. The check engine light came back three day later. So I took my car in again to have it "cleared" and again after a short period of time, the light came back on. This occurred for several more times and upon complaining to the staff, the mechanic stated whatever was happening "was not his fault" and that they would need to keep my car for several days in order to find out what was wrong with it (alluding it was not related to the oil change I had just had done with them). I did not do this as I was not offered a rental vehicle in exchange and need my car for school and commuting. Since that time I have taken my car to a dealership service who is fluent in the car brand I drive. Upon their written analysis and own oil change, whoever had last worked on my car ripped the O-ring by sheer force to the coolant tank when attempting to top off the fluids, unaware that this model has a switch that gives you access to this area. This was causing my check engine light as coolant had been leaking over my engine due to this tear. I called Professional Place to inquire whether they would cover the expenses I would not need to pay to repair this issue and was told over the phone, "there is no way to trace this issue back to them" as I had elected not to leave my car with them previously, despite the fact that the check engine light had only come on immediately after their service, was related to the "fluid top off" the mechanic both incorrectly and half-heartedly performed, and that I had a written report from this second opinion stating it was in fact likely caused by their serivice. Unfortunately, I had to pay out of pocket for THEIR mistake and the damage THEY implimented on my car. I would not recommend ANYONE with a newer modeled car go to this establishment for service. read more

I don't think this place ever has less than a 3 day wait for any service. They failed my car for a state inspection even though my car has the same setup as it did the prior year which they passed. They actually passed two other vehicles with worse issues (bad ball joints, check engine light, and air bag light) but, they decided to randomly choose to fail my car. They never called to tell me the results, I had to call two separate time. Lack of communication and common sense here. read more

I've been here a couple of times and the service is great. These guys stand by their work. Just had several things done to an old Honda Civic. One of them was to replace one of the mud guard shields. These guys are awesome. I made a mistake recently and allowed a 'friend' who owns a mechanic shop to fix my car instead of doing the right thing and taking it to Performance Place. Well the other company kept my truck for 3 1/2 weeks to supposedly 'fix'. Then, less than 50 miles into the repair by the other company I had a hole in the engine block of my truck. I knew I should have taken it to Performance in the first place but didn't to help out a 'friend'. Performance Place to the rescue... They got their tow truck out to me (I was stranded on I-15) in about 15 minutes or less. They did a diagnostic for me and helped me to figure out a plan in order to move forward in a positive way. I can't help but think that if I had taken it to Performance Place in the first place I wouldn't have had this issue. I have almost always used their services and always been treated more than fair. I hope I've learned my lesson. Stay with the shop you know does great work. Take it to the pro's in the first place, it will make your life much less stressful than mine has been. This is a family owned business. I really have enjoyed having my car worked on here. I have had a timing belt thrown from my car three times. I took it over and within 15 minutes it was fixed! We try to fix our cars at home, but when we are in a jam we take it up there, it is fixed quick and we are back on the road. However, for IM/Safety inspection for new cars especially, take your car elsewhere. We took in the family beater truck, a small Ford (I mean little) for the state testing and it was there for a WEEK!! Or you kidding? When my dad went to pick up the truck, he got a litany of what is wrong with it. They know we are not going to repair this truck to peak performance, but my dad was told, the converter was out, the plugs needed to be replaced,....but it did pass. I told them when I dropped it off, this is an old truck ('86) we just need it to pass, and we need it now. They kept the truck a week, because the "service" light was on, which after an hour was fixed. funny when I drove my Volvo home, that was still on after $600. If you have time and an extra car, this place is great. You may want to shop around to see how competitive they are. We never have because of locality (two blocks away) and when we are pinched for time/don't have the tools we take our car there. Which isn't often.
