The guy who took down our massive trees did it piece by piece with such precision--it was honestly amazing to watch. They also managed to grind down a stump that was in a really tricky spot, right up against and partially under my fence, and they did it without causing any damage. -Good price in comparison to other estimates. -Clean up required after job was done. Which I don't think is appropriate after paying a lot of money for a professional job. -Over 75% of yard/grass torn up. Tire marks/ruts left in yard. Vinyl fence broken in multiple spots. Trash and cigarette buds left by workers. -Hard to get in touch with after the job. Avoided my phone calls. Took multiple phone calls by me and 3 months to get them to come out and fix some parts of my fence and spread grass seed, they did eventually make some effort. One section of fence they fixed they used a banged up piece of vinyl fence that I had to then go out and scrub to get some of the scruff marks off to make it look decent and like it fit in with the rest of the fence. read more

Was hopeful that I could have tree removed without any issues. Not with the guys who came and did the work. They broke a decent size branch off of another tree and where going to just leave it with a jagged edge and not tell anyone. My wife stopped them before they left and asked them to put a clean cut on it. They also broke another small tree limb and just left it hanging in place. The company might be a great company for all I know but the workers who did the job at my house were hacks. Really disappointed. read more

The company I work for used Greg Smith for a large tree removal job, over 20 trees. Their pricing was competitive with the other companies we got estimates from. The work was performed professionally with a good cleanup afterwards. The thing that left the best impression was the polite and friendly interactions I had while getting estimates. Due to delays and plan changes on our end we had to get estimates multiple times. And while other companies started to get verbally agitated with me this company always gave me polite and patient interactions the multiple times they came to my property and spoke to me on the phone. We had Greg and his team come out last weekend to remove a tree and they were great. I had called two other tree companies and one never showed up to give an estimate and the other didn't call me back. Greg answered his phone the first time I called and had time to come out for the estimate within a day or two. His team showed up bright and early on Saturday morning and got started right away with cutting down the big maple. They worked on it most of the day and by the time they were finished it was like they had never even been there. They cleaned up every branch, leaf, and bit of sawdust and my yard looked great. This is second time we have used Greg Smith's tree service. First time was 1/2013 when he did a professional job at a very reasonable price. So when 2 1/2 years later we knew just who to call when we had another large tree that had become a hazard. Yesterday they took down a very large tree safely and quickly. It was obvious that all the men doing the work were experienced, knowledgeable and had good work ethics. He gave us a reasonable price for the work that needed to be done. Just like the first time we used his services. They removed all traces of the tree, ground out the stump and cleaned up every last stick leaving my property actually cleaner than when they arrived. (Because all the branches that had fallen prior to tree removal was cleared up as well.) I hope I don't lose anymore trees but if the need arises we will call Greg Smith's Tree Service again. read more

You pretty much get what you pay for with these guys. I'd recommend going with a higher quote if you're concerned about safety or quality. They took out a few trees at our place a few weeks ago, there was some damage to nearby trees that we were trying to preserve for shade and aesthetics. They missed significant chunks of the stump they ground down and needed to come back. Great experience! I have a rental house in NJ, but I live in Florida. I needed trees removed. It could have been a nightmare, but with Greg Smith that was not a problem. He took pictures of the trees and emailed me the pictures along with the contract. He was very reasonably priced and the most helpful tree company I spoke with, and I spoke with several! He even sent the after pictures. They put boards over the sidewalk so it wouldn't be damaged from the heavy equipment. Greg Smith was present the entire time. Greg Smith completed some work back in 2009/10 for us and we needed to have some more trees removes. We called and he came out and gave us a estimate. The price was fair and they took down 3 dead trees and a very large tree that was over the house. In addition they trimmed all the trees up to about 35-40 feet. They also removed all the dead limbs. This was May 2015, we would hire them again. read more
