I was looking for a peach picking place not too far from Fayetteville and found Gregg Farms! I went on a Saturday afternoon just around lunch time and it was pretty easy to find and drive to. The lot was pretty busy but we quickly found a parking spot. Once there, it was a little confusing to figure out where to go for peach picking as there's so much happening (food truck, ice cream, boiled peanuts, fresh produce, other u-pick produce like blueberries and wildflowers) but the staff was super nice and pointed us in the right direction! (Side note: before picking, we hit the restrooms which were Port-a-potties. They were fine but just fyi and bring hand sanitizer!) For peach picking, we paid $30/bucket which was a totally fair price for the amount of peaches we were able to pick! (My group of 5 split a single bucket and brought more than enough home). The picking was good and the staff was super helpful with telling us how to pick and what to look for in good fruit. We brought our own bags but they also offered paper bags which was nice. After, we had both the strawberry and peach ice cream! The peach ice cream was honestly pretty mild but the strawberry ice cream was SO GOOD and creamy and hit the spot after picking. The peaches were cracked & overripe. the tomatoes were bruised & rotting, I asked if the tomatoes were grown on their farm & was told that they came from South Georgia, as their (Gregg Farm's) crop had not come in yet. It is mid July and tomatoes are not in? They are buying from other farms and acting like they do a great job. Nooooo, I do not recommend them AT ALL. I made my living selling FRESH PRODUCE, I bought from around the world and sold locally at the Atlanta State Farmer's Market and delivered to about 11 States. A very fun outing, usually enough seating for a relaxing time. I particularly enjoy the "Sugar Baby" watermelon they sell. Every item is reasonable priced. We brought home some peach fritters and were sorry we didn't purchase more of them. Yes the soft ice cream is a treat! read more

You can't get any more Georgian than peach picking. And peachy keen Gregg Farms is the place to go! I really like going to this this family-run farm which has been operating for over 40 years. All the people working are very friendly, and the peaches have to be the best I've ever had, so juicy and sweet. You pay $20 (no credit cards accepted) to fill up a large metal bucket which holds about 25 pounds of peaches (half a bushel?) or so. After you're done, the staffers will give you a large grocery bag to put the peaches into. If you don't feel like picking, you can always buy pre-picked fruit too. Gregg Farms also offers a lot of other produce besides peaches, which I have yet to try, but I'm sure they're all delicious. Some examples include watermelons, tomatoes, blueberries, blackberries, and okra. They've also got goodies such as peach ice cream, peach bread, peach fritters, peach salsa, peach jelly, peach butter, peach hot sauce, and preserved peaches for sale. The homemade peach ice cream is tops. You can get either peach, strawberry, or peach and strawberry swirled. A cup is $3 and a cone is $3.50. The ice cream is soft serve, not too sugary, and is less creamy than you'd expect, more like a sorbet, so it's delightfully refreshing after peach picking in the hot sun for a while. Yum. Some tips: *Check the Gregg Farms Facebook page to see when and which peaches are being offered. I'm a fan of the freestone varieties. *Bring lots of water, especially if you are picking later in the day, and it's super sunny. I didn't see any water for sale, but there's a gas station close by. Take as much water as you think you need, then add more. *Prepare for the sun's merciless rays (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses) as there is little shade in the orchards. *Cash only! *The only bathroom seems to be a porta potty. *Don't leave without trying the peach ice cream! read more

I have been coming to this place for years! They have the best peach ice cream and it's always fun to pick some peaches. We picked a HUGE bucket of peaches for $26. Ate peaches all day every day for a week and they were just as fresh as the day we picked them. They're excellent in some home made peach cobbler as well! read more

Peaches are very good. We try to go once a week during the season. You need to come try it but don't forget they have great peach ice cream.

I have been coming here the last two summers to pick peaches and blueberries. This farm has several different varieties of peaches that mature at different parts of the summer. They are usually open from mid June through mid August, when the last of the peaches ripen. The peaches are quite good and several of their varieties grow quite large. You can usually get fully ripe peaches off the tree. When you do that, it's important to have them properly chilled in your car on the way back or else they may start rotting in the summer heat. They also have several rows of blueberry bushes. The picking season for blueberries is July. I strongly recommend getting produce straight from the farm whenever you can. The quality is much better than what you get in a supermarket and it's worth the drive if you're coming from the Atlanta area. This is a family run farm and the staff running the peach stand is really friendly. They make their own peach ice cream, which seems to be popular, but I've never tried it myself. read more

On a recent Rose road trip we happen by Greg farm. It was the season for picking peaches. Now who doesn't like a good sweet juicy peach. Of course we had to stop and pick basket of peaches. I have heard the stories behind this farm but I'm not really aware of them. I was just a tourist traveling through and wandered up on something that looked unique and fun and nutritious.. This farm has quite a bit of history, and they develop and get better every year. It is my favorite place to get peaches, blueberries, and sometimes blackberries- if they are ripe. I usually stop by 3-4 times per summer from June- Aug. The blueberries are big and plentiful, and the peaches are always yummy- (they have a great variety of breeds depending on when you go) The peach ice cream in the waffle cone or cup is to best homemade peach ice cream you will ever eat. Be sure to sit in the rocking chairs under the old elevator(?) with the ceiling fan for the true 'summer in the south' experience. This is a great place to take visitors if you live in the state. They also have wonderful treats like peach barbecue sauce, peach bread, peach jelly, and much more! Not to be missed! read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO. My wife, 15-year old daughter and my daughter's teenaged friend visited Gregg Farms. They paid $25 in order to take pictures, they bought peaches, ice cream, etc. - things were going great. When in the field, my daughter (with the permission of my wife) picked five (5) peaches from the tree and was going to pay for them on the way back to the main building. When my teen and her friend were separated from my wife, a ~50 year old man came out and commenced to berate my daughter and her friend for quite some time - being verbally aggressive toward them and accusing them of stealing - what a guy! What's frustrating is that this happened when my daughter was alone with her friend, away from my wife. When my wife, from afar, signaled (by waiving at him) to speak with the abusive man, he hurried away. This is unacceptable (and in my opinion cowardly). If there were any rules broken, the employee should've communicated to us like an adult; just calm down and be a grown up. Patrons beware, don't let your minors pick peaches and try to pay for them in the wrong order. GO PICK AT ANOTHER FARM. Life's too short and peaches are too sweet, to have the experience soured by a forceful middle-aged man who approaches and berates good kids (and flees from reasonable adults who want to reasonably talk it through). Side note, my wife is a portrait photographer and was scouting beautiful places to take pictures (and gladly pay fees to Gregg Farms). She'll never go back - can't risk exposing clients to the volatility, unprofessionalism, and downright nastiness from the folks at Gregg Farms. read more

Owner was extremely rude and unprofessional to my family and me today. My daughter was not feeling well this morning and as a two-year-old who cannot fully express herself yet, was upset and overly hot (even though she had her sippy cup). The owner approached me and asked me if I spank my child (not hello, or may I help you, or thank you for visiting us today). Not that it was ANY of her business, but I told her that I have spanked her, however she was not feeling well. The owner replied, "Well, your daughter needs it again!". If I had better sense, I would have taken my family and we would have left right then. We had my children's Great aunt and grandmother visiting with us (so I was not going to let this lady ruin our family time). But I absolutely could not believe that she would approach me in such a manner and tell me how to discipline my children in front of all the customers, and the rest of the staff. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I am still shocked that they are in business with this horrible level of professionalism. I calmly (never once raising my voice) asked her at the end of our picking if she tells all of the customers how to discipline their children or just me. She literally replied, "Just you!". She has no idea about the circumstances regarding my family, my daughter's health, or her condition. I am truly at a loss and disappointed that someone (THE OWNER, NO LESS) would attack me and my family in such a manner, as we were minding our own business and she approached me out of the blue. We will of course never come back, and I would caution anyone to do so, based on our experience. I am not sure if the owner was having a bad day or what, but I am no less disgusted. I have been coming to Gregg Farms for years to pick my blueberries and blackberries and get the delicious Elberta peaches. It's pretty much a family tradition for us. I keep thinking I will plant my own berries, but I keep coming back to Gregg's! Staff is always friendly. And it's a treat to sit and eat refreshing ice cream (and who cares it's from a machine!) after picking berries all morning. They grow some awesome tomatoes too! read more

My wife and I went to Gregg Farms to pick peaches We were told to pull around to the back to get the peaches bagged after we finished. We are African Americans. We did not observe any other vehicles going to the back. I was told that my truck would have to be searched after I took out the two buckets of peaches that we had picked. I told the person that I was a Pastor and had no reason to steal peaches. I refused to allow my truck to be searched. I also told the owner that we had been coming for several years to pick peaches. The owner told me that if he couldn't search my truck, he would call the police. I did finally allow him to search my truck and, of course, he found no peaches, other than what was purchased. There were no printed signs stating that vehicles would be searched. We recommend that people going to Gregg Farms acknowledge that this was a form of racism that is being practiced by them. We suggest that people do not do any business with them. Is it fair to invite people onto your property and accuse them of stealing? That's a form of intimidation. read more
