I decided to Google him and found that he has a really good online reputation and knows how to do his job well. As someone who wanted to join the Secret Service, one of the mandated requirements to join is getting eye surgery. Where to begin! After a horrible experience at another vision center, I found Dr. Feinerman. The staff is wonderful, happy, caring and organized. On October 24, 2019 I had elective lens replacement surgery in my left eye, performed by Dr. Feinerman. I had poor distance vision in that eye and wanted to be able to see distance objects clearly and sharply, especially for driving. I had glasses that gave me good distance vision but I wanted to achieve that same quality of distance vision without glasses. Other than the distance focus problem, I had no problems with my eyes - no astigmatism or other impairments. Dr. Feinerman recommended lens replacement, rather than LASIK, because of my age. During my exams and prior to the surgery, I stressed, over and over, that I wanted "really good distance vision". I must have said that a dozen times to Dr. Feinerman. By "really good distance vision" I mean vision as good as I had pre-surgery with a corrective lens (sharp focus of distance objects and no astigmatism). I had the lens replacement surgery early in the morning of the 24th and Dr. Feinerman called me late that afternoon to see how I was doing. I reported at that time that my distance vision was not clear (not well focused). Dr. Feinerman said that my vision would likely improve over time. Well, it hasn't. I now have middle vision. Distance objects are not well focused but objects closer to me are focused - objects perhaps 10 to 30 feet away from me. And while I never had any astigmatism in my pre-surgery eye, I now have astigmatism in my left eye. I see a shadow image of a distant object, offset upwards at about 1 on a clock face. I reported my disappointment in the outcome of the surgery to Dr. Feinerman both in writing (a letter on December 30, 2019) and then verbally every time I've seen him after the surgery. He told me that surgery to replace the lens with the correct one is too risky. So, now, after paying a lot of money to get good distance vision, I still have to wear glasses to drive (if I want good distance vision). Every time I get into my car and put on my glasses I'm reminded of the poor outcome of my lens replacement surgery. Recommendation: If you don't have cataracts don't get lens replacement. Stick with your glasses. I gave three stars because I still have vision in that eye - just not the vision I wanted and expected. [Added note: To add insult to injury, they charged me for an eyeglasses prescription to correct the vision in my left eye.] read more

This review is long overdue but I got my lasik procedure done by Dr. Feinerman back in August 2020 after a friend of mine raved about his experience. I have had astigmatism and near-sightedness since I was a kid and had always wanted to get lasik done but was afraid to make the move. It's a bit un-nerving looking for a doctor and I was so excited to find a friend who underwent the procedure and had such wonderful things to say about the doctor. Immediately after speaking with my friend, I booked a consultation with Dr. Feinerman. The consultation was free, but the staff did mention that for patients over 40 a consultation fee would apply due to natural vision loss with age and the doctor wanting to ensure all his patients had realistic expectations and would be happy with their results. The consultation itself was highly thorough - I was seen by 2 of his staff and finally Dr. Feinerman himself. It was great to be able to meet the surgeon who would be performing my surgery and he was so friendly and thorough with the examination. He noticed a very small hemorrhage on my eye and referred me over to a retina specialist close to my home to double check my eye before preceding with the surgery. He even personally called the retina center up himself in front of me and scheduled my appointment for the next morning! The surgery itself was a breeze although I was very nervous. They offer some medication to calm your nerves if you like and the surgery itself is about 3 minutes. Afterwards I went home and fell asleep. The next day I woke up and I had 20/20 vision! It was so surreal waking up to the world without needing any contacts or glasses. Dr. Feinerman even texted me the morning after which was on a Saturday to make sure I was doing fine. He provides you with his cellphone so you can text or call him with any concerns. I asked him a week later if it would be okay for me to wear mascara and he responded within 3 minutes! He is such an amazing doctor and I cannot recommend him enough. The surgery truly changed my life and I am so grateful to Dr. Feinerman and his amazing staff. I had my first Lasik consultation with Dr. Feinerman back in February 2019, like many of you, thinking I should keep on looking and get a second opinion or something. So, I waited. What a waste of time! About two weeks ago, I finally decided to undergo Lasik, so I send an email to his clinic on Saturday morning to schedule an appointment. I searched tons of doctors in my area for Lasik and I wasn't happy with the results. After doing a lot of research I decided on Dr. Feinerman whose office almost 2 hours away from my house and it was well worth the drive. Dr Feinerman and his staff are courteous, knowledgeable and caring. I've never felt rushed and they've always taken their time to answer all of my questions without making me feel like a bother. During the procedure I was nervous but Dr. Feinerman & his assistant kept me informed every step of the way and helped by counting down different steps of the procedure. I was surprised how quick it took. I slept most of the procedure day away and woke up the next morning seeing clearly! It's surreal to be able to open my eyes and see without having to fumble around for glasses. Dr. Gregg is the best! My wife and I each had Lasik (on the same day) with Dr. Gregg and now we're both seeing 20/15! My wife and I each wore glasses/contacts for the past 30+ years and we've never been able to see better than 20/20 - and it's seriously the most awesome feeling to know you're seeing perfect (or better than perfect), day or night, without glasses or contacts! My wife and I - after toying with the idea of having Lasik for years - were all set to have our Lasik done with another doctor and then we thought we ought to get just one more consultation (it is after all your eyes, so why not be discerning and diligent in seeking physician consultations???). So one of our friends referred us to Dr. Gregg after their brother-in-law had Lasik with him and had nothing but great things to say about him. During our in-office consultation and exam, we met with one of Dr. Gregg's optometrists and received confirmation that we were each candidates. Then Dr. Gregg came in the room to meet with us and we instantly hit it off with him and we knew right then that he was going to be the ophthalmologist to perform our Lasik! My wife is a bit of a hypochondriac and asks a ton of questions, but Dr. Gregg took his time with us, answered every one of our questions, and thoroughly explained the procedure. On the day of our procedure, Friday morning, my wife and I arrived early, signed all the necessary paperwork, had our eyes examined one last time and then went into the procedure room with Dr. Gregg. I was pretty nervous about the procedure as I could never even hold my eyes open enough to even wear contacts, so the thought of holding them (or having them held) open long enough for a laser to fix my astigmatism was a little nerve wracking. But to my dismay, this thankfully wasn't Dr. Gregg's first surgery and he knew exactly how to calm a patient like me down and more importantly, he knew how to keep my eyes open! The procedure went flawless for both my wife and I and afterwards, Dr. Gregg was incredibly thoughtful and called me on the evening of our surgery day to check in. We've had a few follow-up visits with Dr. Gregg since our procedure and at each visit, Dr. Gregg has been and is the nicest and coolest doctor I've ever met! My wife had a few issues finding the right eye drop solution (thankfully the standard artificial tears worked fine for me) and Dr. Gregg has always made himself available to answer questions and has taken more than adequate time to ensure that my wife's and my eyes are comfortable post-op. I couldn't be happier with the work Dr. Feinerman has done on my eyes. I had lasik about a week and a half ago. The procedure was so short - it was about 5 minutes for each eye, and I was probably in and out of the building in 30 minutes. The surgery was in the morning and then I slept the entire rest of the day. Next day, I woke up and I had 20/20 vision with a little bit of dryness and sensitivity, which is completely normal. This review was originally posted in November 2013. Our original appointment was scheduled 2 months in advance in October. Then, the day before our appointment the receptionist called to cancel/reschedule us. When I explained that I specifically scheduled our appointment for that day because it was a day off, she didn't seem to care nor did she apologize! They were able to get us in the following Monday, but that was a huge mistake! We waited for an over an hour just to be seen!! Not one person in that office ever apologized, explained why we were waiting, or said anything about poor customer service be given to us and a room full of other patients. In fact, the young women in the front office laughed and joked while we attempted to entertain our well behaved children. It's shocking to see 5 stars given to this doctor because I would pay hundreds of dollars more to be treated by another vision doctor! Let me start by saying that I wish i could give more than 5 stars to Dr. Feinerman & his team. Choosing him to do the procedure was the best decision of my life. **Warning** - this may be a lengthy post but if you are considering getting LASIK and would like to know what my experience was at this practice - it will be worth the time to read below. - - - - - I have been seriously considering Lasik for the better part of 10 years. Every time i said i was going to find a doctor , for one reason or another i changed my mind about the practice or found bad reviews on the doctor and decided to keep looking. When i tell you my vision was BAD - I mean so bad I couldn't clearly read the large "E" on the eye chart ! After the past year of bad allergies and dry eyes from working on the computer 40-50 hrs a week , I couldn't put it off any longer. I oddly found Dr. Feinerman's practice through YouTube after watching 2 of the people I subscribe to have their Lasik done by Gregg. Watching them go through the procedure and being able to follow their recovery process made me a lot more comfortable with booking a consultation. I chose my availability through their website and someone contacted me the following day to confirm a time that worked for the both of us. booking the appointment took me tops 5 minutes and they send reminders through text which is GREAT for a busy & forgetful person like myself. I currently live in Burbank so driving 1.5 - 2 hrs is quite a journey, especially in L.A. traffic! When arriving to their office for the first time, it was clean &quiet... the staff was polite & efficient.. and i felt good about the first impression overall. I had my eyes checked by 2 different members of the staff to determine my prescription and overall eye health. (TIP : If you wear contacts bring the refill box to that they can easily know what your current prescription is ). This took about 30 minutes. I was then able to meet with Dr. Feinerman who gave me a summary of my results and had me watch a few clips to determine if Lasik was the best option for me as well as what I can expect from the procedure & recovery periods. Before leaving, i was able to book my appointment (3 weeks out) to have the procedure done. If you are someone who is paranoid, anxious, uncomfortable .... or any other descriptive word for ' difficult patient to undergo a procedure that involves YOUR EYES ' - you're probably just like me. I was nervous the entire 2 hour drive there but the minute I arrived, i signed some paperwork, went under the laser and was ready to leave in - NO EXAGGERATION - 15-20 minutes. Dr. Feinerman explained every step of the process as it was happening. He told me what i should expect to experience as he performed the surgery( ex:" in a minute your vision may become a little more blurry", "now you may feel a slight pressure" etc. ) so I was put at ease that everything that was happening was completely normal and his calm demeanor kept me from freaking out. There was no pain or discomfort ( i KNOW- unbelievable right?! - if i didn't experience it myself i wouldn't believe it either). I slept in the car on the way home and went to bed as soon as i arrived (TIP: If possible book the last appointment of the day- it was so nice to go home and sleep through the night and wake up in the morning to BRAND NEW VISION.) Dr. Feinerman gave me his cell number and told me to contact him during the weekend if I had any questions. He also texted me the following day to see how I was doing. I told him my right eye was not as sharp as the left and he reassured me this is normal ( IT WAS - I can see much better now). I then saw him 2 days later to check how i was healing - and everything went as planned. I have now had new vision for almost a month and will be going to my '1 month' follow up next week. You don't realize how much contacts & glasses can affect your daily activities until you don't need them anymore. So- had my lenses replaced a couple of years ago and we had to redo the surgery in the right eye - which thank god he had the skills to do. A few months later I needed to have a laser treatment so I could see out of said right eye, also done flawlessly. Now, here I am. Paid cash for a procedure and received excellent care - hands down, but two years later my right eye is not only useless because of the blurred vision but now floaters, which is surprisingly dangerous. Dr Feinerman no longer accepts my insurance - which now that it's been two years I guess falls under insurance- and you are being referred to whoever in your plan that specializes in retinas. Had I known every few months I would need a laser treatment to be sent to whatever specialist, I would not have done this. I thought this was a lifelong treatment, with a Dr. I could go to with issues - seems to be a pure cash business now so keep that in mind. read more

Was a very long term patient of Dr. Feinerman. Went in recently to have him recheck my cataract situation for possible surgery and his front desk person took my insurance card, then requested and ran my credit card for my co-pay for the visit - saying it'll just be $50 today. When I mentioned I'd like a note in my file to let me know what is and is not expected to be covered by my insurance before I run up expenses she said, oh, it's another $50 (or maybe more, I forget the exact amount) to have your eyes refraction checked today and insurance doesn't cover that. I was so irritated they were going to check me for glasses but not tell me it was not covered until AFTER they did it, I walked out. Understand, I was not concerned about the $50 upcharge, but the lack of communication about expenses - could add up REALLY fast when surgery or medical procedures of any type are involved, and I do know insurance does not cover everything. I have been seeing Dr. Feinerman for about 5 years now...and I have made and cancelled LASIK 3 times - they were always so gracious and understanding. Well, about a month ago I went through with it and it was the best decision I ever made. Dr. Feinerman truly wants to make sure that his patients are happy - he enjoys connecting with them and wants to ensure that they are at ease. My recovery was easy and minimal, I no longer have to wear glasses (and I had a sever stigmatism) and I would for sure recommend him to all my friends. 5 Stars for my first visit to Dr. Feinerman's office. Very welcoming staff. Thorough testing for my aging eyes. Dr. Feinerman discussed all my test results with me, taking time to answer all my questions. Would definitely refer friends and family to Dr. Feinerman. In fact, as I entered the elevator to go up to the office, a man and woman also stepped into the elevator. About a month ago I had the great pleasure of receiving the optimum patient care and miraculous results at this center. It is so evident that each and every person in this practice truly cares about their patients and loves what they do. From start to finish I was made to feel comfortable and treated with the paramount "bedside" manner as the staff patiently answered all of my questions and prepared me for the procedure. On the day of my lasik surgery the staff welcomed me into a clean and comfortable room where they put my mind at ease with their fun loving attitudes and great music selection before the procedure. The procedure was quick and painless and the doctor calmly talked me through the process step my step. After returning home for a 3 hour nap I awoke amazed that I could see and there was no pain. I followed all the doctors orders with the eye drops and was able to go out for a 5 mile run the next day where I observed a sunrise independent of glasses or contacts for the first time. Upon my follow up visit Dr. Feinerman informed me I had 20/20 vision and had healed perfectly. He capped off this visit with a hug which went to show how much he genuinely cares about his patients. I have not experienced any halos or issues since. The work this office does is nothing sort of miraculous and I can assuredly say that this was my best experience ever with a medical office and Doctor!
