What was more impressive was that I was able to start this yesterday, got an appointment for today, and as I type this, the whole engagement is finished! Greg showed up right on time and got to work. I had another tuner come out a few weeks back and when he left my piano sounded so off, was like my piano was broken... for lack of a better way to articulate how out of tune it sounded. We inherited an older piano from my grandmother, and we could never quite get it tuned correctly. We've had other tuners come out and didn't have much success - one tuner actually suggested it would be cheaper to just get rid of this piano and buy a new one, vs continuing to dump money on the one we had. Greg was our last resort - if he couldn't get it tuned properly, then we were going to sadly have to let go of my grandmother's piano and get one that could play correctly. He was super communicative, and came within the week. In an hour and a half, he had my grandmother's piano playing beautifully!!! He saw no need to replace our piano and said with regular tuning, it would be fine. This review is overdue... was sitting at my piano last night and spent over 2 hours just playing songs that i had saved on my iPad. Truly enjoyed myself. Also realized that i had yet to write a review for Gregory. My piano had not been tuned for over 10 years. Every time i had the itch to play something or when guests would come over, it would be embarrassing to play and hear such a bad sounding piano. I KNEW that the piano was out of tune (by at least 2 whole steps for some keys) and still did nothing to help it out... poor piano just wanted to sing beautifully as she did many years ago when i had motivation to play. So, i looked on Yelp one afternoon last year and found Gregory Smith. Left and inquiry message with him. He called back quickly and we discussed what i needed. He was very understanding and informative. i ended up scheduling an appointment the following week. He lives nearby and has clients on my street.
