A few years ago when I purchased my new piano, I had its initial service completed by a manufacturer-recommended technician. The service was awful and my piano was left out-of-tune. Furthermore, that piano tuner took advantage of the chance to try and sell me a bunch of accessories in which I was completely uninterested. I was fortunate to find Greg soon afterwards, and I couldn't be happier. His meticulous care of my expensive instrument has always been exceptional. As my piano has gotten broken-in over the years, he takes pains to make small adjustments that ensure that its touch and sound remain at its best. This review is long overdue. Firstly the woman on the phone is so very attentive and nice. I'm very picky as to whom I want in my home and from the get go, Gregory was so professional and kind in demeanor. He quietly worked his magic tuning my upright to a tee. Mr.Smith is a Class A Piano Tuner. He has been a world class touring keyboard player for some of the biggest artists in the modern pop era. His sense of tone and melody combined with his tuning skills is at the highest level. He tuned up an old piano I recently purchased. One of the keys was stuck and he was able to fix the key back to its original position. In the process, one of the strings broke and he came back with a replacement a few days later. He restrung the key and it sounds awesome. He also said that with time the new string may loosen up and drop in its register, and when this happens he will return to retighten/adjust this string free of charge. When he finishes his work, he will regale you with a beautiful piece that he plays on your newly tuned piano. Greg provides world class service at extremely modest rates. Found Greg on Yelp and emailed him. He promptly responded and gave me pricing info which includes tuning and optional pitch raise, if needed. His prices are good and even beat one of those limited-time only website deals from another piano tuner. He has convenient hours and even works on Saturdays. He arrived on the day of the appointment exactly on time! He has all his tools and equipment in a luggage bag which i found interesting and I even made a joke asking if he was moving in. He is a very nice, pleasant person and took his time. After he tested my piano, he suggested a pitch raise and gave me his price, but he also told me if i did not want the pitch raise i could just get the tuning by itself. He was not forceful at all and did not try to upsell. He came across as a very honest and trusting good guy. I opted for the pitch raise and tuning since my piano had not been tuned in many years. It took him about 2 hours to get the pitch raise and tuning done. He even fixed my wooden book holder/stand at no charge even though he admitted he is not an expert in wood repair, but hey, he still was able to fix at no charge with a couple of screws I found! He has a great ear for music since, as he explained, he's been playing piano since he was a kid and even had a band and played solo gigs. Who else would you want to tune your piano, than someone who has a great ear for music and has been playing piano all his life?? He even blessed my piano with a great tune that he played after the service was done! I'm happy with the service and the price! read more

Greg was AMAZING! He was able to tune a piano I bought on craigslist that had been neglected for years. Also, the strings were spray painted over which he told me can ruin a piano but it wasn't ruined and he made it sound beautiful. He was very knowledgeable and my piano sounds wonderful. His wife, Melissa does all of the scheduling and such and she was a doll! Super sweet on the phone and was able to answer all of my questions. I can't say enough good things about my experience. Well it seems that the only direction Gregory needs! He certainly needs no direction in tuning a piano. He tuned our piano, and he repaired a broken part that I have been afraid to ask the cost to repair, until today. What a great price! I have rarely found the time to review on yelp but Gregory Smith definitely earned my time. I made an appointment with his lovely wife, he came the next day, and he made our 1885 piano sound beautiful. I was concerned because it hadn't been tuned in more than 7 years, but he didn't have any problems. His price was more than reasonable. When I told him it was a surprise for Father's Day, he made the time to come back the next day and repair the broken pedals so that it was perfect for Sunday. He had to drive a long distance for the parts, and got extra parts just in case he needed them. He repaired the pedals to "good as new" condition, and didn't charge me for his time to get the parts.
