I have a new upright Piano for two years. And I didn't like the two previous Piano tuners because one were an hour late and one were talking nonstop while he was tuning so it took forever. I found Matt here on Yelp, and I requested a quote from him for one of my relative's Piano's that had not been tund in 5+ years. I know nothing about the Piano; however, he spoke in terms I understood. He was very quick to respond and set up an appointment in a very reasonable amount of time. He provided a range of possible prices, all within reasonable amounts of each other. He also guesstimated the time it would take and provided all the information I needed to know. He showed up on time, on the day of the appointment. I spent most of my time trying to keep the kids out of the room and away from him, so he could concentrate on the Piano. Matt has been tuning our pianos at the Pasadena Playhouse for the past couple of shows. Matt's been reliable, understanding of our crazy production schedules, and easy to work with. As a 100-year-old building, our pianos are almost just as old. They've also gone un-played for long periods of time. Last summer, I reached out to Matt. Our piano has not been tuned for over a decade. I reached out to Matt and another vendor. I went with Matt because he promptly responded to my inquiry. On the date of the service, Matt arrived on time. He spent nearly two hours tuning and cleaning our piano. We also asked him to help us repair a broken piano tray. He readily agreed but cautioned that the glue may or may not hold. We were fine with that. A couple months later, the piano tray broke again. We reached out to two piano suppliers, both of them told us that the manufacturer no longer makes that particular piano tray size. Desperate, we reached out to Matt again for help. This is where Matt really shines. He could have said no. Instead, he promptly responded that he would come take a look as he was working nearby. He took the piano tray back with him and consulted with a professional. He used a stronger glue. Then he brought it back a week later and re-installed the piano tray without any additional charge. The piano tray remains intact to this very day. I completely trust Matt with the piano and will use his services again. He is professional, reliable, and honest. read more

Matt Hill is a real live definition of a consummate professional. He tuned our old piano from the late Seventies and it sounds beautiful. The past two tuners we had up to our house did a very efficient job, but in the end they were really just cold technicians.
