Gregory's is a great small family owned dinner. They have a whole Gluten free menu with lots of options, and have dedicated prep cooking for your gluten free food. The restaurant was pretty busy but service was great and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. I got the Gluten free Eggs Benedict and Gluten free pancakes. The hollandaise sauce on the Benedict's was great, the eggs could have been cooked just a tad longer as the inner white part wasn't cooked through. Gregory Family Restaurant has many aspects one loves about family restaurants including diner quality coffee and homestyle breakfast. A couple of the unique features of Gregory's was the wall of family photos and the carousel of birthday cards. The staff is friendly and help one another for a wonderful customer service experience. There is a men's and a women's restroom with one stall per restroom. Gregory's Family Restaurant is in a great location due to being in a plaza with various stores and other restaurants, yet far enough away from the hustle & bustle of mall traffic. I came here for lunch with my grandfather today and was excited to try their gluten free options. Not only did they have an entire extensive menu dedicated to gluten-free dishes, they also incorporate them in to their daily specials and their bakery items. I tried the chicken tenders and sweet potato fries. There were three tenders - which were actually the size of full chicken breasts- coated in a crunchy coating. Great flavor and quickly served. My chicken was fully cooked but cold in the middle. They quickly re-fried them and they came out nice and hot. The fries were served with brown-sugar butter which was really good. I took home six iced cutout cookies which I have not been able to find since going GF. They were really good and although they do have a different texture, they were still delicious. My only wish is that this place would stay open a little later than 2pm. I would really love to try the beer battered fish when they have it but can't make it all the way here and back on a lunch break from work. read more

We found this place thanks to Yelp and it did not disappoint. Stepping inside the restaurant felt like stepping back into 1983, which is when it opened and when it was last decorated. Nothing bad about that just interesting. Lots of pastel! We went for breakfast at 10 on a Saturday and got seated pretty quickly. Their menu is standard breakfast fare, all the usual suspects. We ordered a mix of eggs, biscuits and gravy, home fries and bacon. All were good, nothing fancy just good food. The one down side is that it does take forever to get said food. But they do keep the coffee flowing while you wait. Prices are super reasonable. It's worth a visit! We will definitely be back! read more

I eat there a couple of times per month. Service is good, staff friendly. The food is usually great with occasional lapses. Love the sausage gravy over biscuits, but it could be served hotter. The last few times it's been just lukewarm. Sometimes the biscuits are a tad undercooked. Waffles and French toast are very good, real butter would be an improvement over the whipped tasteless stuff in the paper cups. Maybe heat the syrup? At least make real butter an option. The one weak item, which is surprising, are the omelettes. The eggs are thin and flat, not fluffy, and the last time I got one, not even beaten well, so the whites were thready in the yolks. These are a real fail, and nothing like an omelette should be. The veggies in the western style were barely cooked, and cold. Everything needs to be hotter when served, this is probably my biggest complaint. Last time we got cups of soup, the soup was just warm, not at all like soup should be. read more

Was looking for a local, family run place for a late breakfast and Gregory's did the trick. Servers were friendly and attentive, menu had a lot of variety and the food was decent. They had hard plastic dividers between booths and servers were all masked. Clean up crew sprayed disinfectant once a booth was vacated. The staff was lovely , sweet and fast on their ends - I got crab cake eggs benidict - the eggs were ridiculously under cooked , half the white was liquid . The hollandaise sauce was thin and under seasoned . The 'crab cake' was more a crab? Mush . Not tasty . Soft , no crispness . I also ordered fries which came long after everyone's food and were undercooked - I sent them back for recooking and didn't get them until our whole family was done eating . Returned to Gregory's for a late breakfast a couple weeks ago and ordered the CRABCAKE EGGS BENEDICT! It was as fabulous as before: eggs perfectly cooked so that the runny richness of that yellow yoke melted into the rich hollandaise and the crab cake. My ONLY "meh" moment was in finding out that some of the crab in the crabcake was the fake stuff. It had a wonderful flavor, but that discovery muted my enthusiasm a little. As I said earlier, it WAS a late hour for breakfast, so perhaps they had run out of the real stuff and needed a quick substitute. Since we live nowhere near an ocean, and crayfish are gross, I could not reasonable expect them to run to the docks for some fresh crab. My visits have been more than satisfactory to this point, so I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. David and I accidentally tried this restaurant the one we were going to was already closed. It's a good thing it was because this place is amazing. We ordered eggs over easy, bacon, pancakes and fried potatoes. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was crisp but not crumbly, the pancakes were fluffy and some of the best we've had around. The wait staff was so pleasant and helpful when I ask for additional butter and jelly she took longer than what she wanted to and came back and apologized profusely for taking so long. I enjoy this place because of the hometown feel. It's definitely not fine dining and I don't expect it to be, but I ordered the "crab" cake benedict and it was made with imitation crab. We went here for breakfast. The restaurant was relatively clean and was pretty crowded which is a pretty good sign you've made a good choice. We ordered eggs benedict, biscuits and gravy and the old standby of 2 eggs, toast and home fries. The eggs, toast, and home fries were average. The eggs were cooked as ordered. The home fries were very basic cut potatoes with no extra anything. Those were the biggest disappointment. The toast was actually a highlight of the meal. The eggs benedict were pretty good. House made hollandaise sauce was a nice touch. They claim "Best in Ohio". I will disagree, but that's not to say they were bad. They were just average. Also, we ordered a side of red onion that initially came out looking a little rough (browning). We asked for a replacement that was fresh. The biscuits and gravy tasted all house made which is nice to see since so many restaurants get it pre packaged. It was the highlight of our meal. Where do I even begin?! First took so long for someone to come give us drinks then got to order food the food was freezing cold asked them to remake it couldn't eat the biscuits and gravy then comes back plate is hot but food is still cold! The gluten free menu covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. They also offer gluten-free desserts. I ordered breakfast there the other day, and it was like 7$. Unbelievable deal!! I also ordered a gluten free dessert to go. I like being able to eat out gluten free. I've ordered gluten-free pancakes, omelets, cheeseburgers, vegetarian lasagna and much more. Only problem is they are only open a few hours a day, so I try to order on the weekend when I'm out shopping. Why is it so hard to find a good breakfast place these days? My order was delivered (cold, but it was a delivery and I could fix that) I really wanted some good home fries and was sooo disappointed. Pale, soggy and tasteless. I'm guessing they're frozen, but jeez, cook them. The corned beef "hash" was just little cubes of what might have been corned beef at some stage with a couple bits of potato, revolting. Canned hash would have been better than this mess. The meat tasted like old leftover boiled beef that had gone off. No peppers or onions and NO flavor other than slightly spoiled meat. The biscuits were super small, pasty and horrible, clearly the cheapest frozen biscuits available. They sausage gravy was really good. The omelet was goodish and they were generous with the ingredients but it was cooked on the griddle and you could taste burgers on The fried mush fine, but make sure you have your own butter as they use some gross whipped spread instead of the real deal. Any breakfast joint that doesn't have real butter is a fail. I was however really impressed with the young lady who took and packed my order, she was gracious, on point and made sure I had all I needed...except good food, which was not her fault. Don't let the pics fool you, IHOP is better. Bummer. read more

This is one of those little hole in the wall, no frills, traditional small town diner style restaurants. Having been there easily over 2 dozen times, it's easy to see why the place is always filled to at least 80% capacity. Good prices, great food, AMAZING PIES. Just be sure to get a craving for it on any day except Monday, which is their off day. So why only 1 star? The service received today was reprehensible and unlike anything I've ever received at this establishment. The waitress, Crystal, should not be working in any sort of public environment but especially not one where the reputation of a traditional "mom and pop" restaurant is on the line. We got there around 1 and it was incredibly busy so we had to wait a few minutes for a table to be cleaned off. Not a problem, we looked at their special's board (which changes daily). Our drinks were ordered and brought with speed and we were assured our waitress Crystal would be right over. It was nearly 15 minutes later that we were finally asked our order by this Crystal and there were immediate problems. The orders were simple and straight forward: A turkey deli sandwich (which is listed on the menu as coming with Swiss cheese, lettuce, and tomato) on rye toast with mayo on the side, chips, and a side of potato salad. The second order was a bacon, egg, and American cheese breakfast sandwich on rye toast. This was the order that caused a fuss. Crystal immediately started questioning what KIND of egg, as their breakfast sandwiches are not made on toast so she had no idea what I wanted (despite the fact that all their breakfast sandwiches are made the exact same and I've ordered it on toast with no problems before). I told her I just wanted it the normal way for the breakfast sandwich and she rolled her eyes and said "so you want it folded over" to which I replied yes since that's what I assumed they called that way. She walked away and said "was that so hard to answer". Food arrived it was noted that the turkey sandwich did not have any tomato or lettuce on it, despite those being standard ingredients listed on the menu. This was not a problem however. What was a problem was the fact that the mayo provided on the side at request was clearly spoiled and rancid just by a simply taste test so we did not eat it. We did decide to order one of their famous cut out cookies TO GO, as we do every single time we come in. Crystal returned with the cookie on a plate, to which we replied it was actually to go and asked for it to be placed in one of their cookie bags like always. She immediately went from standard waitress to angry and looking for a fight. She began to argue with us saying we didn't say to go, despite both of us saying to go. She went behind the counter, brought out a small box, slammed it down, picked up the plate and cookie and threw it into the box. While doing this, both of us had to look at each other and nervously laugh at the attitude of this woman. It was then that we also asked for a large box as we wanted to leave. She came back with a DRINKING CUP, slammed it onto the table and stared me down while saying "Do you have a problem here?!" while moving her neck and having her arms crossed, almost as if wanting to start a fight. By now both of us were very uncomfortable and simply wanted to leave. We had to ask another waitress, a sweet older one, for a box and went to pay the bill that was silently placed in passing on our table by Crystal. When asked how our meal was we said the food was excellent but the waitress was incredibly rude. The owner was brought over to talk to us where we relayed the attitude we had received from her employee. She was very understanding and apologetic, saying she would talk to Crystal and offering us a bag for our containers. We left so I'm not sure if Crystal was reprimanded for her attitude and treatment of customers. Unfortunately, I don't see us returning to this local establishment because the entire experience today was so off putting. read more
