Our favorites are the Palmer, sliced turkey and bacon with a pesto mayo, and I absolutely love the chicken patties on a sub and even took a picture for my review. Lasagne and Baked ZIti from the hot case are also winter staples, and my kid loves the chicken fingers and hot dogs. I should not forget to mention the bacon corn chowder, or the fall apple crisp. I know most Vermont spots have incredible coffee, and VGM is no exception. I want to scream at all the cars waiting at the Dunkin on Rt 7, there's much better coffee and breakfast sandwiches, freshly made to order just a moment away!! The Shack that is set up in the summer is a grill spot for amazing burgers and dogs and fries... deli and cold salads inside, hot case for soups and hot dishes, and the outdoor shack is seasonal but seriously insanely good burgers. Perfect family dinner spot in the summer, we get our grill items outside and creemees inside to enjoy at the gazebo on the village green. Local bakeries supply the sweets but they also have all the candy staples, my favorite are always peach rings, and the new Reese's Take 5, and sweet spicy chili Doritos. Feels like family when I'm there so I always request my favorites anyways. Make this your new favorite lunch spot too!!!

I was satisfied with my decision to stop by and was greeted by a couple of kindly local folk who were staffing the store. They were doing good business when I stopped by notifying me that there were orders of five subs and a pizza, for pick up, before they could get to my sandwich order. The two people working were both putting together sandwiches quickly and efficiently, while one would go to the checkout when a customer was ready. The sandwiches were of generous proportions, well made and tasted delicious. I ordered a large roast beef sub with lettuce, tomato, onions, cheddar, and spicy mustard. The meat was of good quality and the veggies were fresh and crisp! It was just what I needed after a long day of exertion, rambling about skiing the wilds! On top of a fine deli and what looked to be pretty good pizza they also have a little bit of everything as is want of classic Vermont country stores. Their shelves are filled with various goods and wares often associated with traditional americana.

So, I settled for the best alternatives I could find, based on past experience and their current prices. But I really wanted something to satisfy a taste craving. And today, I found this popcorn. 'Cabot Creamery Seriously Sharp Cheddar Cheese Popcorn'. This packs amazingly strong cheedar flavor into popcorn. If you gave this to someone who's had Smartfood, or Wise White Cheddar, and asked them to compare them (I[ve had both of those) , it'd be a mind blowing experience for them. It's like the first time a Canada Dry ginger ale drinker tastes Schweppes for the first time. Or even better, a good ginger beer instead of ginger ale. It's just that muuch more real cheddar flvor. And BJ's sells a 15 oz. bag for 8 bucks, compared to the 4.5 oz. bags for around $4-$5 that other retailers carry for this brand, so it's a great value on price and quality. I'm not saying join Bjs to get it, but I am saying if you're a BJs member, this is popcorn you should try. If this popcorn had come out in 1985, Crocodile Dundee would have been the perfect spokesperson for it. "That's not popcorn. THIS is popcorn."

It's interesting to see how they make their triple cream and cream cheeses. The triple cream cheese is so ridiculously delicious. So so so good. Please eat it, wherever you can find it (they distribute their small batches to Boston, NYC, and Portland ME.) Yum.
