I've been with Grene Vision Group for over 10 years, but my recent experience has convinced me it's time to move on. After my longtime optometrist retired, I was assigned to a new doctor who rushed through my appointment and didn't seem interested in the vision concerns I tried to explain. The support staff was great, but the actual care felt impersonal and hurried. Then came the billing nightmare. Their phone system makes it impossible to reach a real person, so I had to go to the office in person to resolve an insurance filing mistake. That issue was supposedly fixed in February 2026, and I was told my account was fully paid. Yet in May 2026, I received another bill for $35. Whether this is ongoing disorganization or something more concerning, it's unacceptable. I can no longer trust Grene Vision Group with my care or my billing, and I won't be returning. read more

I contacted Green Vision's billing department for the sole purpose of paying the remaining balance from a period when I did not have insurance. At the beginning of the call, the representative appeared professional. However, during the conversation--despite there being no valid or documented obligation for the amount demanded--the representative attempted to charge my credit card $300, an amount that was not properly explained, itemized, or justified. After the representative disabled the recorded line, his conduct became unprofessional and inappropriate. When I requested his name for documentation purposes, he refused to provide it and stated that his name was "a secret." This refusal raises serious concerns regarding transparency, accountability, and compliance with standard billing, consumer-protection, and healthcare administrative practices. Based on this interaction, I have substantial concern that Green Vision's billing operations may be outsourced to a third-party entity. The representative's refusal to identify himself, coercive billing tactics, and unprofessional behavior are consistent with deceptive or improper collection practices. I felt pressured, harassed, and intimidated during this interaction. As a result of this experience, I no longer have confidence in Green Vision's ability to safeguard my personally identifiable information (PII) or financial data. I am deeply concerned that my information may have been mishandled, disclosed to unauthorized parties, or otherwise compromised. This situation has caused significant distress, and I now fear for my personal, financial, and credit security. I respectfully request a full review of this matter, written validation and itemization of any alleged balance, identification of any third-party billing vendors involved, and written assurance that my personal and financial information has not been compromised. read more

This place sucks. They screwed my friends eyes up with a bad cataract surgery. He can no longer hardly see because my eye continues to water. He basically has one eye that works now. The other eye stays closed all of the time. He has to use drops for the rest of his life. His cataract surgeries were done in November and December 2025, and they continue to sell him eye drops, telling everyone that it isn't the cataract surgery. He never had any type of issue like this until after his cataract surgery. Now, he has to use eye drops for the rest of his life because they screwed up his eyes. Also, he has to have his tear duct drained on and off, and that costs him about $300 each time they do that. Then, today, they are selling him a pair of glasses that will probably not fit or work. The glasses department is worse than the doctors are. Beware. Ask around. Grene Vision is probably the worst eye clinic within 50 states. read more

Cataract surgery should be scheduled at ambulatory surgery center and not Kansas Surgery and Recovery, an out patient hospital. The copay for the same surgery and the contracted payment is twice as much for this physician owned facility. The patient is only told by the scheduler that surgeries have to be scheduled at the 2 different facilities due to keeping options open for the doctor to be able to schedule. No one will call me back to discuss. read more

My office experience was terrible today at 8am.I stood in a line for a few minutes and was called over to a window by a lady,just as I walked up to the window she made a call to someone and was on the phone for several minutes.When she got off she was still distracted from the call and ask if I was Medicare,no I have Humana.she ask if I had been there before and I said not at this location.She started pulling out pieces of paper and I told here it should be in the computer some where,and I have a very hard time doing that and was told that they had to be filled out. Rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful and entitled can sum up her behavior and attitude during our visit. She is a paid professional, paid by her patients, and when I was there with an elderly parent and I bring up concerns and she replies for me to "be quiet" that is most unprofessional on her part. Who exactly are we to discuss our vision concerns with? Her staff was mostly, aside from one member, rude as well. My father has been waiting for over a month to get an appointment for eye surgery with Dr Dela Presa and his appointment girl China is rude and incompetent. Every time I call to see what the problem is I keep getting the runaround and told that they need medical clearance they have that they also have financial clearance! So what is the problem and no one will call me back and when I call them they tell me to leave a message and someone will call me back! Like many others, I will not conduct business with Grene Vision again. Three weeks and my glass are still not available. I have been told five times now that the order was shipped that day. The person answering the phone was very unprofessional and rude. I was transferred to someone named Lacey and she was very nasty. Lacey did call back shortly after our conversation ended. She said she called the lab and that the glasses were sent on this day and would arrive by the following Monday. Monday has come and gone and no glasses. I did receive a bill today. I have a receipt showing zero balance, yet now they are billing an additional 50% with no additional service. Billing department was not at all helpful. read more

I do not recommend this eye care group in Wichita. We have been patients for several years, and while the providers have been wonderful, the administration staff has been rude, discourteous, and neglectful. We arrived today for an appointment for my son, which was made over two months ago with their call center. There was no record in the system of an appointment made, or that his file had even been accessed. No apology or admittance of mistakes. The soonest they could reschedule us was another 2 months out. I have moved my son over to my own new eye care provider and they were able to get him in next week. What a difference in staff, kindness, and friendliness with our new provider office. After going to Grene Vision for the past 20 years finally made decisio to leave. Started about 2 years ago when I had an appointment scheduled with Dr Askew on Ridge Rd office. Day before appointment get a call and am told Dr Askew will be out of the office that day and I need to reschedule which I do for weeks later. Again day before appointment get the same call and have to reschedule again which I do, believe it or not for the 3rd time get a call to reschedule. At this point I decided to try a different Dr. so schedule an appointment at the Webb Rd office with Dr. Jittawait. Everything went great until 9 months later when we finally get a statement which we pay the balance due the following month we get another statement saying we owe that amount again on the field vision test which last month had a zero balance. Called accounting and they stated it's their 3rd party billing company making the errors. Needless to say we're leaving Grene Vision as it shouldn't take over 9 months to get a statement. read more

Unbelievable day. Got there for 12:40 appt and left the building at 6:20 p.m. I honestly thought my 99 yr old mom might either collapse or have a heart attack. Incredible lack of staff and of course doctors which I understand. But over scheduled to the point of elder abuse. Horrible grueling experience. Beautiful new two story building and then treat patients like less than cattle. I could tell the doc and staff were beside themselves and we left the building with about two staff members still there and no one else. Scary day. And so sad. Shame. I had cataract surgery in 2010 from green vision. 2023 my started having problems. I returned to green vision and was told by dr. Chaco that someone did a terrible job on my cataract surgery. Well i told him green vision did the surgery. I went the next day for more surgery. I remember waking up during the surgery. And was sedated more . Then the 24 hour checkup i had. They forgot to give me a prescription for drops. A couple weeks later i had to return as i was seeing something floating around in my eye. I returned and Dr.Chaco would only say to me . Well don't let me do surgery on you again. I said ok. But what about this thing in my eye. He said, he didn't see anything in my eye. And again, didn't let him do surgery on me again and that was it. Left me setting there . I called to complain and all they would say. Is. Well hes kinda like that sometimes. I had to get a referral to another eye doctor for a 2nd opinion. Once i got the referral and the other eye care center found out i was wanting a opinion on what had happened. They decided to not see me as they said it may be a conflict. So i am going to see another dr next week. Then off to the attorneys office. I would not recommend green vision or dr chaco. read more

I have to take an entire day off work to bring my mother to the eye doctor. You have to wait over an hour past your appointment time before being seen. Then wait several more hours before being seen by the doctor. They constantly over schedule. I don't dare schedule in afternoons anymore because one time they had overbooked so badly that we didn't get finished with her 2:00 appointment until 7:30 pm. read more

Well after my initial feedback/review whatever you opt to call it, like others before me, I received yesterday a gasp BILL, never mind when getting my prescription filled we PAID IN FULL, showing a ZERO, got it, ZERO balance. Bill on 1 portion in a line says patient owes ZERO and at bottom, patient owes 16.00. When I called about the bill, surprise surprise, she informed me that they have sent another bill for 14.00 ,while the amt owed is negligible it is the BS behind all of this, their practice of billing and billing a patient when patient PAID IN FULL before ever picking up prescription. Told the gal that maybe it was time for KAKE ON YOUR SIDE to do an INVESTIGATION on the practices of Grene Vision Group, sad when people say that before buyout, GVG was a good place and now look at it, hum, KAKE wonder what they might dig up. I also told the gal I would pay the 16.00 but any and all future bills, GV could just stuff them. Ok, maybe they will send for collection, will not pay them either, when it goes to court, will show judge amount owed ZERO before ever picking up my snort new glasses (I was NOT supposed to need) and the subsequent bills starting a month later. All of my family and friends and now likely their friends know exactly the experience I have had with GVG and yes, I am legally allowed to give negative feedback. read more

To add on to this review, I paid in full at my appointment (told I was paid in full). When I picked up my glasses, was told they overlooked a charge so I had to pay an additional fee. Then months later they sent me a bill for an additional charge (still have NO idea what it's for). Their business is run so poorly and don't feel these charges are legitimate. Watch out! read more

The absolute longest appointment day I have ever had. I took my 98 yr. old Mom to a 2:00 appointment. Didn't see the doctor until 5:30 p.m. and had to continue to wait to do more testing and get treatment. Checked out at 7:30 p.m. Mom was getting very tired, cold, thirsty, and hungry. They don't even have a water fountain there to get a drink of water. When I said something to the doctor about how long we had been there his reply was they scheduled 95 patients that day. When we had to schedule the next appointment I asked receptionist if it was going to take another 5 1/2 hours. She said he was gone the week before so had to get all those patients in. No one ever apologized for the lengthly appointment. The letter that was sent out said to allow 2-3 hours for appointment. Very frustrating. Not patient oriented when you schedule that many patients in a day. Making many people wait this long in a doctors' office is unacceptable. Grene was reputable and trustworthy before they got bought out, but now...caveat emptor. Their prices are crazy high, and the docs I've dealt with were sub-par at best. My Dad is nearly blind now partially because they tore his retina when they were removing a cataract; then they "couldn't find anything wrong", even though we knew something was, and kept going back. Finally we gave up and went elsewhere. The eye doc not associated with Grene found it immediately. They are straight up shady, and take advantage of the elderly. Don't recommend calling to set up an appointment, no one that I have talked to so far has known where their locations are and end up making me an appointment in the wrong part of town. Very frustrating to take the time off to go an appointment just to find out it was made on the other side of town even though you specified you live on the west side and would like to make an appointment at their Maize road location. My son had 1 new pair and a replacement lenses done. The new pair came back ok. The replacement lenses has the same prescription as the new pair. He wore the replacement when he got home and it was blurry. We took both pairs to our optometrist and he said the replacement pair has the lenses flipped around. We took them back to Green Vision and after checking, she said it's correct. Told her our optometrist said they are wrong. She said she doesn't know why. After further discussions, she switched the lenses around and my son can see clear. She didn't apologize or anything owning to the mistake. Made it seemed like it was our fault. I have been a patient of Grene Vision Group for several years. Recently I visited the office in Wichita at North Webb Road. I was a little concerned with their reviews but it was close to work so I thought I'd give it a try. My appointment was awesome, the front desk was friendly and Dr Carson was great. I was in and out in record time. However, it didn't take long to experience the same poor customer service talked about in the reviews. I recently attempted to purchase a simple bottle of lens cleaner and was told my wait to do so would be 20 minutes! Unbelievable. Not being sure if their management was aware of what patients are being told with regards to a simple lens cleaner purchase, I called and asked to speak to Management. I had to leave a message, Oscar did return my call and unfortunately I was unable to take his call. I called him back, no response. The following day I called again. After giving the person answering the phone my name, she came back and said he was unavailable. I left another message, no response. Unfortunately, the terrible customer service I received will out weigh the good service I received during my scheduled appointment. It's clear from other reviews, they have a problem in this area. This place is terrible. First they implement a new patient check-in system. Making the patient do all the secretarial work, which the secretaries are being paid to do. On top of that, I show up for my appointment today and was told there was a scheduling error on the doctors part so he could not see me. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, as I took time off of work for this appointment, and they gave me the shaft and acted like my time was not valuable. Even after this whole experience, they would not let me order new contact lenses, because my "prescription" was expired. Trouble customer service! They are rude to their patients! They have gotten too big to care.

I had them make lenses for sunglasses. Once I got them back they were obviously not right. One lens was green and the other much darker. Went back 4 times before they agreed to return them and have it corrected. All anyone had to do is hold up to the light and it was obvious. I am waiting to see if they come back correct and my second pair is on hold. No one should have to go thru that. If I can get the two pair I and my insurance provider paid for I may revise this. Otherwise I will be contacting insurance provider and credit card company. read more

Their eye glass selection is very poor. They have a very little selection for men. My parents called ahead to make sure they didn't need an appointment to look at glasses. They drove to town and were told that they had to have an appointment and could not touch any of the frames. read more

Poorest run optical department I have ever worked with. Had my glasses new on 6/21 and by 2/22 the protective coating was deteriorating so I called Webb Rd. office where I purchased them and asked them what I need to do. After attempting 3 times I finally talked to someone in optical who told me to come in and they would check them out. Well I am 1000 miles away so I had to ship them the end of February at my cost, (the glasses were warranted for I year), as of today I have only heard from Oscar 1 time and he said that the glasses were covered but he would have to ship them to the manufacturer and that's the last I heard since then. I have put in 4 calls by leaving messages for Oscar to call me but to no avail. Currently I am wearing 3 year old glasses that are an old script but this was my only option. I am tired of trying to track a 400.00 pair of glasses which should be Greene Visions groups' responsibility and not mine. Getting someone to call back is non existent. The vision exam is thorough. The experience of purchasing eyewear has been difficult. I purchased new lenses to go into my existing frames. When the optician was putting the new lenses into the frames she broke them, but did not acknowledge this. 2 more visits for adjustments with no success. On my 3rd visit I asked a mgr. to assist me in obtaining new frames. The mgr accommodated me in ordering a replacement at their expense. Once the lenses were in the frames it was still difficult to focus. 2 more visits for adjustments before the optician remeasured the pupillary distance. It turns out they had mismeasured and I had the wrong lenses. #$@! Reorder for the correct lenses. I picked up the new lenses and they are much improved. Unfortunately, still unable to locate an optician who can adjust the frames correctly. So disappointed in this 7 week journey! read more
