I have been frequenting this business for the last 7 months. The massage therapists are all friendly and I've enjoyed every service. However, today upon finishing my massage and waiting to pay, I overheard the receptionist make an incredibly racist comment to a man at the front desk. And I quote, "if you're looking for a rub n tug, Google any Asian massage parlor nearby". I understand being frustrated with a creepy customer- but that comment was far out of line. I quietly paid for my service. When the receptionist handed me my card, I told her just how unacceptable and inappropriate that comment was. I am very disappointed and won't be returning. Terrible customer service. Called and requested an appointment the day of and got scheduled, but the woman on the phone sounded like she had a cold and was coughing, so I tried canceling because I didn't want to be around a sick employee. I think her name was Tiffany? She told me I couldn't cancel because it was within their 24 hr cancelation policy and that I would have to pay for a massage I didn't go to. When I told her I wasn't willing to give her my credit card information over the phone she told me I would never be allowed back to any reason. Very dramatic and rude. Unsatisfying experience. I requested a deep tissue massage with emphasis on my back. The pressure was weak, even when I asked again, and way too much time was spent in my short hour working on my hands and arms which didn't need help. Every time I have been there, there are different therapists who rarely provide me with what I need, and when I do find someone I like they are gone before I am able to return. Their appointment system is pretty clean and clear! You just have to find the time to get in! And honestly that was the hardest part... after that it was smooth sailing! I booked my appointment with Trina on a Saturday morning! I walked in and was met with a calming waiting area as well as a wonderful smile by the individual working the front desk! I've been here half a dozen times and am usually satisfied. This time, however, my massage therapist was sick and kept coughing and sniffling during my time in the room. Also, when I asked which muscles showed the most tension, he couldn't name a single one. He just said "your back and neck". As someone who knows a bit about a massage therapy education and licensing, I know what an emphasis they put on knowing the names of the muscles, along with their origins and insertions. He couldn't name ONE unless, he said, he went back and paid more attention. (I asked this question just as he finished, not days later!) I was super disappointed. When I called the front desk to report it, I didn't even get an apology of any kind. I was just told they would look into it and address it. I should have been offered an apology and either comped or a discount or something. Have already chosen a new place to go but I sure am sad. read more

Depends on which massage therapist you get... Due to chronic muscle pain, I need a massage to be pretty hard. Some massage therapists have the intuition and skill to do this well without hurting you. Some just leave you worse than before. My recommendation: Ask for Shannon. Definitely don't get an appointment with Lisa. I've had them both multiple times and will only book with Shannon from now on. read more

Easy to make an appointment! Always able to get in right away! Prices are very reasonable! Been coming here for couple years now and every therapist has been very professional and helpful!! My last visit, I had a painful and stiff shoulder, neck, and arm due to repetitive computer work. Didn't want to go to a physical therapist so tried the massage first. Had Davis for an hour. What a miracle!! He knew where and what needed to be focused on with just the right amount of pressure! Made sure I was comfortable and in no pain. My husband and I have been going here once a month for about a year. We arrive together and have enjoyed our massages. The last time we tried to get a massage, we showed up and were informed that the owner had canceled my husband's massage because they couldn't confirm his appointment. We were dumbfounded and the receptionist even went to the back with her cell phone to find out why the owner had canceled his appointment. Over all I like Gresham Therapeutic Massage Center in Gresham, OR, on NW Fairview Drive (Eastman) and Burnside. A group of about 18 practitioners offer various types of massage therapies, open 7 days a week. A core group seems to be settled there, and as with anywhere else there seems to be a small to modest amount of turnover. About half the time if I call in the am I can get same day appointment, if not, usually I'm set for the next day. Apparently all are licensed, according to spot check of the business cards each seem to have. While longer sessions are available, I've been happy with the hour long appointments (about 50 minutes of hands-on therapy). The business and setting looks professional, seems well managed. Environment is clean, uncluttered, with good temperature control, quiet rooms with minimal air vent buzz and rare-to-no voice carryover from a next room. Hourly rates went up some months ago to $60. However, a longtime attraction is their practice of offering each first time session with each new-to-you therapist for $40. Easy on the budget to get acquainted, I experienced each therapist as competent, and I found a couple favorites I've requested to have work on me since. Over all they keep the conversation light, encouraging, taking their cue from me, or even minimal when I'm not feeling so verbose. My wife received a call from the owner evening before (4pm) to cancel appointment because we were misinformed about their deposit policy. The way I see it, that's their concern not ours. I went to this specific place for a massage for my 2nd time.This time I went with a different LMT.Supposedly, when you try a different LMT they give you a better price rather than paying more to see the same one, therefore,I went with a different one.The one I had on Friday, DEC 18 was named CHANDLER ORTON.1st off, before I scheduled,I looked on the website to find a picture of him/bio,and there wasn't.I assumed he was new and they hadn't put a picture of him up there yet.I scheduled anyways because it was only appt.they had left for that day.When he called my name, judging by presentation of looks,he was not dressed professionally.He wore a baggy shirt and baggy pants, was slouching,hair was not cut neat as it was hanging over his brow and ears,which I'm fine with, but just overall was not something I was expecting.I thought to myself though,"They wouldn't hire him if he wasn't good".He took me to the room & asked if there was a specific place that needed to be working on,& I said mostly my neck/shoulders,& back area, because I think I slept wrong the night before.He proceeded to comply with what I said & said,"OK, we'll help that & make it fun at the same time hopefully."He left the room and I undressed leaving my panties on, everything else was off. He came in the room and started massaging, asking if pressure was OK and what not-which is totally fine and normal.He started massaging lower and then undraped half of my body,which of course only one of my glutes was showing-again,totally fine and normal,because I understand that a spine goes all the way down about half way to the glute.He started massaging my glute and then proceeded to say" Wow, this is the first glute that Ive worked with thats not tight"-at first I was a little confused,and was not too weirded out,so I said," I know, I am trying to tone it up a bit so that's its firmer".He proceeded to say,"No, in other words, what I'm trying to say is that your a** is perfect and if its also not weird to say, it looks great looking one too".First flag went up for me,I didn't know what to else say but thanks and that's it.I was too uncomfortable to say anything else,what was I supposed to say?He proceeded on to massage both sides and kept asking me how things felt,each new area he went to he was ask,"How does this feel?" And each time I would respond with,"Fine, or Good".After he was done massaging the back, which seemed really short,he told me to turn over and face up,so I proceeded to do so,drape covering me and all,and then he udraped my leg and started massaging from the top of my thigh hitting pressure points and going all the way down,which i have had LMT's do before.All fine, but then he started lifting my leg up really high and stretching it and than bending it towards me and then bending it outwards-which definitely made me uncomfortable.I noticed he kept look down toward my lady area as he was bending in each direction.And when he was bending it out towards the side,he asked if I could do the splits,I said"I couldn't"and he said"I bet you probably can now though,look how far your leg can bend",and I said" Yeah maybe".I was feeling so uncomfortable and scared I was just wanting to talk to him as little as possible.He did it on both legs as described above-so uncomfortable.He then asked me if I had a hard time breathing sometimes,and I said," Sometimes if I'm working out,but I dont know if that is normal or not",he proceeded to tell me a story of how he had this lady once that "had a hard time breathing and I helped her by massaging her chest.And because the drape was getting in the way of me feeling the small bones that needed to be massaged,she told me to remove the drape and not speak of it,so I did and her boobs were just huge and flopping everywhere! "I faked a small laugh under my breath and said "That's funny".I was surprised he told me that cause I didnt know LMT's can do that as far as the breast thing. So then he proceeded to ask me,"Im not supposed to do this, but it would really help your breathing, can I remove the drape & just add a small breast drape?",I replied with a nod & so he did so and started massaging my sternum area and the outside of my nipples.He kept sort of making a "sighing"noise & then asked if he could remove the drape because it was be easier to see and feel the bones,and I replied with a nod.*Side note, let me just make you aware of how I am.If I feel really uncomfortable about something with someone I DONT KNOW,I tend to be quiet and not speak up because I am too afraid to say anything unless if you were physically HURTING me*He then started massaging my whole stomach AND MY ENTIRE BREASTS.He then asked me if I was getting"turned on",& IMMEDIATELY replied with,"NO, yeah right!"& HE laughed it off.He kept massaging my entire upper body finished 15min past 60min-which is NOT NORMAL& thanked me for coming in as I was a "beautiful woman to work with".I quickly dressed & LEFT! I've had two wonderful massages here by women who left due to stickler management. I experienced the unpleasant owner firsthand after sending my sister there as a gift. She was horribly treated and promptly left without service. Her massage therapist who only got to greet her sympathized and agreed that the treatment was unprofessional and said that the front desk person was the owner's mom. When I called to have management credit the funds back to my account, the owner didn't even ask why our experience was negative and she clearly didn't care. Family businesses are usually better, if you choose to give them a shot, be sure to get direct contact information of the LMT in case they jump ship soon after. read more
