My first issue with Mr. Cox was when he filed my case in the wrong jurisdiction, which delayed my case for about six months. The sad thing is, I even contacted him via telephone and asked him whether it was the right jurisdiction, and he insisted that he was correct, therefore delaying my case. My second issue was that once he found out that he had filed my case in the wrong jurisdiction, I did not hear from him until a year later. I eventually understood that he did not know what he was doing. Accordingly, I fired Mr. Cox for his lack of experience in immigration law. Just because someone reads about immigration law and gives lectures on it, it does not mean that they are able to practice immigration law. As an attorney myself, I was really ashamed at what had happened to me. But I should have known this because when I first came to his office, he was in an altercation with another client because he did not properly represent his client in court. I ended up firing Mr. Cox and Mr. Cox ended up keeping all of my money. Sadly, I had made a payment of over $3000 on my credit card, of which my husband and I did not have any money at the time. He is the biggest regret and has made my immigration case so much more difficult. I will be filing a complaint against Mr. Cox.
