Given the amount of money we had to fund raise over the course of four years to pay for these buses it would have been nice to have polite and helpful customer service, fully functional buses, and drivers that were informed and fully aware of traffic laws! $12,350 for two buses, less than 450 miles round trip. -Lacey Rivera is unbelievably RUDE. Had the booking been for personal and not professional purposes, I would've told her to cancel our reservation the first time she had an attitude about answering basic questions. Customers booking buses are not necessarily aware of the bus laws or requirements for bus drivers however, the staff should be aware of these laws and should assume that they need to inform customers of any pertinent information when booking a trip. We booked our trip in May 2024, a year ahead of time and I was not made aware until November about the requirements for bus drivers and the laws that would affect our trip. Ultimately, our students would either be stranded for over an hour prior to the event or over an hour after the event, rebooking with another bus company would have increased the price exponentially. I had to request information from Lacey repeatedly before receiving answers to basic but important questions. Unable to continue waiting for information from Lacey I called the office and spoke with Victoria, who was extremely helpful. I then noticed a hostile change in Lacey's behavior as though she was offended that I asked somebody else for information when it was her account to handle. Victoria Jones was extremely helpful and polite every time we had an interaction but dealing with Lacey after that was unpleasant. -Overall, my students made it to their destination and back safely however some of the feedback I received from students, school employees, and parent chaperones was concerning. One of our buses had some pretty serious damage to the passenger side of the bus upon arrival. Students reported that when returning in the wee hours of the morning, one of the bus drivers was running the lights and stop signs. One chaperone specifically reported a near accident that was definitely the fault of the driver. One of our buses had electrical issues and had to pull over at one point. The other bus did not have air-conditioning, which is an unfortunate thing during a heat wave on the last couple days of May. For $12,350?? Bus drivers were friendly and polite! However, some of the information that had been provided to the bus company was not provided to the drivers so they were uninformed about some key aspects of the trip. -Our high school had to pay $12,350 for two buses to travel less than 450 miles. I think a breakdown of cost should be provided to the customers as this is an overwhelming amount of money for students at a public school to be expected to come up with. It seems companies intentionally rip off schools at this time of year to maximize their profits and have zero interest in supporting students and communities. Given the amount of money we had to fund raise over the course of four years to pay for these buses it would have been nice to have polite and helpful customer service, fully functional buses, and drivers that were informed and fully aware of traffic laws!

Booking by phone was fast and the operator was helpful and informed. She did not know why I was having trouble booking online. She said you could eat/drink in the vehicle but to not leave a mess. Total cost for roundtrip transport for my situation was just under $180. On the day/time of my transport, I parked my car in the general airport parking lot (free). I had to fill out some paperwork because my car was going to be there for more than 2 weeks. Shuttle was ready at the scheduled time. We made stops in Buellton and a rest break in Ventura. Driver was good but spoke very little English. A/C was functioning properly as it was hot outside. There is no form of entertainment (TVs), outlets to charge your electronic devices (phone), or WiFi. This is definitely a good service for the cost.

It's not much to look at, but it is not the Santa Maria Greyhound bus station at East Boone Street, which closed maybe permanently, and they relocated to the Santa Maria Transit Center starting in 2016, and that's where this is. Yesterday, 8/6/2016, I had set up a ticket to take me from Santa Maria, Ca to Dickinson, ND. What we were told, since I had to have a friend purchase the ticket for me, being broke, was that all I required was the confirmation number and the password in case. I was ensured by Greyhound staff, that not having the physical ticket wasn't a problem. The bus that comes to pick me up at 7AM, not only was not a Greyhound Bus, but they also had no way of taking my number. Thankfully, that employee was a kind man and he allowed me to figure things out. Apparently, this isn't the first time it's happened. On this bus, and the website says, free wifi, power outlets and plenty of leg space. I only had wifi. They largely over exaggerated the leg space. It's no more than a standard bus seating arrangement and the wifi constantly blacked out and would not let me access Youtube. Upon troubleshooting, come to find out, Youtube was being purposefully blocked by their routers. I don't know why and it's a small thing inevitably, but this isn't where it ends. I go to my first transfer in Hanford and yet another bus of the same type is there to pick me up. She was brought up to speed on my issue already, so she already knew what to do. I had to go to Visalia, which was on the route anyway, to get a ticket printed and tags for my luggage. So fine, we get it done, it's good, no worries right? Wrong! The very next stop, we were given a lunch break and she said 30 minutes. That was enough time for me to track down lunch, only to see her leaving 10 MINUTES EARLY! As I friggin got back to the station, I see her pulling out. I then spent the next ten to fifteen minutes talking with a manager, who managed to get her to turn around. The woman then proceeded to treat me with disrespect and contempt, reminding me at each break of what I supposedly did to offend her. That pissed me off and because of it, I have been leery of leaving the bus ever since, unless food was literally right next to the buses. I then spent the next ten or so hours on hard iron, bloody benches at a layoff drop in Las Vegas. It was not comfortable, people and their luggage was cramped and the people there did not speak nearly loud enough or clearly enough to give proper direction. Several people including myself had to ask repeated times on our directions so we didn't screw up. When it finally came down to transfer, I finally get on an ACTUAL Greyhound bus and it was, admittedly, a nice improvement overall. The promised power outlets were on each seat and the wifi, of which I am currently using in the last leg of my trip. It was better, but for some reason Youtube was still blocked and I cant find a reason why. Regardless though... I can understand if this was some cheap transportation system from town to town, no more than maybe $100 total. But the tickets are expensive, especially for what I needed. My friend ended up purchasing the most expensive ticket because of the priority boarding (which didnt matter for most of my trip) and the two free bags. In short, the money was not worth it. The accommodations are not comfortable, the layaway times in my mind are simply preposterous and in the future, I'm gonna do my best to fly instead of using the Greyhound. My trip is supposed to 64 hours, but it is more than likely going to be around 70. I would rather toss the extra hundred dollars and fly to my destination, in comfort, under 8-9 hours. I wholly recommend against Greyhound unless you have no better option.

I was caught in…read moretraffic during my drive down from Lompoc, CA, and the driver, passengers, and staff were very helpful in making sure I was accommodated. I left my car at the Goleta terminal, as I have done in the past. As a side note, I also wanted to ask whether there is still a discount for customers who drive down from Lompoc, since doing so saves Santa Barbara Airbus fuel, time, and labor. Either way, while the departure from Goleta was hectic, it was ultimately successful, and I appreciated the assistance. Unfortunately, my return experience was not as positive. When I arrived back in Goleta, I noticed that my car was not parked in the front lot, where it has always been in the past. I asked the driver if he could help me get my car and my keys. He had already unloaded my luggage and was seated back in the driver's seat. When I asked for assistance, he casually shrugged his shoulders and appeared unconcerned. At that point, it was after 10:00 PM. Although we had arrived about 35 minutes early, I was standing in the parking lot with my luggage and no clear direction about where my car was or how I was supposed to retrieve it. I finally had to ask the driver if he was simply going to leave me and my luggage there and drive away. Only then did he ask me for my name and phone number again, make a call, and begin looking for a solution. After about 15 minutes, a very kind young lady came to assist me. She explained that she was "on call" that evening, confirmed my name, showed me to my car, and pleasantly helped me continue on my way back to Lompoc. I truly appreciated her professionalism and kindness. However, I did pay for parking. Only the first five days were free, and I was charged for two additional days based on my return date. Someone forgot to move my car to the front parking area and failed to inform the driver about my keys. That oversight placed the driver in an awkward position, required another staff member to come assist me after hours, and delayed my trip home after a long day of travel. Santa Barbara Airbus is better than this. Extending a 17-hour travel day because of a preventable communication failure is not the level of service I have come to expect. I hope this matter can be reviewed so that future passengers are not left in the same situation.
