Everything!!! The service is terrible, there is actually no customer service!! They don't even load your bags onto the bus anymore!! You just put them in all Willy-Nilly and anyone can grab your bag without being noticed!!! They have lots of cancellations!!! I just attempted to travel from the west coast to the east coast on Greyhound because I had too many bags to fly!! I got stuck halfway to my destination because they cancelled one of my connecting buses!! I ended up having to fly anyways and am out the $274 because they don't give refunds even though their service sucks!!! read more

Not an actual customer, but this past Saturday night my family and I had the displeasure of have to wait on an Uber in the Greyhound parking lot after a concert. We were on the sidewalk on the far edge of the parking lot minding our on business and a women employee comes out yelling at us to stay in the grass or on the sidewalk and out of her parking lot. Now the grass is littered with glass liquor bottles and various other thrash items so we really can't stand in the grass, but we were all on the sidewalk. My young son needed to use the restroom so my husband walked him over to the station and she told him there was no public restroom there. The employee was a rude nasty human. read more

We had a 9am ride from Charlotte to Atlanta and arrived at 8:50am for the driver to have the door closed and even before he opened it started shouting at us for not being there 20 minutes earlier. He was totally rude and unprofessional even when we tried to apologize he went off on us, wouldn't let us finish talking; yelled at us that there was no apology that'd be acceptable. I could not believe what was going on. Completely out of line! Missed our last connecting flight from CLT to RDU. No one-way rental vehicles available at that hour. Amtrak departure time didn't work for us. So Greyhound was our last resort. This place is GROSS! The station stinks. The floors are damaged and filthy. We had to wait here for 3 very uncomfortable hours. The bus was about 30 min late. The seats on the bus were small and the bus wasn't clean. I couldn't wait to wash the whole experience off of me. I used to take Greyhounds years ago while in college when the stations and busses were clean and comfortable. I did not expect such a decline. I was shocked actually. The picture isn't picking up the true grittiness of this place and it was taken before it filled up with people, but just trust me. This is the worst experience I've had with bus lines., They were late from the departure in NYC to service to Charlotte NC, the drivers were very rude & unprofessional. I recommend that they revamp the whole staff & Take classes on ethics and timing. Greyhound was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. I have never ride the bus before and figured it wouldn't be bad, but this was awful. I was scheduled to leave Charlotte to Norfolk. Half way to Norfolk we stopped in Raleigh where I was informed that my bus was canceled by a random man holding the door with no greyhound signs or badge. I walked in to the establishment and they confirmed that the bus was canceled. The next bus wasn't scheduled to leave out until the following day at 5am. Eager to get to my meeting, I asked if there were other options, and was informed that they didn't have any additional options but would need to hop back on the bus and get dropped off in Richmond which is 2 hours from where I was scheduled to be. Nonetheless I got on the bus to Richmond, and began contacting customer service. I was advised that they don't have a customer service number and that I would need to email in. I did that, and the response I received was just as awful as the service. Because of my prior experience, I made other arrangements to get where I needed to go, missing out on hundreds of dollars. On my return trip I was informed that the bus would be late yet again, I arrived that the station at 10:10, but was informed at 12:00 that the bus was still running late. There was another bus that I asked if I could join so I could get to charlotte sooner, and was informed that wasn't possible. This by far was the worst experience I have ever been in. I will let everyone know to never ride greyhound ever! All to not receive a phone call or a refund. read more

This place is HORRIBLE. I personally would've never stepped foot into this place as I'm not a fan of bus transportation, I'm all about the WHEELS UP (airplane). I have family who opted to take the bus to visit which lead me to this place for either a pick up or a drop off or both. I've even had to go inside (WoWZers) to wait with the passenger(s) in certain instances. The process is very disorganized and the customer service is at an ALL TIME LOW. The people employed act as if the paying customers owe them something when in all actuality they customers are the reason they are employed. The seating is old and unclean and the floors look as if they haven't had a CLEAN mop over them in years. It also reeks of a unpleasant scent. It's unfortunate that this is one of the venues that is available for affordable transit in Charlotte. I hope they get a facelift soon. read more

A very very scary place! Listen, I have travelled and lived all over the east coast including Philadelphia and New York. But my first time in Charlotte station, words can't express. Its not only a dump but this is one of the worst, most depressing places I have ever been. There's homeless people sleeping on the floor in the station. Junkies walking around like looking like zombies. The place smells of weed, garbage and filth. Also I learned that apparently this is one of the places where they release prisoners who are getting out of jail. Overhead a conversation from a guy and lady who had been dumped there given a ticket and trying to get home. Bathrooms are so filthy I'm holding my bladder and praying that it doesn't burst. , It's only 2pm on a Friday but I can't imagine what this place is going to be like after dark. To put it bluntly, I'm Waiting on a ride right now but if it doesn't come soon, I'm considering getting back on the bus and going back home. Please be careful if you travel here. read more

A few days ago, My nephew left Charlotte Wednesday for Newark and should have arrived in 10 hours! 30, YES! 30 HOURS LATER AND he had only made it to Philadelphia and was told by the Greyhound employee the next bus to Newark would leave in 4 hours.  When the bus arrived the driver informed them it would NOT make a stop in Newark, only NYC! There was no bus to Newark!!  Greyhound just flat out lied about it! So instead of an hour trip to Newark from Philadelphia, he went to NYC and then found his own way back to Newark via other transportation.  In total, this 10 hour bus ride was 42 HOURS!  42 HOURS!!  Greyhound offered no lodging or food assistance along the way, and NO REFUND!!  What Greyhound did send him was a voucher for $26.79 to use on a future booking!  Seriously!  This is a horrible company! I will continue to post this constantly on social media and get as many people I know to also blast it! I will NEVER go greyhound again! What a horrible company! read more

Was skeptical about this one because of all the reviews but it seems within the last year they fixed some things. Can't say much for the workers since I'm just passing through but the bathrooms are decently clean and actually have trash cans unlike some stations plus you don't have to touch them. I don't know about all these homeless people and whatnot but as far as I can see the personnel got the inside cleared for only riders. Let me start by saying it's a bus station. Automatically means dim lighting, strange smells, and the dank air of dying souls. But that aside, I felt safe here. It's a small station, but the bathrooms are fairly clean, and although I got there as the bus was pulling in, they got me checked in and on my way. Because who wants to spend any more time there than absolutely necessary? But I do have a tip: if seats are at a premium (which they always are for late arrivers like me), always pick the black muslim guy with the kufi reading the Koran. They generally are the most courteous and least likely to try to feel you up if you fall asleep, which you must do when riding the Hound, for your own sanity. read more

Bus 1590 (86665) has no AC!! My friend is 7months pregnant, and is going into contractions cause of the heat! We have told the bus drive (Andy) and the workers at the greyhound station all of that and they would turn their head like it's nothing. This is the fucking worst ride in our life.. Called customer service and they keep hanging up on us, then we called back, asked for the manager and all we get is a laugh in our faces. Plus there are babies and kids on this bus with no AC!!!! Don't go greyhound especially Charlotte North Carolina and Atlanta location's they're terrible!!!! The staff at both locations where the hell did they find them. In Atlanta the facility was dirty as hell as well as Charlotte North Carolina. Then upon arrival they knew that they didn't have a driver but the fuckers refused to say anything. I should have been at my destination by 3:05am but I'm still sitting in Charlotte. They gave us a sorry meal voucher for 7.50 and they two bad attitude having women in the café Tanya and the one with the terrible blond wig had attitudes and wanted to serve us old food. That's not how you treat people. If you can help it find another option because greyhound is such a let down. I think this is the first and the last time I'll use greyhound for transportation. If you decide to travel with this bus line, don't even bother purchasing "Priority Boarding" they charge extra for that, they don't recognize it. You will get in the bus whenever you can. You would've thought they will call for priority boarding first, but sorry, what is that? They call everyone to go to the gate of departure and don't even have the courtesy to call priority first after they charge you for it. When they call everybody to approach the departing gate, if you are last on the line, you are screw, you will see by the end of the bus probably on the worse seats, like I did with my 12 years old daughter. So, my suggestion if you still want to travel this way, purchase the cheapest seat. It won't make any difference compare to the most expensive ticket. read more

Oh greyhound, how you suck my soul ever so slowly like a dementor. As bus stations go this one is pretty neat, tidy and clean. There aren't a lot of seating available so feel free to use your luggage as a couch as I was doing at one point. Customer service here is pleasant and courteous. The only issue I ever have with greyhound is their lack of communication to the customers when there's a delay. Look, I get that I was travelling in the middle of a snow storm because the arctic decided that America was more fun to hang out with than the North Pole - I get delays happen. But what I don't get is why no one is forthcoming on what's going on in the stations. However I gave you 2 stars because the new buses are pretty swish. I do love the plug in charger options for phones and the free wifi. If only the free wifi worked more than it didn't. read more

Bused my Dad up from Augusta to Charlotte. Really no competition here so we were at their mercy. My Dad said he had a good trip and that they were nice to him as he needs handicap assistance. Station is relatively clean for a bus station. It IS confusing in there and it's not exactly obvious which line to stand in so that you catch the right bus. And you can't track where the bus is using a smartphone or computer. But it was affordable but the schedule was somewhat inconvenient. He made it here and back safely so i guess that is what ultimately matters. read more

So I only have been in this place once to pick up a friend that is still part of the unemployed 99%. The lighting in here is what throws me off. The place is simple and has all the characteristics of a bus station. Taxi cabs do wait out side but not all the time and it isn't in the place place to go walking around in the dark. It is a bit far to walk into the city...particularly with a lot of luggage. Buses run at just about all hours. I have used Greyhound twice, once from Washington DC to Kitchener, Canada.....and another time from NJ to Washington DC (this time, only because I could not find another bus). Both were horrible! The staff....!!! The staff must be underpaid or something because they are a bunch of angry people. The buses are ok....their stations for layover are dirty, smelly, and not well kept. Danger of Greyhound: My daughter is a freshman at University of Southern California. She just turned 18 and was excited about attending Coachella. Given that she made straight As and Dean's List last semester and loves music, I said yes. She had a great time at the festival, but of course she wanted to stay to see the last performer.  So she came up with taking a 2:00 am Greyhound Bus back to Los Angeles in order not to miss her morning classes. Greyhound does not typically have a 2 am bus, but it was added for the participants of your venue. The issue is that they consciously sold tickets to students knowing that they did not have a bus driver for the route, leaving 30 plus students (mainly girls) stranded in the middle of nowhere. The students panicked and were calling Lyft and Uber to get them back to their respective hotels they may have stayed at it or to meet up with friends who were staying until Monday. It was chaos. I instructed my daughter to pay attention to the driver and license plate number of the car she called and to warn other desperate teen girls to do the same. Luckily, everyone survived this incident.  Hopefully next week's Coachella's patrons will share the same fate. Greyhound has a 2:00 am bus schedule with non-refundable tickets which will likely not have a driver. Please do not depend on Greyhound. It is not a reliable means of transportation and they deliberately put their customers at risk just for the sake of a dollar. Bad business, bad business model, not customer-friendly. 0 stars if I could! TANESHIA AT THE FRONT COUNTER SHOULD BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY! This is the most UNPROFESSIONAL, UNORGANIZED, POORLY RAN facility in greyhound history! They took my boyfriends bags off the bottom of the bus in Charlotte, NC because "he needed a new tag" BUT NEVER EVEN ATTEMPTED to call his name over the intercom-STRIKE 1. We had an hour layover so there's no way this should've happened without some sort of communication on their part! We make it all the way to Greensboro, offload the bus an notice that there's no bags, like wtf!!? He thought there was a mix up with someone else's luggage, but it wasn't & the bus driver acted completely clueless! So he calls the Charlotte station and talks to Taneshia who confirms the bag is there. When we complains of his frustrations she replies "so what do you want me to do?"-STRIKE 2! So, after working a full shift, we drive back down to Charlotte from Greensboro to get his bags. When he entered, there was about 4 other people who said they'd been waiting on service for over 20 minutes & security didn't even bother to let them know that PAYING CUSTOMERS had been waiting. So after another 15 minutes pass with ZERO service, we began saying HELLOOOOOO just to get someone's attention because we can hear someone in the back laughing and talking. So here comes Taneshia again mad at us because we're frustrated with being ignored! She's again, no help at all telling us "ain't no body about to help y'all doing all that!" My boyfriend says "I just want my bag!" Her response was so nasty and disgusting & then she has the nerve to ignore his request, and put a "counter closed for 15 minutes" sign out!! Who treats paying customers like this!? Especially for such a great inconvenience like ours! She needs to be fired immediately! read more

The Charlotte Greyhound station on Trade hosts the Sunway Charter bus that goes between CLT and Appalachain State. My son is a freshman and had to take this bus back to school tonight. With all the construction going on around this place, it was difficult to know where to turn in. I saw his Sunway bus (it was the only one on lot at 5:45pm on Sunday night) so I pulled in behind to unload his things, drop him, and go. There were no other cars or buses in the entire lot, just the bus he ticketed on which was leaving at 6pm. My son started approaching the bus with ticket and things in hand, when a Groundhound employee came running out of the facility SCREAMING, practically jumping up and down in anger at me for parking behind the bus. I tried to apologize and say I would move car, where do i go, etc. but he had NO Interest in that. It was very obvious he was trying to cause a big scene or scare me or something, because i've never seen anything like it in my 51 years. I couldn't even understand what he was screaming he was so angry. I finally said, "Sir, you need to CALM DOWN!" which only angered him further. He continued repeating his rant, so I started to get into my car and move it before this man gave himself a stroke. Then he came running over there and said no not to move it. ? Started yelling again telling us "just get your stuff and go, go GO!!!"like he was a military drill sergeant. He was absolutely crazy. I certainly intend to take this further with corporate, but I tell you if it ever happens again I will be filming and it will not end with just a complaint. I thought about calling the police, but really wanted to just get my son on the bus and not delay for everyone. I cannot believe Greyhound lets this man represent their company and have never had any run ins with the police or violence the way he behaved. I purchased a ticket last night in Charlotte NC. After receiving my cash dn printing my ticket the atte dant told me that the bus was delayed by 7 hours or so. I asked him why did he not tell me this when I purchased my ticket. He was very rude and gave me a 800 number to call to request my refund. My ticket was 207.50. I was told ticket was not transferable and that no refund would be issued. I purchased the ticket for my 15 year old son. When call customer service I was told they had to speak to my minor son, and that it was illegal for him to travel alone more than 6 hours. I explained to them that I was never told the guidelines and was never even asked for identification. So now I'm out of 207.50 and still no resolution. I work for a fortune 500 company and we never let our guest leave unpleased. I guess for now on I'll pay for the Chinese bus. They are cleaner cheaper and get you to your destination faster. I will forever boycott Greyhound. And I will spread the word thru out my company read more

Can't complain much about this station. I'm here for a 50 minute layover and the place seems clean, bearable lighting, plenty of vending machines and only about six gates. There is a restaurant here but I guess since it's 11pm right now, it's closed. Consider bringing food of your own if you have a layover here. read more

So yeah, pretty much what everyone has said so far! Our family travled from Connecticut to visit family in Georgia. We have had a total of four bus drivers and only two were by far the only drivers who cared and had somewhat of customer service. Yes it's true greyhound really needs to train their employees higher customer satisfaction. What ever happened to the customer is always right!?. This station lacked in communication in every way possible! One employee telling us this and the driver saying that. Ugh unreal and frustrated to the tee!. I would give more stars but at this point it is what it is. People need to know what they are getting into. We decided to try something different and not rent a car this year. We didn't take a plane or train because again we wanted a different option and more economical. If you don't care about lack of communication and your ok with employees who don't apologize for any mistakes on their part then by all means take the Greyhound bus. Highlight of this trip were friendly people who helped each other along the way. Due to the fact that when you asked a greyhound employee they got upset when you asked a question. Your kidding right? Isn't that your JOB?! Please if you hate your job please quit or find something else that makes you happy. It's a bad rap for people going on vacation of any sort. Then left with this impression.
