Long Beach is the big city but it's also really just a big suburb of Los Angeles, although the residents of LB maybe wouldn't be happy to hear me say that. Its Greyhound terminal is very understated, it feels suburban rather than major, and it's just a small building with not too much going on. It's mainly a bus station for the regional services, so that's why it doesn't have too many facilities and isn't too large. Most people just come into the main downtown Los Angeles Greyhound station and then take the public transportation all over the city from there, including the many buses or trains down to LB. But it's totally up to you how you want to do it. read more

Long Beach to San Diego My first time ever traveling Greyhound and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I booked online about 2 weeks in advance and gorna great rate by signing up for there app. The whole process of booking a trip was very easy. I loved the straight through route with no stops along the way. Ride was pleasant. Each seat had their own plug in form your phones\laptops etc and free WIFI and restroom in the rear of the bus. Interior a little run down. The arms of some of the seats were damaged. But all and all for what it was it wasnt bad at all. The driver attentive and friendly. The inside of the station was cool. The man behind the desk was helpful and answrred all my questions. They have vending machines for snacks and drinks too. The room isnt very large but if you get there a bit early you should have no problem getting a seat. If you wish to charge your phone while you wait they do have 3 plug ins where you can charge your phone while you wait. The circuit are very loose though, I wasnt able to keep my adapter plugged in without propping my suitcase againat it to keep the power charging. I'd like to see that rectified it would definitely be helpful to charge my phone while I wait. Bus was on time and loaded us all quickly. The trip was smooth sailing all the way. I will definitely use Greyhound again. read more

AVOID! Do not book anything with them. I had bought my ticket for today (New Years Eve) to leave from Long Beach to go north for 12:55pm, as I'm getting ready head there, an email is sent saying they're running 2 hours and 5 min behind and won't leave till 3pm now. I get there early regardless just in case, I'm there till 240 and I'm told that the bus driver is not coming after all. They skipped the stop and I would have to go to Los Angeles and be delayed by several more hours and not get to my destination till past 1am. Incredibly unprofessional and incompetent. I arrived at the terminal and checked the bus tracker it said the bus was delayed until 11:37am so I stepped away to get some coffee. I checked the tracker again and it further said the bus was delayed an additional 10 minutes. Walked back to the bus station and checked tracker again and it said the bus had arrived at 11am and was already gone. Furious, I called customer service and was first hung up on by the outsourced overseas agent; called back and requested escalation to supervisor for refund. was told supervisor would be right with me. After being on hold for 20 minutes I was then told there was no supervisor available to help me. First last and only experience with Greyhound. Bought a business class ticket on Amtrak for the same price as the economy ticket on Greyhound. There is a cafeteria car, I can get up and walk around, and the leg room is gluttonous. The Long Beach Greyhound station is located in a sketchy area but is also kinda hidden. Once you see the tall greyhound/crucero sign, then you are good. Greyhound bus from Long Beach to Tijuana cost me $90 for round trip fare. Purchased an Economy Extra with priority boarding. This was not needed as they do not even ask you what type of ticket you have. Driver did not provide priority boarding to me. Bus had four stops through some of the worse areas of town. Bus driver said heater didn't work on this very cold morning. If you know Spanish great if you do not it is terrible as Drivers only want to speak in Spanish. Upon finally arriving in Tijuana and informed to get off to go through Mexican customs and immigration, the driver said he would wait on the other side for us to come out. Unfortunately when I came out the bus was gone and I was stranded. I had to pay another shuttle to take me to the final destination stop. Also the Greyhound app gives the incorrect address to the bus station in Tijuana. You can never reach anyone using their phone numbers. The actual location is the Tijuana Central Bus Station. Where to begin? The bus was forty-five minutes late. We paid for priority boarding, and found out that this location does not participate in priority boarding. Be wary if you expect to receive what Greyhound advertises. It's easy to book a ticket but you def don't get what you pay for. Wi fi didn't work, bathroom had no light. The Greyhound station in TJ with the guy behind the counter was even more shady by charging $20 for a flex ticket change (suppose to be free) and then wouldn't print the ticket. Their 24/7 customer service doesn't exist. Only open 8-5 CST. Take any mode of transportation BUT DO NOT take Greyhound if you can. I will give 4 stars for the bus drivers from LB to TJ as they were good drivers and friendly. Update: went back to the Greyhound station in TJ and spoke to lady who fixed everything. Received a refund and she provided excellent customer service. She deserves 5 stars for turning a bad experience 360 degrees. Greyhound bus lines... PROS: ridiculously cheap tickets. Their seats on the bus are much comfier than megabus in my opinion. The bus drivers are pretty friendly for the most part too. CONS: the biggest caution I would really advise everyone to take is that because tickets are so cheap, locations are not the best. There's also people who take it who can be a bit sketch. But it makes sense with such cheap tickets they really wouldn't have extra money to splurge on locations and such. They advise on your ticket to come 30 minutes earlier. That heed to that. Many times the bus will run earlier/later than expected and I much rather wait it out than miss. read more

Greyhound is my preferred method of travel, especially if I don't feel like driving far! I have taken the bus from here to Bakersfield. Without any stops, the ride is around 2 hours. This little station is located right nearby the PCH Blue Line Station. It has a few benches to sit on, as well as a few vending machines and restrooms. Depending on the bus itself, the wait can vary. I once waited a whole hour and a half due to traffic issues. Can't blame the driver for that. Be sure to arrive on time for your bus ride otherwise you'll have to wait a long while for the next available one. Get your tickets in advance. They're pretty cheap if you get them ahead. Other than that, enjoy the fresh, comfy ride that comes with free WiFi........some buses come with it!!! read more

They messed up my plan. I was waiting for 3/hrs for them, but the bus didn't show up. The office was closed, the telephone # on their sign was not in service. I couldn't find a telephone number to call them. Finally an option to chat showed up in their website. The lady was chatting with me said "I should wait more, the bus will show up". But the bus didn't show up. Then I found a number to call and after a long time of recorded voice asking lots of question, they transferred me to customer service. Talking with customer service was a nightmare, they kept me on the phone for so long. Finally they gave me another ticket for the next day which it was not an e-ticket and they said I have to take a print. I am traveling without a car with no printer. Did you know that there is a Greyhound Bus Station in the LBC? I didn't either until my neighbor needed me to drop her off for her trip to Arizona. When she told me where it was, all I could picture in my mind was an area teeming with dusty used car lots. I'd never seen any buses or crowds of peeps seeing each other off or any sign of arrivals and departures. Once we neared the spot, I said..."Well, I'll be damned. It IS a bus station!" It is the tiniest bus station I've ever seen, but it is a pick up spot for the LBC. The lobby is about the size of a 7-11 and there is virtually no parking. There is an area right in front for boarding the bus, but the lot is only big enough for one bus at a time. Before the bus heads east towards destinations unknown, I understand that it makes stops at other little bus stations like Compton, Lynwood and some other spots. That's a scary thought. I'll stick with Southwest or JetBlue, thank you very much. 3 stars for the folks who need it, and one for those who don't. Because if we needed it too, it wouldn't be so fucking tiny. read more

This bus depot is a small cement rectangular building located on a small corner of Long Beach Blvd. The walls are grimy and the floor is covered in cheap tile. There is no customer service here. This place is forgettable. This place is a weird kind of void in the limbo of your travel. When my family who was visiting said they wanted to take the Greyhound to Fresno, i was a little skeptical. when we arrived at the bus station it was pretty small, enough to fit one bus, i thought it would be more crowded. checking in was straight forward and easy. my family got their tickets and baggage tags for those luggage going underneath the bus. total travel time was around 7 hours with one transfer at los angeles. my family had a good time, very easy ride for them, ust relax and let someone else drive. thats why i give greyhound a four. it really isnt as bad as i thought it would be. maybe next time we travel around CA we'll take the greyhound! read more

On Dec. 18, 2015, I was waiting for my bus which was scheduled for 10:30am going to Oceanside, CA. I was told by the ticket clerk that I needed to wait to board because he was going to load a family of twenty (20) people first. I'm a disabled person with a mobility device which was in plain sight. I waited and the bus ended up leaving late. Why would a family of 20 take precedence over the disabled? None of them were disabled. When the bus arrived in Santa Ana, about four people got off and there were another ten or so that were waiting to get on. The problem was that there were not enough seats. The bus driver said to three spanish people that they could sit on the bus steps and that he hoped he wouldn't get into trouble, that the ride from Santa Ana to Oceanside was a short one... They sat there. I was concerned that if there was a bus accident and the riders needed to exit out of the front door that it wouldn't be possible because these riders could very well be blocking the doorway with their bodies. When I contacted GH customer relations about this I was told that, "if the riders consented to not wait for the next bus (four hours later) that they could opt to sit on the front steps." WOW, really? These people were never told that they could wait for the next bus as the driver never mentioned that. I'm shocked that GH condons this type of service. I had called about this same issue a month before to find out if GH overbooks. They claim they don't. Yeah, right... is your safety a concern to you? I had to give this a 4 star review, although it should have been a -4 only because Yelp only puts the highest review first even though it's an antique review. read more

I paid 33 to travel 200miles from LB, CA to Indio, CA and that's the highest I've paid in the past couple years. I forget to print my ticket and they want to charge me an additional 5 dollars. As far as bus lines go, if say its worth the trip to LA just to take the megabus. It's waaaay cheaper than this line and waaaaaay faster. Like astoundingly faster. AND more comfy. That being said, they do take cash payments. Also, I left my bag at this station, and eventually, after having to call the main headquarters in Dallas only to find out that the number online for this is outdated, I got through to Long Beach. They were nice enough to have it sent through, that's more than I expected. So they get three stars from me. If you absolutely HAVE to take this bus, I've heard it already, just come with low expectations and a sense of survival. Don't just "go with the flow". Ask questions, be alert, and unless you've put it under the bus, do not, and I repeat, DO NOT LET THAT BAGGAGE OUT OF YOUR SIGHT! read more

Please stay away from this Greyhound station, the drivers that service the routes that go to Long Beach station are some of the most rudest and confrontational people I have ever met period. I've never had problems with the drivers that serve the routes that go to Anaheim or Santa Ana. But have never had even a satisfactory experience with the drivers that serve the routes that go to Long Beach. Even public transit drivers are a million times more nicer than the drivers that drive the Greyhound buses to Long Beach. You have been warned. read more

Terrible company. Always late, with little no indication of when your delayed bus will arrive (IF it will arrive is probably a more accurate statement). And if you want more information about the extent of your delay, good luck, because you're in for a wild ride of being transferred from department to department while being perpetually on hold. I would honestly avoid them at all costs if you could. They are extremely unprofessional, and to me it seems like a miracle that they're still in business. It really speaks poorly of the public transportation we have available in Southern California. I honestly might just start using the Amtrak to get to San Diego from LA, despite it being out of the way compared to this bus station, at this point I think it's impossible to have poorer service than Greyhound. read more

I am shocked. This place looks like a large living room with a restroom at one side. It probably was. As per usual, the stop is in a sketchy area. The ticket agent was the rudest person I've ever encountered. He was very abrasive and confrontational not only with me but also with my 87 year old Aunt. He yelled at her and told her she should have come early to purchase her ticket as she was waiting in line when the bus arrived. I made a comment to another customer and then ensued the confrontation with me. His exact words were tell me to my face-whatever you have to say. Absolutely horrible experience, the 1st day tried to call the number on the website, couldn't get anybody on the phone. Thought to myself I'll just show up early and buy my ticket at the station, joke was on me, they close at 5pm. Bus was supposed to arrive at 8pm, never showed up, I waited til 9pm . The next day I woke up early, purchased my ticket online. Arrived early to the terminal, just to be denied to be able to ride the bus, by the rude bus driver. The driver yelled at me, cursed at me also, and stated that I can just get a refund. Now after spending 2 days trying to catch their bus, I resulted to returning home, & just driving my own car to where I was heading. Just to find out they don't want to refund my $54. There are several other bus companies available, I recommend trying other than Greyhound. Also their prices seem to be 2x as much as any other bus company. I paid $54 to go from Long Beach to Mesa Arizona, just for their rude driver to not allow me to board the bus. A plane ticket for the same trip was $46, you do the math . Still no refund! read more

It was our first time to take the greyhound bus from Long Beach going to Suisun city CA last Dec.15, 2017. We purchased the ticket online and from there it shows that there will be 2 bus transfer. The trip will start from Long beach to LA then bus transfer from LA, then to continue the journey from LA to Oakland(bus transfer again then to Suisun). But what happened was from Long Beach we went South going to San Diego instead of going to LA. when the bus dropped off passengers in Oceanside we told the driver that we are heading to Suisun and we will transfer to a bus in LA but the driver said we will be dropped off in san diego. As a first time rider tourist of greyhound we go on with the trip, When we reached San Diego I ask the driver again about the bus heading to Suisun/San Francisco and he said it will be there. When we fall in line for the bus in San Diego we thought that is the one going to Suisun but the driver said that is not the one so he told us to talk to the counter for our scheduled trip. When I talked to the ticketing counter they said they don't have a bus going to Suisun/San Francisco because the bus left already at 22:15H. so they told us to rebooked for the next early morning trip or refund the ticket. it was cold and we don"t have anywhere to stay for a night, we asked them if they will provide any place to stay or at least to send us back to LA but they said they won't/can't. We told them how come the driver saw our ticket before going to the bus and he didn't realize that there are passengers going to another city. The bus driver didn't even announce every destination where we are so that passengers would be aware of the dropped off points. So what happened was we were booked to the early morning trip the next day at 05:30H. the supposed to be night trip from 8pm to 8am became an almost 24 hours journey we reached Suisun City Dec. 16, 2017 at 20:30. We've lost our 1 day travelling. No hotel/hostel or food offered from the bus company. A sad greyhound experience. So passenger if your taking greyhound on your next travel and you are a first timer like us be careful, ask the driver about the bus destination and drop off places. My bus was set to leave at 6am and my ticket said to arrive no later than 1 hour before. I arrived at 5am as my ticket said I should. NO ONE WAS HERE. I was stuck outside by myself for a good 40 minutes before a worker arrived. And then she just announced the bus to San Diego (the one I'm taking) AND the bus to Tijuana, Mexico are both delayed from 45 minutes to an hour. My experience so far has been horrible. Suposibly this bus is faster than the regular one after we tranfered in LA and thats not true. We lost like an hour in Long beach doing nothing.. just waiting in the parking lot i dont dont know why. Also, the electrical outlets and the wifi dont work.. somebody needs to teach the drivers how to reset that. I see some tvs but nothing is playing. Its ridicoulos. At least the ac is working.
