Like the exterior design of the bus. Its very eye catchy. So Long Beach Transit offers free shuttle bus to downtown. Yes. Its very convenient. The other bus lines are convenient too and are not very expensive. A very economical way of traveling. I suggest googling before you get on the bus. Don't want to get lost. Especially if you are a tourist like me. Bus drivers are very friendly to talk to.

Long Beach Transit service is not only just buses on the ground but also the watertaxi available…read more My friends and I enjoyed our first watertaxi experience in this July. Long Beach was running its seasonal Water Taxi service during this May 23 to September 1, 2025, a fun, breezy way to get around the harbor for just $1 or $5 a ride! Two routes to choose from: 1. Aquabus (blue route on the map) * Ride time: ~20 minutes * Fare: $1 one way Stops: * Dock 4 by the Aquarium * Shoreline Village (Dock 9) * Queen Mary 2. Aqualink (yellow route on the map) * Ride time: ~40 minutes * Fare: $5 one way Stops: * Dock 4 by the Aquarium * Queen Mary * Alamitos Bay Landing (Berth 3) Tickets: You can buy them ahead through the Long Beach Transit APP, or just pay cash onboard (they can give change). Schedule & tips: Each fare is one way which means you can hop off, explore the area for a while, and then catch another boat back (just pay again for the return). Be sure to check the timetable carefully, especially the last trip of the day. Weekends (Fri-Sun) have more departures than weekdays (Mon-Thu), but either way, it's first come, first served and no reserved seats. If the boat is full, you'll just have to wait for the next one. Parking: Where you park depends on where you board. The official site has detailed info and you can search : Long Beach Water Taxis We parked at 99 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802 (height limit 8'2"). The boats have both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a little snack counter. On our 40-minute ride, we got so caught up chatting with friends that we didn't realize we'd reached the last stop and the crew had to ask if we were staying on for another round. The sun was out in full force, but with the breeze off the water, it felt perfectly relaxing. After heading back, we strolled through Harbor Village and ended the afternoon with a leisurely lunch at Parker's Lighthouse. What a perfect way to wrap up a sunny day on the water and highly recommend it.

Okay so I love the bus. I use it to get everywhere and I'm a pretty frequent rider. The drivers are…read moreusually always nice but this review is about a specific driver. The driver for the bus 172 Palo Verde to downtown at 5pm on January 30th tried to tell me the bus was 1.45. Which is a pretty stupid lie considering all the buses are 1.25. I'm not sure what the point of asking for 20 cents more like I genuinely don't know why he did that but it was stupid and pointless. Do better driver hopefully next time it's the usual driver for 172 since he knows the cost of fair.

We had a "complicated" trip with about 160 passengers and multiple stops/destinations. Biggest issues: 1. They wouldn't let us adjust the pick up times even though we had the buses rented the entire day. We had to book a separate company for drop off for 2 of our buses. 2. They were late to the original pick up time!! (It worked out that we could send 1 bus later.) This was a performance-based trip so we almost missed our performance. 3. One of the buses just left while we were there, we still had another stop to get to but they "had to do their routes." This caused a group of students and a parent to get stranded in the hot sun for about 2 hours. Parents and principals complained. 4. Because of the bus leaving, we had to cram 130 people on 2 buses to get to our last stop, including having to send a group of chaperones in an uber because they couldn't fit on the buses. 5. Again because of double booking, even though the drivers were kind to us, they were frustrated because they were late to their routes. I have never had a bus company be so hard on times, and not flexible at all when things were running behind.

It turned what could have been a logistical headache into a super fun and easy way to get around and see all the homes as a group. The bus showed up well before we needed it, which meant nobody felt rushed and we could get organized at our own pace. Our driver, Bill, was absolutely the best. We had a pretty rowdy crew, and he handled it like a pro while also being part of the fun. Every time we stopped at a property he would drop us right at the front, loop around, find the perfect parking spot, and when we came back out he was always right there waiting for us. It made the whole experience seamless. The bus itself was spotless and really high-end. The music was great, the AC was blasting, and even on a hot day with a full bus, it stayed comfortable the entire time. Originally we had the bus booked until 4 pm, but our group ended up going until 6. Bill never once complained. He kept the energy up, had a big smile the entire time, and truly felt like part of the group. The little things matter, and this company nailed them. Fair pricing, a beautiful bus, and a driver who went above and beyond. If you're looking for a party bus, stop your search. This is the company to call.
