We had to pull over and our driver secured the doors back shut... then this happened 3 more times. It was really scary and someone could have gotten seriously injured!! I'm frustrated that I have not been able to get in contact with a manager to address this issue and want to prevent this from happening again. Our bus driver said the issue with the doors was known, and parts were on-order which means this could have been prevented and I do not appreciate the decision to allow us to ride on the bus. This was such a negative experience since our driver was also 30 minutes late to pick up (she went to the wrong address) and stopping 3 times on the freeway caused us to have to cancel our stop, and turn around to get to the event we were planning on attending. I've been trying to get in touch VIP PDX for 2 weeks, and my calls and emails have not been returned... Do yourself a favor and do NOT book with this company.

Since we had multiple stops and there were 15 of us including 3 toddlers, it would have been a huge hassle to call so many Ubers/Lyfts. Not to mention all the heavy car seats that we would have had to carry with us to each location. My solution: renting a private bus! I reached out to multiple shuttle companies, but Shanghai really stood out to me. Dusty responded almost immediately and was very helpful in providing details about their pricing and buses. While my main goal was really just to safely and efficiently get my group to the various spots, it was a plus that Shanghai's bus also included a karaoke machine. Once we decided on the terms and details, Dusty sent over a contract within the next few days. The morning of our ride, Dusty texted to let me know our bus was on the way. Our driver, Ron, arrived a few minutes early, so by our reservation start time, we were all set to go. He was professional, kind and drove cautiously. As it was raining, I appreciated that he dropped us off as close as he safely could at each location, and then picked us back up when we were ready to continue to the next spot. The cooler was also stocked with ice, as promised. We ended up riding the Solid Gold bus, which is literally a converted school bus. I must admit this was very different from our typical sprinter party bus experience. For one, I had never ridden a party bus with kids before, and blasting "Wheels On The Bus" instead of dance music was such a different vibe. Lol! The bus was unique and had a vintage feel -- very Portland. Given our situation, I actually preferred this over the dark, tinted windows of the sprinters we are used to. The Solid Gold allowed us to see the city during our rides. We got a lot of stares every time we pulled up to a donut shop or brewery, but it was a fun experience. Everyone had a great time, especially the kids who now point out every bus that passes by on the street and say they want to go back to the party bus!

So after a four-hour flight delay (not their fault) with my wife and two tired little kids I get taken for a ride by Around the Town. A simple "We're sorry, because your flight was late and our cars are broken down we cannot help you" would have sufficed ... but no, a beat taxi-van that smelled awful is what we got instead. Really classy, Inna. What's more, they raised their rates w/o notification ... $85 from NE Portland to PDX? You have to be kidding. Don't waste your time with these guys ... they used to have class. Not anymore.

Lucked out with same day door to door service - We've been able to call on these guys a couple of…read moretimes in a hurry and pinch with very fast response and flexibility. Sometimes emergencies or rush situations happen and scheduling medical transport with wheelchair capability can be a serious hassle since most transport requires advanced scheduling and planning. COMPARISONS - Sadly many insurance don't cover non-emergency medical transport. Getting old isn't cheap and medical transport isn't either, compared to other similar services ANEMT rates are average to a little better. MetroWest transport is the most popular and great, but they are constantly booked at least 1-2 days out or 5-10 hours for same day. MetroWest also has stair capable wheelchairs and stretchers by request and door to door service. TriMet offers basic medical transport for fairly cheap via shuttle, but they don't offer door to door so you'll need someone to push if the chair isn't motorized and electric. Uber and Lyft have wheelchair capable vehicles, but again, no door to door service and requires advanced scheduling. Interestingly Kaiser Washington State insurance covers non-emergency transport, but not in Oregon. Above and beyond - Along with being able to respond quickly with door to door service, they helped with transferring inside the home to and from the wheelchair. Aways super nice and friendly guys. Easy pay via credit card through a tex message link or over the phone. Have questions, be sure to ask, they are very helpful and accommodating. Good service, responsive, fast and better pricing than most. Thanks for taking good care of our family.

Every single time has been a great experience…read more Prices are clear, the booking process is simple, they always confirm and keep close contact, arrive early and have great drivers. They have plenty of space for a family and car seats if you request it. My most recent experience was during the snow storm of 2017. I needed to get to the airport for an early flight and the roads were covered in snow and ice. Another car service raised their rates almost 4x, over $200 for a single trip to the airport - price gouging people that don't have another option. USA Airport Shuttle had to put on chains but they were prepared and still arrived 15 minutes early and with a smile. Oday was one of the nicest and best drivers I've encountered. Their commitment to me has earned my commitment to them. After multiple trips and a lot of experience with different car services in different cities - I can honestly say that they are the top choice in PDX.

I thought spending the money on the bus wouldn't be worth it, but it was our own moving party. The rules on the bus were very easy to follow. No feet on the ceiling, and be ready to pay a cleaning fee if you get sick on the bus. The bus we had was full of subs, and had a great sound system, two stripper poles, a fire place, a bar stocked with ice, cups and water. They even had a DJ for lights and music. We ended up getting back home earlier than expected, and they adjusted the cost for us. Great company!
