I had an excellent experience at Boswell's which is where I got everything fixed for a fraction of the price. Bill and Tom, the latter of whom is the owner we're super friendly and nice. Tom's wife answers the phone and is polite and courteous. I wanted the job done quickly and efficiently so that I could get my car back on the road otherwise I wouldn't be able to move forward with the rest of my work in business meetings they were very understanding of that and made sure that they did everything to accomplish it and exceeded my expectations I have absolutely nothing horrible to say about them because they're such wonderful folks and apparently they've been in business for a very long time and they know what they do and they're good at it. If you ever find yourself stuck in the area and need car repairs I would have no hesitation to recommend them to anyone

The young lady at the front desk assisted me and informed me that the service required full payment upfront. Now, for many businesses, this would be a red flag. But given the nature of this particular establishment, along with its solid reputation, I was completely OK with this. You've heard of "dine and dash," involving people who eat and skip out on their bill, so I'm sure that this business didn't want to deal with people who "drive and dash." Anyway.... The mechanic started working on my vehicle immediately and was extremely thorough. Shortly thereafter, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Mr. John, when he entered the sitting area/lobby. I asked if he was the owner because he just had that commanding presence that most owners possess & I wanted to speak with him directly. I informed Mr. John about why I came to his shop and truly appreciated the time and care he put into servicing my vehicle to ensure that it was safe. He told me that he could tell I took care of it, and that for its age, it was in great shape. Mr. John even went the extra mile (see what I did there, haha) and showed me some things that were worn and would eventually need repair. This was great info, not only so I know what to expect for a future visit to my local auto repair shop but also because I decided to have some of the work performed that same day. I felt it was wise to get it out of the way and not have to worry about anything breaking while on the road. Mr. John even told me to call once I arrived at my destination, which further proved that he genuinely cares about his customers and takes great pride in his work. I called the following week and let the young lady at the service desk know that my trip was smooth!

I scheduled my appointment for 8:30am and when I arrived at 8:01 am, I was told very nasty that I was late and my appointment was at 7:30am. I said, that's impossible because that's the time I drop my daughter off for school so there is now way I agreed to get there at 7:30am. I also explained to them that the reason I was 30 minutes early (remember, my appointment was at 8:30am) is because my car kept stalling to start (push button start, car is a 2020). I let them turn the car off to change the oil. After being there an hour, the guy quotes my oil change and says to me that he will "check my battery" to see if its low. At about 10:45 am (at this point, I'm there for 2 hours for an oil change), its time to pay and they tried to charge me $125.00 for "looking at my battery to figure out what the problem was". I was never told that it would cost me an additional $125 to "look at my battery". I asked him why would I pay $125 for something AutoZone does for free?! He then got nasty and told me that he will drop the $125 so "I wouldn't leave on bad terms" and I asked that I never return. I said, "no problem, you aren't the only mechanic in town that does oil changes". Never, ever deal with these people.

I ordered my own parts and when they were replacing the brakes they discovered they were not the correct size. They were nice enough to return the wrong ones, and pick up the replacement brakes from the auto parts store. Keon and his co worker Smitty were very friendly, knowledgeable, and transparent about the work being performed. I will definitely be calling them again we I need work done on my car.

I tell them Monday I will be coming to get it and take it elsewhere for a inspection. 2/6/22 7:30pm get a call the mechanic was in coming out of THE SUPER 8 MOTEL IN WALDORF PULLED OUT IN FRONT A TRACTOR TRAILOR!! The partner of the owner goes by P.J was on site asked if we had full coverage and stated the mechanic is a independent contractor who was driving my car after hours so they are not liable. This for I received my insurance deductible of 500 dollars. The owner Keon Wilson says he will reimburse me my 4,767.88 for my engine however I have not received it or any information on when or how I will be reimbursed. Just excuses! I asked why the business insurance is not paying for it? He said "because the vehicle was not in the shop at the time of the incident, the mechanic a independent contractor who was driving the vehicle after hours that's where the problem comes up". So now I'm out of a vehicle , 4760 for the engine not to mention the 1,000 I spent on tires new tires. The mechanic/driver provided our insurance to the state trooper (this is now a at fault accident on my insurance). I am mad as hell!! This is going to be a long drawn out process in court now. While scheduling a Maryland state inspection for a vehicle is easy to accomplish with Ft Washington…read moreAuto & Tire, it is evident that the main reason they "serve" as a Maryland State Inspection Station is for the added benefit of their crew obtaining the work required to pass the inspection rather than focus on what the customer needs in accordance with the Maryland state guidelines. ....talk about poor customer service!!! We took a vehicle for Maryland State inspection. They documented 3 "Declined Jobs" 1.stabilizer link right front has play 2.stabilizer link left front///suggested 3. battery hold down. (and a) note: "passenger door does not open properly" We took it to our mechanic who repaired the "Declined Jobs" AS REQUIRED. When we took it back to Ft Washington for reinspection, we were told it failed because the door had not been repaired. HAD FORT WASHINGTON AUTO & TIRE LISTED THE DOOR AS ONE OF THE "DECLINED JOBS" AS THEY SHOULD HAVE, our mechanic would have repaired the door also. When asked WHY they failed to list it as a "Declined Job" the response was "...because we don't repair the door so we couldn't give you an estimate". Again, since they could not benefit from the repair, they caused us GREAT inconvenience! Thus, we strongly recommend you take your vehicle to a Maryland Inspection Station which inspects your vehicle and DOCUMENTS THE INSPECTION RESULTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH MARYLAND STATE GUIDELINES. Fort Washington Auto and Tire certainly failed to do that.
