Also, the inner workings of these things require great skill and knowledge. It is the kind of car that you can't put in the hands of just any ordinary mechanic shop. I stumbled onto this shop one day after being frustrated with a bad MB dealer experience and repair shops that always seemed shady / untrustworthy. The kind of places in your gut where you know you're getting "jipped or they are trying to take you for your money!" I've never had that feeling here at District Line Auto Service, nor any bad experiences. Ray, the owner, has always provided an honest assessment of what my car really needed and takes the time to explain the issue in detail. You can be confident that the work will be done correctly. In my experience, I have found their quotes and repairs to come in at almost half the price of the dealerships. They are fast at getting the work done right.... the first time around. Mostly all my repairs were completed within hours or the same day; if the parts were available. If not the case, Ray keeps you informed and communicates with you throughout the process. You really get a good genuine vibe dealing with this place. Something you don't always walk-away feeling....when paying your hard earned money to most dealerships and repair shops around the DMV. I took car back to District Line, to make repair for which I had paid for and was told I would have to pay for thermostat replacement.

I even got the Inspector General of Virginia involved after you thumbed your nose at the Better Business Bureau. This was after you originally told me you could fix it the AC. The engine work was done fine. I had to return it once for the engine work but you did fix that problem. But you shouldn't have taken in the AC work if you didn't know what you were doing or at least refunded the money I paid for the AC work. You want me to remove my negative response, return the $800+ money you charged me fir the AC replacement that never worked.

Johnny happily remembered me, asked about my family, checked the manufacturer's recommended pressure inside the door jamb, and filled all four tires while we caught up. That warmth is matched by extraordinary service. When my niece's car would not start several blocks away and she hoped to avoid paying for a tow, Johnny walked over to examine it. When a friend was stranded in Takoma and needed to leave town, he helped get her car running in time. I have also brought prospective car purchases to him for honest pre-purchase inspections. Johnny stepped back from the business several years ago to spend more time with his newborn, but when he heard that customers were dissatisfied with the way it was being managed, he came out of semi-retirement. His name, standards, and reputation in the community mattered too much to him to let the business decline. Johnny is honest, reliable, and willing to bend over backwards to accommodate his customers whenever possible. He would also be perfectly happy to share a cup of tea or Turkish-style coffee while discussing your car and what it genuinely needs. Anyway, these guys are honest, dependable, and I highly recommend them. After a friend recommended I try them, I never went anywhere else for anything (accept alignments, which they can't do)! I've got so many stories that could prove their integrity, but long story short: bring your business to them! Examples: during that ice storm a couple year ago, I thought I ruined my breaks driving home in it. Had the car towed to them the next day, and they inspected it. Ray called me and explained that nothing was wrong and that the breaks were just iced over. Told me it was safe to drive and I could pick it up. They didn't charge me for their time and didn't use the opportunity to make me pay for something I didn't need. Such great guys! Another time I took my car to them because it was idling rough (mind you I didn't look under the hood myself) and brought it to them. They identified the issue as a broken fan and recommended I replace it ASAP. Which I did and they finished the work so quickly! Scam artist I came…read morein to get an inspection after previously failing for having worn tires and showed Amir my failure clause from a different shop. I had since replaced my tires so I was thinking this may only take a few minutes since I called prior to arriving. Immediately Amir approaches with an attitude saying "I don't care about your previous inspection we have to do our own" but since they had no waiting chairs inside I watched as my car was "inspected" which really bothered him. After lifting up my car and checking my tires, he immediately tells me I'm going to fail because he claimed oil was leaking (5 minute total inspection), no oil was leaking. I said ok whatever just give me the inspection report and I'll pay. He refused and held my keys hostage while claiming my car was his car now and that he would take my keys home (as he entered his vehicle) so police were involved. He tried trapping me inside the shop and even shutting the gate on top of where I stood saying "you're not from this side of the bridge" like if he is some kind of gangster. I ended up paying $20 for the 5 minute "inspection" that did not state what was inspected and left after police intervention. I just moved down the street that was the most sour experience I've had since living here. I had absolutely no animosity towards him and just wanted a proper evaluation. I will never return and I would recommend everyone else stay far away.
