So I had a Yelp event in Davis, but I got out there about an hour early,so decided to pregame a bit…read moreat a bar located across the street. We headed over to G Street WunderBar located on G street in downtown Davis. We ended up parking on the street-so many parking spots in Davis-so it was no problem. When we walked in,it was quiet, not a lot going on but I knew this was a fun place. Wasn't hard to imagine how much fun this place would be on a Friday or Saturday night in this college town. I asked the bartender lady and she pretty much verified that it gets nutso in there on weekends. This bar has lots of tables and multiple rooms,so they have capacity for many people. They have multiple pool tables and video games in the back room, along with an entirely separate bar back there. They have a big screen projector screen and many small TVs along the bar to accommodate anyone wanting to watch any live sporting event. The Happy Hour here is pretty solid as well,$5 drinks were available. I heard the food here is pretty decent but we weren't here for that-maybe next time. My favorite part of this bar though easily was the bartender-She was such a breath of fresh air,so much personality and her hockey knowledge was amazing-she really made my visit to this bar quite enjoyable. In closing, If you ever find yourself in downtown Davis and need to kill some time or just want a quick drink, don't hesitate to drop by G Street Wunderbar-it's a good time.

Seemed like a nice variety of draft beers to choose from but the drafts werent working so I settled for a bottle of Lucky Buddha. Plenty of TVs with sports on, and in the back, another large area that had older video games, some pool tavles and some electronic dartboards in the corner. There is a BBQ inside that had some dishes I want to go back and try. I can see myself easily coming into this place to hang out for a couple hours and having a good time

My husband and I were dressed up, and it was fairly obvious that we were not college students. After breaking the ice and mentioning that it was my first visit to the Davis location, while my spouse had been there a few times before, the employees became more relaxed and accommodating. I appreciated their friendly service and the generous portion of the Kava Cloud Breaker. The Davis location offers plenty of flavors to choose from, which made for a great experience. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area.

The Cloudbreaker immediately met my taste buds with bitterness and then left my tongue completely numb for several minutes. Perhaps those sensations would have paid off if they were followed by a calming or THC-like effect, but I didn't experience any change in mental state. The comfortable atmosphere saves this establishment from 1 star. Dim lights, leather couches, chill music, and colorful tiki wall art make for a decent study spot or date night. However, if you're hanging out at a business, you gotta support it, and to support it, you gotta buy something -- I can't see myself buying anything kava-related with any ounce of enjoyment. Surely there must be some variation of a kava drink that tastes delightful. I don't want to spend any more money finding out though.

The campus is gorgeous that it sits on and the Center is absolutely beautiful inside. What I love most about the seating inside is that it's designed well with comfortable seats that aren't crammed together and you can actually enjoy the show. There are vents under each seat to keep you cool, which is also a plus on warmer seasons. The sound quality here is absolute perfection as well and I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't feel the same way as I do about this wonderful venue! What a true gift it is to have near us! I've seen the UCD VGO perform before, but either at off-campus venues or on-campus at Wright Hall main theatre -- this was my first time watching them at Mondavi, they've grown a bunch! What's especially neat is that all of their members are current students or alumni of UC Davis, and all of their pieces are arranged by their own members. Each quarter is a different theme for the concert that explores various genres of video game soundtracks. Some of their past performances can be found here if you're curious as to what kind of music they play: http://bit.ly/4gLwY54 Some songs that were played (with live vocalists too!) were from Clair Obscur, Deltarune, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Deemo II, Minecraft, Peak, League of Legends, Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire Emblem, Overcooked, Bloodborne, Lies of P, Persona, and more. Same ticket pricing whether you purchase online or in-person at the box office. 10% CAAA alumni discount only for Mondavi Center Presents events throughout the season. Staff get discounted parking via the app as well. There is the Gateway parking garage and Parking Lots #1 and #2 shared with the Manetti Shrem art museum, Mondavi Food & Wine Institute, Alumni Center. They did have some parking attendants providing directions before and after the event. Print-at-home or mobile ticketing. Restrooms clean, did not avail during intermission but they also had a merchandise counter setup. As for concessions, only drinks can be brought into the hall, food has to be eaten in the lobby, also no outside food. Ushers/Ticketers were very good directing people to the correct doors/rows/seats.

After the performance, they were nowhere to be found. An hour before this, I went back, and it was in the lost and found! Before looking, the lady asked me about the sizes and colors. I appreciate that, because she wanted to make sure that I was the true owner of the clothing articles. I'm lame for doing this review, but I'm so happy I got the stuff back!!! Also, someone mentioned that lighting was bad. I've gone to several dress rehearsals and the staff patiently work with us to make sure we performers get what we prefer :) I'm going to miss performing at DDR at Freeborn Hall :(

For lu'au every year, I'm pleased with the tables of eight and how they are laid yet (and yet there's enough room for dancers to go through tables!). For shows like DDR, I like the seating on the main floor, and the seating on the side. For dance rehearsals, w00t for accommodating Freeborn staff! Minor grip-age, if you will: why is the dance room at the ARC technically bigger than Freeborn's stage?? Yeah, makes it's a tad bit difficult/ANNOYING that that is the case. You practice your steps and placement 1231800x only to discover that you need to downsize your steps. [end gripe]

Instead, our experience was ruined by the owner, Gordon Langstaff, and his completely inappropriate behavior around a small child. My son, who is three and on the autism spectrum, briefly picked up a loose electrical cord that was lying on the ground under the patio stairs (I have a photo of how exposed it was). Instead of calmly addressing the situation, Gordon walked over in a rude, irritated tone and said, "Can you do something?" I told him I was already handling it and redirecting my son, but as he walked away he started cursing under his breath, using foul language that was clearly audible right next to my child. There is no excuse for swearing like that in front of a three‑year‑old, especially when the unsafe cord was left out in the open by the restaurant in the first place. Whether or not my son is autistic, families should never be subjected to hostility and foul language from the owner of a restaurant. If you offer outdoor seating and leave cords and other hazards accessible, you should expect children to be curious and respond with basic courtesy, not anger. The food itself was mediocre, and after that interaction it honestly didn't matter. This was supposed to be a special birthday outing, and his attitude and language completely ruined it.

If you know, it is already incredibly hard taking an autistic child to a restaurant. The manager thought it was ok to tell my 13 year old to put on my autistic son's shoes..... (why not ask me, the mom?) As my son is screaming and heaving a full meltdown over shoes now, the manager continues to apologize because there were possibly glass shards on the ground in his restaurant. If that is the case, maybe someone else should be notified as that is a serious safety hazard and my son would get cut anyway as he has sandals that expose his feet, as did my daughter. I will never eat here and will make sure to let all my friends with and without kids with disabilities to never eat here. What an unacceptable excuse this place made me and my family feel. If I could I would rate it 0 stars. Horrible management!!
