I bought tickets for a movie showing at 8:20pm. After arriving to the movie theater the doors were locked and the theater appeared to be closed. There was no sign anywhere saying that it was closed and nothing on their website. Even after checking their Instagram and Facebook there was zero update on why the theater was not open during our showtime. Now Im struggling to get a refund through Fandango due to the time of day it is. This is very inconvenient and unreliable.

The Varsity Theater is the place to go in Davis to see art house, foreign and independent films on 1 of their 2 screens. This Movie House is also one of those "Streamline Moderne" architectural landmarks that had my full attention at first sight and watch.

I noticed on the Davis Wiki just now that they also offer discount Tuesday prices like the other theaters, which I didn't know before.

It's clean and you can space out in the theater and they have lots of snacks. The workers are really nice! That said, the speakers could use some upgrades or repairs. Saw Wuthering Heights in theater 6 and the sound seemed off- like too tinny and almost unlistenable at points because it was so sharp. Would be great if the tech gets slight upgrades even if the rest of the theater stays basic.

We were pointed to 1 of the 5 theaters that are all accessible right there in the lobby. From the moment we walked in theater #2 we thought we were in a long skinny college auditorium, not a movie theater. There weren't as many seats, and not much of an incline towards the front of the theater, which was very odd. We sat down in our very stiff slender fabric & wooden seats. We both noticed the floor had a strange curve in it, which later almost became an issue as I got up to leave. Once all the TV commercials were done playing, the movie started but the sound wasn't like what we're used to in a normal movie theater. After sitting there for about 30 mins I started feeling itchy and congested like the A/C filter needed to be changed, or quite possibly from the old fabric wooden seats. I did use the restroom which was fairly clean, but very old with hard water stains all over the sink. Aside from the handicap stall, the rest were so skinny you literally had to straddle the toilet to open the door to get out.

Lo and behold the science center was super cheap to attend for two classes, and the exhibits are very engaging and fun! Anna, Bradley, and David, made our experience fun and exciting! We headed over to G Street WunderBar located on G street in downtown Davis. We ended up parking on the street-so many parking spots in Davis-so it was no problem. When we walked in,it was quiet, not a lot going on but I knew this was a fun place. Wasn't hard to imagine how much fun this place would be on a Friday or Saturday night in this college town. I asked the bartender lady and she pretty much verified that it gets nutso in there on weekends. This bar has lots of tables and multiple rooms,so they have capacity for many people. They have multiple pool tables and video games in the back room, along with an entirely separate bar back there. They have a big screen projector screen and many small TVs along the bar to accommodate anyone wanting to watch any live sporting event. The Happy Hour here is pretty solid as well,$5 drinks were available. I heard the food here is pretty decent but we weren't here for that-maybe next time. My favorite part of this bar though easily was the bartender-She was such a breath of fresh air,so much personality and her hockey knowledge was amazing-she really made my visit to this bar quite enjoyable. In closing, If you ever find yourself in downtown Davis and need to kill some time or just want a quick drink, don't hesitate to drop by G Street Wunderbar-it's a good time.
