I went to college at UC Davis quite a few years back and probably stopped by G Street WunderBar once or twice. After all this time, I recently visited again, and it still has that classic downtown Davis vibe that feels familiar and welcoming. I grabbed a brew and caught some sports on the TV while killing time before a show nearby. It's definitely got that dive bar charm and it's a nice little spot to hang out if you're in the area.

Loved this place. Great vibe/feel. Food was great. Awesome beer selection both on tap and bottled. Bartender fast and attentive. Nice folks at the bar with us.

NOT HAVE AGAIN: The BBQ brisket sandwich was priced ok ($8) but just so-so. BBQ sauce only on the top of the meat.

If you know, it is already incredibly hard taking an autistic child to a restaurant. The manager thought it was ok to tell my 13 year old to put on my autistic son's shoes..... (why not ask me, the mom?) As my son is screaming and heaving a full meltdown over shoes now, the manager continues to apologize because there were possibly glass shards on the ground in his restaurant. If that is the case, maybe someone else should be notified as that is a serious safety hazard and my son would get cut anyway as he has sandals that expose his feet, as did my daughter. I will never eat here and will make sure to let all my friends with and without kids with disabilities to never eat here. What an unacceptable excuse this place made me and my family feel. If I could I would rate it 0 stars. Horrible management!!

Tuesday around 4pm ended up being the perfect time to slip in, avoid the crowds, and actually get to chat with Scotty about the menu. Since it was our first time here, we appreciated his food and drink recommendations, and he absolutely steered us right. We sat in the decked-out "Library" room, which felt like stepping into an old-school den with deep red leather sofas, bookshelves, and an impressive collection of art and decor. Overall, a fantastic experience. The icing on the cake was the service, which was truly top shelf. Every community has those people who become part of what makes it special, Scotty is clearly one of those people. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Stepping inside feels like a journey back to the days my grandfather vividly recounted. This place is a sanctuary where the heart of country music thrives, away from the glitz and glamor, inviting those seeking genuine moments over selfies and trendy drinks. As the lyrics perfectly encapsulate, it's "out in the country past the city limits sign," where this honky-tonk near the county line comes alive. The atmosphere ignites as the sun dips, welcoming a vibrant mix of whiskey, women, music, and that characteristic haze of smoke. It's the hub where cowboy folk gather for the boot-scootin' boogie, preserving the essence of a bygone era. Judy's is where hardworking souls, just like myself, find solace after a day's toil. When the clock strikes quitting time, there's an unspoken pull to this haven. The lyrics resonate--firing up the pickup truck, feeling the freedom on that highway, racing toward that hideaway nestled among the woods. It's where the boot-scootin' boogie thrives, where stories unravel, and where memories are etched into the very fabric of this time-honored establishment. Judy's Wild Wrangler Saloon isn't just a bar; it's a living, breathing testament to authenticity, embodying the roots of country music and the cowboy way of life. If you're yearning for a genuine honky-tonk experience, look no further--Judy's is the place where tradition meets the timeless allure of the boot-scootin' boogie. So come on down to this honky tonk. You buy me a shot of whiskey and I'll buy you a beer!

Instead, our experience was ruined by the owner, Gordon Langstaff, and his completely inappropriate behavior around a small child. My son, who is three and on the autism spectrum, briefly picked up a loose electrical cord that was lying on the ground under the patio stairs (I have a photo of how exposed it was). Instead of calmly addressing the situation, Gordon walked over in a rude, irritated tone and said, "Can you do something?" I told him I was already handling it and redirecting my son, but as he walked away he started cursing under his breath, using foul language that was clearly audible right next to my child. There is no excuse for swearing like that in front of a three‑year‑old, especially when the unsafe cord was left out in the open by the restaurant in the first place. Whether or not my son is autistic, families should never be subjected to hostility and foul language from the owner of a restaurant. If you offer outdoor seating and leave cords and other hazards accessible, you should expect children to be curious and respond with basic courtesy, not anger. The food itself was mediocre, and after that interaction it honestly didn't matter. This was supposed to be a special birthday outing, and his attitude and language completely ruined it.
