I love coming here. It's such a chill, quiet spot, and a great place to get a coffee and get a little work done. The avocado toast is so tasty on good quality bread--and the pickled onions on top really do it for me. I've also tried a couple of their sandwiches, most recently the turkey pesto sandwich, and they've been bangers. The cashier is always very personable and helpful. If I could wish for anything, it would be that food portions are a little bigger, but the flavor makes up for it. It's such a nice spot and not far off campus if you want a quick bite and to get away from the coho crowd. One of these days I really need to see one of the shows they host every so often! read more

Super cool place. Great food and they have a relaxing patio or you can sit indoors. The walls are lined with local artists creations and there are vinyl LPs for sale. They had Lagunitas IPA on tap while I was there as well as other libations available. I saw a set of big portable speakers near the bathroom. This leads me to believe that they also have live music maybe on a Friday night? I can see this being a really sweet little spot to come and chill with friends, listen to some music and have some good food. I've eaten here for breakfast several times and it's always A-OK, never a home run (though extra love for their licorice tea, my favorite and not easy to find). Today I went with the granola bowl with fruit and yogurt and a large coffee. The fruit topping my bowl was fresh and vibrant. We ate indoors and the worn-in rooms provide a casual, comfortable atmosphere for dining with friends. The outdoor patio is lovely on a warm day. Plenty of bike parking out front. Street parking is a little harder to come by, but we found a fairly close spot on a Sunday morning. read more

Delta of Venus is a no frills, hipster-friendly brunch spot in Davis with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. We decided to pop in here and try the the Mexican Scramble and Adam's Special. As an ovo-laco vegetarian, eggs are a no-go for me, so I was excited to sub in the organic tofu with my Mexican Scramble. On it's own, the organic tofu is delicious. I suspect they marinated the tofu in curry powder, so the flavor is drenched throughout. However, it clashed with the rest of the flavors of the Mexican Scramble. I basically divided my dish in half, by eating the tofu first, and then the bell peppers, onions, and corn tortilla strips and salsa. My husband ordered the Adam's Special and had no complaints! He devoured his meal within minutes. Our meals came with a side of sourdough whole-wheat walnut bread, and seasoned breakfast potatoes. All in all, the food was yummy (even if a bit pricey), but I'm not sure the curry tofu is best as a substitute for eggs. read more

I've heard about this place for so long and I finally had the chance to go here and get some brunch! I went in and it was great to see various options for brunch & scrambles/omelets and it made me happy having the option to sub tofu for eggs.
